That creaking sound: I also picked it up while reviewing the soundset. (believe it or not we actualy did make them softer than they were originally)I have not got HSFX 5 dowloaded yet...it will take a few days. Does it have a MODS and a FILES folder? If so, I can get those files and do you guys a little "no-creak" patch, even while I still am downloading the whole pack

has files folder, but you have to add the mods folder by default, works as normal though.

I usually only read this beautiful forum, but now I have a question.

Is there any chance to make HSFX5 compatible with Jet-Era? May be something like a patch? I don't want to change HSFX to UP....

from the HSFX readme,

( note : If you drag the buttons or other files from this into your stock game version piecemeal because you like a specific FM etc, you will get a no boot.
This is deliberate.  )

If you are not a SEOW player, then you should have a clear reason for getting something like HSFX. HSFX has also , as far as I have been told by its creators, employed some measures to make casual updating of it like adding new planes or stuff a lot harder, for added protection of their oline SEOW game. We have been asked not to interfere with this, and since many of us also are SEOW players and HSFX hlpers, we will of course respect this. HSFX updates will come through HSFX, especially ini related stuff that affects compatibility.

Interisting, that means I stick with UP now.
And 4.09, of course.
But I also applaude the HSFX team. Flying a BF-109, Mustang or P-38 there
was pretty funny, the effects and sounds amazing for a clean modpack.
I wish I could have those Flyby sounds with my 409 Histomod Sabres. I already tried the Tiger Flyby sounds in the Jet Era pack, but it didn't work.

Anyway, congrats to a cool release, HSFX was my first love with IL-2 mods and my favourite install still is
a modded HSFX4.11 one. HSFX 4.xx also had the best clouds IMHO except they were flickering.

I have problems with russian text in the campaigns. I have googled like a crazy and i get no results. I have tried [rts] locale=en with no results. I even tried de to se if it turned to german, but no. Plz help i cannot read russian.

Please PM me or somthing if you got a solution that works.

In dgen you will find a lot of files called campaigns** RU and so on put a - in front of all campaign RU (change name)but leave the others then u will be fine

Gonna do it all over again with fresh install, DO217 is very nice and I appreciate it, but not much use in a dogfight.
For folk that think I ballsed up the install. Every patch was installed with a restart in between (just to be safe). Sitting pretty at 4.10.1 and then did HSFX, everything was fine, then gradually stopped working.

Pick the appropriate version depending upon what Dgen add ons that you have bought.
(EnjoyrPatch for NoAddons v.5.2 if you are just using the stock game.)

If you look around, there also some very good free new  Dgen campaigns by various  talented authors.
(Also I believe enjoyr included more in the basis packs anyhow ?)

Have to say that after running some QMB missions for the past few days with this new HSFX 5.0 there is an over all new realistic feeling and sight that seems added into the game. Maybe it's just me or the boxed wine I'm drinking. But I've been flying mostly the MiG-3 updated version in QMB 1941 missions up against same period German machines with my old trusty Microsoft Sidewider. While the MiG-3 happens to be one of my favorite of the Russian rides and have been flying it a lot over my time with IL-2, there is a completely new feeling to it's flight and control response and also seems to have better climb than the old game version vs HSFX 5.0. But it's not just with the MiG-3, it is also with other the aircraft and the over all feel to the game play and better look to the old maps and other effects that take place during the game.

Again... maybe it's just me or a glass to many of wine. But something sure seems to be clicking together right with this new HSFX 5.0 package and it truely feels like the game finally has all the correct pieces and parts put together and working for a very close as you can get into the seat of a fighter plane and take to the skies of WWII.  And what a ride over the years! LoL

Again... to all that worked on this project and to Oleg & crew that made this all possible it the first place...  Thank's.
