McWolf_DecalsShine

Glad to find this site and got SAS mod enable, quite small size and workable, Share my mod with you. ;D

For v4.10, just delete regiments.ini inside mod folder. It's not necessary for the effect mod, just show how to add personal regiment.

00_McWolf_DecalsShine.7z for v4.10

In this mod, you will find two files there: base1 and base2, they control all decals texture effect in 3D plane body, finally we don’t need to edit thousands mat files to get shine effect as before. All mats for markings will be output with shine effect now, so we don’t need to set ClearCache=0 as before.

Install:
Extract McWolf_DecalsShine to your MODS folder, you must have already installed MOD Activator or Sound Mod at first.

Note:
1. if you installed NewMat or IL2 Mat Manger before, please delete it or disable it, especially, there should be no mat files in folder X:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\PaintSchemes\Cache. This mod don’t need ClearCache to be set =0 now. Please also noted IL2 Mat manager change default decal location in mat file and also edit new position for decal texture.

2. If you set HakenAllowed=1 in your conf.ini before, please delete it.

3. If you don't like those weathered decals and prefer default one, just delete it, all default decals will still have shine effect.

4. If you wish to use other tga files such as Ace's original weathered numbers etc, just replace default one with exact same name.

Uninstall:
Just delete this from MODS folder.

Version 1.21
Nothing is more on it now, just delete regiment.ini, which was to show how to add personal regiment in game. In v4.10, it will cause some errors.

Version 1.2
All numbers are finished now, thanks Martin send me missed RAF numbers.
Maybe it's the final version if there are no more missed tga, but any feedback will be welcome

Version 1.11
resize 140x140 tga to 128x128, ATI card user please download it and give me a feedback
Thanks Gromic's explanation for it.

Version 1.10
1. resized British roundels and tuned weathered effect.
2. except 109 later numbers, all others are finished.
3. some other small tune on color shade for some tga files.

Version.1.00
1. Enabled hakens for Luftwaffe, disable or delete Cache folder inside this mod will disable it.
2. Edited most of numbers, add weather effect to match most of new default skins.
3. Edited all national markings
4. Resized Luftwaffe Emblems to get correct size for both Bf109 and Fw190, original ones is HUGE for Fw190

Welcome McWolf!

I have been using this mod from day 1 (I refuse to play without it)
I have even included it in the Forgotten Countries Lite versions...which reminds me, that needs an update!

Very welcome sir.

Spookie's emblems is more details in large tga format. I tried his work, but final I back to mine. maybe in my personal view, it's better to match more detailed skin, however as your know, this skin is only 1024, so on aircraft body, still little blur and rough. But enjoy by your personal favorite, that's what we do for others.

McWolf, I agree :) What I like in Spookie's emblems is that they are in correct position and not these football field sized as in original game ;) I use Avala's PlaneShine, McWolf DecalShine and Spookie's emblems and must say the game looks stunning :) You guys make great mods that might look small but add so much to the immersion!

Did I miss something? Spookie replace some tga with his more detailed one, but didn't change mat. My mod didn't change mat, that mean all decals have default position, but I changed tga size in order to make it smaller than default one. ::)

;D I wonder if IL2 support more detailed skin, such as 2048x2048? if possible, that will be perfect. ::)

This mod removes some of the new Italian units that came with 4.09m patch. McWolf, you should make a 4.09m version that solves this problem, please. Cause I really love this mod.

Well i solved that problem by myself, by canceling the file "regiments.ini".
