Plowshare, Have you offered this mod to the DT team for inclusion in a future update.  What a great body of work... Thanks they all look great.  I'd love to add them to my WWII Cruise Trilogy.

Bonz:

I don't know that I can "offer this mod" to the DT Team - I thought all these mods out here were public domain unless specifically denied. I could be wrong of course.

If anyone wishes to use these ships then I whole heartedly give my permission.

And thank you for the kind words as well.

asheshouse:

Sir thanks so very much for your response and kind help. I have not creaated a mods folder. I have successfully installed DBW all the way to 1.6. This is the game I am using and put any mods directly into the #DBW folder or into jsgme if the mod had the correct file structure. Therefore, I placed the USN Fleet Carriers into the #DBW folder like I have with so many others and then added the lines to the different ini files as per instructions...that being the cheif.ini the Ships.ini and Stationary.ini that are in the #DBW/STD/com/maddox/il2/objects folder...and then the technics_ru.properties in #DBW/STD/il8n folder.

I also have followed the instructions and placed the Carrier Crew 4 folder inside #DBW ans well as Carrier Crew 5 with no results.

I am an old guy that has only been using IL2 1946 for about 2 to 3 weeks now...so knob is an appropriate name for me. As a real pilot with WW2 aircraft experience I really desire to make this game work as close as I can to the real deal.

I don't use DBW so there is a risk any advice I give could be wrong  :)

I would suggest the following:

Do not install either of the Carrier Crew Mods until you have the basic USN Fleet Carriers working.

In DBW you do not have a Mods folder. Instead you have a #DBW folder.
This serves the same function.

So from the temp folder on Desktop copy and paste the USN Fleet Carrier folder into #DBW.
Do not copy the Mods folder.

Find the ini and properties files in #DBW and make the required edits there.
As I suggested before, start with the chief.ini and ships.ini entries.
Do not do the others until you have the ships working.

How can I verify the ships are working?

Open Full Mission Builder and look for it in the Objects Window under Ships.
To be completely certain, create a mission and Play the mission with the ship in view.

You were correct sir, I followed your instructions. In FMB looked at objects/ships. Although they are listed, when you select them in either the moving or stationary...they do not display. SO the program sees them...but won't display them?

Also, I use Dark Blue World 1.6 and have placed the USN Fleet Carriers folder in the #DBW folder. ( C:\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\#DBW ) I thought that is what you do since I don't have a MODS folder.

If they are listed but do not display it normally means that the hier.him entries do not match the ships.ini entries. Are there errors listed in the logfile.txt which relate to the ship?

This tells you how to set it up.
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,13457.0.html

It keeps a log of recent game activity and lists any errors which occur.
Useful for tracking down faults in mod installations.

If you already have it enabled it will save a file called logfile.log or logfile.txt
Name depends on the setup in conf.ini
File is saved in the game root folder.
Either file can be opened in a text editor like NotePad
