mine does not smoke by default

so - maybe you have added a smoke mod somewhere?
or is it the online/offline smoke effect to point out modded FMs like opening cockpits?

Throttle down below 100% power. Thanks!

The effect should be toned down a bit but at full boost settings, the Bf-109 ran rich and smoked. If you can show me otherwise, then I will happily remove the effect ;)

P.S. Ahh yes, as Vampire has pointed out, if you are online and are using different FMs or mods to that server, it will cause certain aircraft to trail smoke.

My 109s all have purple / reddish engine smoke that looks like air show smoke - I do not have any such mods in my #UP# folder
I can not figure how to turn it off either

The smoke I see is thick in UP 3

Not like the exhaust smoke I have seen from 109's at air shows, its thinner and not so solid looking.

I have never seen a bf109 in 1940-45 flying around,
so is there any evidence it was looking like it is in UP 3 as it looks a bit daft ?

Installing Plutonium without the two conflicted class files, makes the smoke far more realistic.
We almost can't see it, just like the real piston airplanes. ;)

The Db600 - with split Y manifold did leave a light smoke when maxed out or at full auto rich - but what I have in UP3 / 4.10
is a red/purple trail that abruptly ends some 20 meters behind the plane - far more visible that the smoke of the Me-262's

I would post a picture but my JSGME mod "screen capture saved as jpegs" does not function

20 meters? It looks like 1 km.

A hashfile inside "Anto's 109 Pack" is responsible for this. I had the smoke removed that way when I used it with ModAct.

But in UP3 these hashfiles are inside sfs archives. I don't know how to remove them.
