Mmm, looking very nice - sort of between a Curtis Hawk/Lavockin(spelling?) melded to a Hurribox, excellente
My theories, tech understandings/opinions & ideas are suggestive & speculative only.
With the different wieght & CoG balance with the removal of the merlin, rad, plumbing, & what not and less drag, what differences good and bad between merlin versions so far, propossed, actual or decided upon be needed to offset that Bucking 'feast' of an engine?
- Wouldn't another bit of for CoG reasons on more rearward frame/bulkhead Ballast of some kind be added behind the pilots reward armour?
- Additional/Reshaping & repositioning of main foward fuel & oil tanks because likely the different radial-to-inline-mountings & engine equipment/accessories mean some sort of an aft or under pilot fueltank to regain lost capacity?
- Or fuz extention &/or tail alterations, like slightley bigger fin or deeper-chord rudder for the extra power and yaw balance or something?
- As with this bird and the Ki61 Swallow/Hien to K100 Goshiken, there isn't much; to my knowledge, information on this said real life conversions & associated differences afterwards, what info is there can be posted/linked to?
Forgive my threadjacking, technical curiosity got me like a cat after string.
