We could stand a contrail fix, and is it my imagination or does the front gun disappear externally after being fired?

I know the nose gun is vanishing. It's a magic gun. It disappears to fool the enemy into thinking that the gunner removed it..... Just kidding. I know if the issue. I'm looking into that too.
