Ok, I decided to throw this out because it has not advanced in months, so I better set it free.

NEW:
- 3 sets of rocket racks: MkI (the infamous early 370kg racks), MkII (the late aluminium 216kg racks) & MkVIII (0-length). Correct uneven spacing between racks on the Typhoon (middle space is wider)! Warning! MkI & MkII racks weight IS modelled.

-New 1000 & 500 lbs british bombs by Loku

-Changes on FMs: Typhoon aerodynamics is now closer to Hurricane than to Tempest (same thick-wing design), Incorrect torque on Seafury and Tempest II are now fixed, Tempest II & Seafury engines are now radials + horsepower closer to specifications.

-New TyphoonI Late 3d model from 101tfs fully skinnable.

-greater rocket variety, and some salvo loads included.

Warning: This mod is unfinnished and thus needs corrections:

-Wings lack collision corrected by Birdman

-Template is half backed (in particular rivets & lines need finishing!) I hope some tallented skinner can pick this up to provide a pack of skins for all Typhoon periods.  :)

A remark on new british bombs... I post because questions my arise (Have already a question from Epervier :D)

In game we already have 500lbsE (with E for England) bombs by Zorin which you can see below (first photo)

But we were missing the other 500lbs british bombs used on Typhoon (and other RAF planes):

As the name Bomb500lbsE  is already in use for Zorin bombs, I named the new ones Bomb500lbsE_MC just to distinguish them. "MC" does not mean anything. The official "British Ordnance Manual" name all these bombs "Medium Capacity" Bombs and talks about MC 500lbs, MC 1000lbs, etc so I took it from there.

There is already a British 1000lbs bomb in game, but a modern one from jetwar. So for uniformity, I used same type of name (than 500lbs) for the new WWII 1000lbs british bomb: Bomb1000lbsE_MC (for "Medium Capacity").

These are (if I rememeber right) more powerfull than Zorin 500lbsE and US 1000lbs bomb simply because I used values from the same British ordnance manual, not copied values from old in game bombs.


MODDERS! Please update all British planes (Lancaster, Halifax, Wellington) to use these British bombs instead of the ugly US 1000lbs bomb (it looks ugly on a british plane because it simply doesn't look "right")  Did Mosquito used 1000lbs bombs? It should be since they eventually used the 4000lbs cookie... please confirm and update Mosquitos.

OK, in case you don't have those classfiles, then you can find them attached to this message. Just add these classfiles to V2b (DBW version) and all loadouts should work.

Happy flying with my reworked Typhoon FM!

One tip for FW 190 pilots: Don't bleed too much energy while trying to attack Typhoons at low altitude, they can now be surprisingly fast and dangerous when chasing you.

WIP(Light) template now Online.
I am not done yet, will Update as i go.
But this should enable yall to build your own Typhoon easily.

Feedback and Bugreports appreciated - if you find something completely fubar, shout!

Contains pixel work:
-Completed Rivets and Panel Lines
-Updated Hatches and some minor Elements
-Lined up quite a bit of stuff, including rudder, Tail markings---
-Redid reinforcement plates around the tail section
-Redid various elements like
*wingtip lights.
*Doors. Flaps.
*Gear Bay interiors.
*Prop.
*Rotol logo (i think they used Rotol Blades?!)
-Added Belgian markings Just for fun

For 4.09 users !

Warning !

The author wanted to integrate the weight of the pylons of weapons into the behavior of the model of flight of the plane. It is very cunning from the part!
It is the modification of Class Mass that is integrated into all the versions and all the packs. The problem it is because for packs 409 this Class is very reduced and can cause a crash of the game if you do not possess all the pylons included in this Class in your game.
Now numerous pylons were integrated.
I made out a will in UP2.01 and everything works.
I hope that our friends possessing ModAct will have so much luck!
If with the "standard" corrective you have an error The memory could not be "read" you can make out a will with the "light" corrective.

Hey Crazyflak, I tried this in HSFX 6.0.1 using the 4.09 version.  the Tempest FB MkII works great but none of the Typhoons work, I pick em and their load outs but I get no image on QMB.  And no airplane when you hit fly, just empty sky, no pink cockpit either.  Do you want a log file?

Well, I looked in the folder and I can only fine Pilot1_D1.msh and Pilot1_D2.msh, I've looked everywhere in the files and do not see the pilot1.mat, and "replace Gb2 by pilot1".. with what? if I do happen to find the file.

Hey guys. Just letting you all know that I'm adding to this awsome addition, the Mk.Ia with 12 .303 guns (6 on each wing) soon. All I have left to do is add in the guns in the classfile, and model, and get the solid fairing mapped to the skin. It uses the mk Ib body so yes, it's skinable!

This skin isnt the current default, but Texx has made one and is making some more in anticipation of it's arrivial. Here's what they look like in game:

Hi there, I tried to implement the solution with replacing "gb2" with "pilot1" in [layer2] of my pilot1 folder in all Typhoons (using notepad) but I can't seem to find what to replace. Here are the contents of pilot1, layer2:

Ah! I see... I will reupload, but you can fix it yourself by using the fix for HSFX6 above (replace texture/Gb.tga by texture/Pilot1.tga)

EDIT: Here a patch for you (changes pilot.mat to a more usual one)

When you fly as lead you need to go into arming screen and choose show markings. (You might need to select same camo in the "fly" screen too)

Question / problem with skins for the Typhoon.

I recently downloaded and installed Texx's skins for the Typhoon, but they didn't fit and look all whacky. I posted on M4T and was told about an update to the plane. Are the skins he posted on M4T designed to fit this new update? I am running regular HSFX 6.0, which has the Typhoon and Tempest, but am wondering why the skins don't fit.

If skins don't fit, simple: you are using the wrong skins. 

Skin packs should state which Typhoon version they are intended for. If they don't tell, ask the skinners or try them all to see which one fits.

Texx responded back to my PM and said that certain skins fit certain planes, but he did not state which one that skin pack was for. Based on what he did say though it sounds like the HSFX 6.0 version might be the older one.

CrazyFlak,  I get that, I have been playing the sim for years and years. I just want to know which Typhoon is used in HSFX 6.0 with no other mods.

HSFX6 has the all new 3D model released in this thread. Thus, skins for the new 3D model of this mod should fit but old skins for DBW/UP3/HSFX5 Typhoons or anything older won't fit. You can easily identify the 3D model by looking at the underside of wing roots and gear wells: Old Typhoon 3D has holes at wing root and gear doors not fitting whereas in new 3D all is beautifully like in real plane.

Im not quite sure whether this should not have it, but it appears that the sea fury has a large amount of roll to the right without trim, and you cannot seem to trim the ailerons so i have to trim the rudder which only medicorely fixes the problem and leads to the aircraft falling into a spin alot easier.

what update is this? If it is the patch for this mod then simply find the orginal folder and find the files which need to be replaced and copy and paste the updated files over them and overwrite them

hello all

I having troubles getting the standalone version of this to work, it causes ctd at 70%. I installed the latest buttons for 4.09m (im running this with ultrapack 2.01) and i installed the hurricane pack as instructed, the hurricane pack works fine. Do i need to remove the original SAS Seafury mod for this to work?

Update- Ok i didnt see the 4.09 link lower down the page, this pack works however it lacks the Seafury updates which were my main reason for downloading this.
Can i just confirm the SeaFury updates are for 4.10 only?

Yes !
I did not put Seafury in the package 409.
And if your next question is: "Are you going to add?" the answer is: "No thank you! This plane is > 1945 !".
So it does not interest me.  :-X

I would like to ask is it me or is the stall speed extremely high and why is there no aileron trim? As if I do a tight turn even at 320km/h I will stall, also the roll to the right is extremely big to not have aileron trim. I can also not trim it through the rudder as it just makes it less controllable and males it yaw to the left.

Stall is not always a speed related thing, the typhoon was a big disappointment for RAF until they discovered its ability as a weapon plattform . RAF modern fighters (WWII) the Spitfire was really a bad weapon platform.  There are many articles about its bad handling character around. a FM discussion is deemed to fail since getting the right performance in this game means something else is wrong. In this game you need to focus on the performance the planewas known to have and face the consequences  in other aspect
Correcting every tiny bit will make all planes a P 51, if you know what I mean.

Unfortunately, we don't have FM experts anymore, so the FMs cannot truly be fine-tuned.

I have to say, though, that Birdman did his best to correct some shortcomings of my initial rough FM that departed from Tempest (all previous Typhoons simply took Tempest FM, which is very obviously unnatural, as its design is entirely different) and adopted Hurricane as base (wings and control surfaces from typhoon are of same design than Hurricane).

About aileron trim, you're right, I just checked and indeed the FM has it set to 0 (=none) which might be an overlook, but I doubt, as most aileron trims could not be adjusted in flight. I have to go check my typhoon book just to be sure before amending the possible mistake. Thank you for noticing it out. :)

There was not aileron trim on the real plane too. (I'm 90% sure about it, but I will check my books again)
I would like to ask is it me or is the stall speed extremely high and why is there no aileron trim? As if I do a tight turn even at 320km/h I will stall, also the roll to the right is extremely big to not have aileron trim.
320km/h? .... You have to fly it faster, much faster or to use combat flaps. 

Tempest is one of my favorite planes in the game :)

Help please!!

I'm lost after many hours of head scratching as to how to get the listed set of weapons playable for the Tiffi (25Lb anti ship and anti personelle rockets). Don't know if i'm missing another mod or something, but it's making me cry  :'(.

Anyhoo, what fantastic addition to this now class act of a sim (and getting greater all the time, thanks to the whole community).

Just a quick note incase the original poster was refering to the Sea Fury, indeed the Sea fury did have aileron trim BUT it could only be adjusted on the ground before or after flight. So our model is correct in having no inflight aileron trim. :)

Hi everybody !

I found some skin bug on new Typhie when viewed from inside cockpit (look on the right):

I wondered what was the problem and finally solved it (on the left): it seems that the part of the skin used to "paint" fuselage in front of cockpit remains unherited from Tempest skin.
Fortunately, despite this part is already used for the canopy frame, it's possible to fix this awfull black patches & lines.

Are you interested in corrected skins and default skins ?

In order to do this update, I need to know one little thing : the name of the fuselage part BEHING cockpit (were the little antenna is attached) is it CF_D0 or CF_D1 or another ?

The antenna should be attached to Tail1_D0 and moved exactly as much as the tail position differs from CF position.

Ok, I have tried and tried but cant get the skins on the Typhoon to work.  I have DBW 4.101 with the latest buttons and this is not my first mod.  This mod is kicking my ass more than adding the FW-190mod.   I added the stuff as per the book but I still get 70% crash. 
  I would apreciate a little help/nudge or otherwise in the right direction.  I suddenly got the urge to fly a cardoor Tiffy.

How did you do to make it work properly in HSFX 6.017? I've a curious bug regarding the canopy of the "late" models, the canopy is rotated 90° to the right, perpendicular to the flight direction. But it works fine with the 1942 model.

I have just installed them into my 412.1 + 5.2 (this pack + fix + Hurricane) and got some missing loadout starting from the (dec44)_8x25lbs(AntiShip)_MkIIrack onwards....

Running this in 4.12.2 modact 5.3, wondering if others see missing fuselage when looking over shoulder for all included aircraft?  With HSFX 7, the tempests and typhoons do not have this issue, but with this mod inside modact 5.3 I am having this issue.  Not sure if its a conflict or something else. 

Question out for other running this one.... do you see the ground though the missing rear fuselage when looking over your shoulder?

I tried installing this pack in a new HSFX7 + SAS ModAct install (based on Bravo's marvelous instruction - thank you) - but encountered the same cockpit 90 degree rotation problem as J.J. here.   There is no other mod except for the AutoDiffFM for HSFX7, without which the Typhoon won't even fly.  The standalone version was used.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?  Bravo - looks like you have a HSFX7+ SAS ModAct install - have you encountered this issue?

I have two versions of the game: a Dark Blue World installation of the game, and a 4.12 version of the game with the latest modact. I'm confused about how to install this stuff. I already have Typhoons and Tempests in my "regular" game, and not in my "DBW" folder, or my "SAS" folder as "mods". When I put this Typhoon and Tempest mod in my respective "DBW" and "SAS" folders, like I do when I install new aircraft, I don't see any difference in the Typhoons and Tempests in my games from before. My "air ini", and "plane ru" files already have lines in them identical to the ones given in the readme file included with the mod, so I didn't see the point in adding them. The "weapons ru" entries, of course, are different than the ones I already had in my "weapons ru" file, but adding these new entries made a couple of strange floating, detached "hardpoints" appear underneath the wings along with the additional stuff available to hang from them. None of the new skins fit the old models, and I'd like to know how to "delete" my older Typhoons so I can enjoy the new ones in their place. Anybody know anything about this?

In the archive 409 there is a 'Arms' folder that contains the new weapons.
But maybe he misses you ...

Please let us know your experience once you have tried this mod in HSFX7.  I vaguely remember that last time I tried to put this mod to HSFX, the new loadout options were activated for MkIb and MkIb late, thought there was an issue with the canopy rotated horizontally 90%.  The 4-blade version might not have shown.

I'd be interested to know whether we can get this into HSFX without issue as well.

I'm interested in the loadouts and stuff, I just cant seem to figure out how to get the meshes for a 4-blade prop into HSFX7. No matter what I try I still end up with a 3 blader. The Late model really should have the 4 blade prop but the Mod gods have conspired against me.

I just tested the GB mark 1B in my modtool and it looks like Blister_01.msh has a problem.

Can someone confirm it is ok in the game please? 

If it is I can look at my code and see why it isn't displaying correctly.

Hi everybody !

I found some skin bug on new Typhie when viewed from inside cockpit (look on the right):

I wondered what was the problem and finally solved it (on the left): it seems that the part of the skin used to "paint" fuselage in front of cockpit remains unherited from Tempest skin.
Fortunately, despite this part is already used for the canopy frame, it's possible to fix this awfull black patches & lines.

Are you interested in corrected skins and default skins ?

hi guys, sorry to drag up an old issue, but this post from 2 years back, from Gilb57, seems to remain unanswered, and i'm suffering from the same problem with my Typhoons - the nose part that is visible from the cockpit does not match the skin, and is a real mess of horrid black, jaggy bits.
does anyone know of a fix for this? i've not found anything....

Hi Malone,

AFAIK the problem (or the solution?) is in the skins themselves, something to do with the mapping of the canopy frame as Gilb mentions (I'm not a skinner obviously  :P).  Many of the more recent Tiffie skins have solved the issue, and it's easy to see the difference when you compare a 'fixed' skin to an older one.  I'm using 'fixed' skins myself, because the 'bug' is quite off-putting from the player's perspective

I'm at work, so I can't post an image, but I'm sure you'll spot the problem easily if you look at a sample of older and newer skins, the canopy frame is mapped as a separate 'part' on the skin as I recall...

okay, thanks for the tip, KB - in fact, i do have both the fixed skins and older ones, just must've gotten them muddled up over time, lol
if that's the solution, then fine, don't worry about posting a pic, i can find the skin differences and fix em up myself, no worries :D

With regards to the skin issue, one has to remember where the cockpit comes from to understand why there is a mapping issue with the nose in that view...

The Tempest's nose is mapped where the canopy is mapped on the Typhoon. Skinners have a tendency to "clean up" their skins so they black out the portions of the skin that doesnt get used. Then you end up with the problem you see there. Tempest skin with Typhoon map overlaid on the left and Typhoon "fixed" skin on the right:

Has anyone been able to successfully install 101tfs' Sea Fury Mk X mod in CUP or 4.12.2/ 5.3? All of my Tiffies, Tempests, and the orig Sea Fury all work well in my CUP install. I am just unable to have the Sea Fury visual mod register, at all. Thanks in advance!

Skunk,

Please let us know your experience once you have tried this mod in HSFX7.  I vaguely remember that last time I tried to put this mod to HSFX, the new loadout options were activated for MkIb and MkIb late, thought there was an issue with the canopy rotated horizontally 90%.  The 4-blade version might not have shown.

I'd be interested to know whether we can get this into HSFX without issue as well.

I've finally figured it out. You have to take Jeronimo's 3D fix mod (http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,25142.0.html ...scroll down to the Typhoons) and use the Original mod version. In the TyphoonMkIBLate(Multi1) folder there will be a hier4.him file. Simply back up the original hier.him file and rename hier4.him to hier.him. I finally have my 4 bladed prop in HSFX7, just as the MkIB late should have.

Wackywings, if you make a new file in #WAW or #JTW called SeafuryX then try the following..

SeafuryX                         (the one you just made)
    /3D0           
      /plane       
         /Seafury_MkX         (all the included files + the Summer folder)
         /Textures               (Gb2.tga + Typhoon_Instruments.tga)

This is what it should look like in windows explorer.

Sorry if you're having problems. I had to remove several other mods (Sea Fury cowling shine correction and Jero's cowling and spinners) before this new Sea Fury
model would display properly.

BTW, for anyone else viewing this post......I know that there is a way to modify the CF mesh files for proper placement of tanks and ordinace. Is there a tutorial already in existence...or could someone offer up a quick workshop on this topic? Thanks....

Hi Whacky, not that I'm aware off, but there exists Matrix Params by Kumpel.
It describes how to change the mesh entries.
Since you can't exactly trace which 3-D update uses which hier.him version, it is best to
always refer to the original Mesh. Unless you're shipped a complete new Model
with new classes/Loadouts.
You can fix that by trial and error.

it would be interesting to know:
Which Gameversion
Which Mods load before Tiffies that change some Files this Mod uses

Plane Folders this Mods ship and is imminent in other Mods, which, please post here, I'm no looking glass mama..

Problem is, Mod is fine, your install obviously messed up, try loading the Mod at first from your List and see if it still persists.
At least always give us specs about your game install, if not, we cannot see what you're doing out there?

I'm in HSFX7. All I did was replace the old model with this one. I just made a folder in 3do named after the old model and dumped the new 3D files in it and loaded up the sim. I didnt change or add any class files.

It was only because I wanted to skin the thing ;)

Im not quite sure whether this should not have it, but it appears that the sea fury has a large amount of roll to the right without trim, and you cannot seem to trim the ailerons so i have to trim the rudder which only medicorely fixes the problem and leads to the aircraft falling into a spin alot easier.


I too have this problem with this pack, especially the Sea Fury. But for me, I have a severe roll to the left and it's impossible to trim out. The Tempests in the pack also have the issue but to a lesser extent. Funny thing is, my friend who has an identical version of the game and mods, can trim and fly with no problem. Other than some key binds, our settings/mods are the same.

Our version: 4.12.2m from Steam (directory moved)

We fly the stock tempest mk V a lot and while we can't quite get it to go perfectly straight (as with any other AC for that matter, save for maybe ones with contra-rotating props), it only requires minimal rudder trim to get it going without having to make constant adjustments during cruise.

Another thing is that as soon as I load the Sea Fury in QMB, it violently rolls to the left and the left wing tip points at the ground and the whole AC begins to nose dive.

I then give it some elevator trim to get it flat but I have to give it a ton of rudder right trim and while it stops the rolling to left (starboard? port? whiskey?... I'll stick to left and right :), the AC begins to slip right and the only way to get it to fly straight is to tip the left wing so that it flies about 10 degrees leaning left. I only have to do this in the stock Tempest MkV if I have severe wing damage. Turn and slip indicator shows 20 LEFT. In a test, my buddy flew his in QMB, didn't get the violent left roll upon spawning and was able to trim it with the turn and slip indicator in the center. It felt about the same as the stock MkV for him. Same with the other AC included in the pack.

And like kaxii mentioned, it has a tendency to snap-stall very easily.

If there was a problem with my stick, then all AC would exhibit this behavior.

On another note, we removed this pack (and Hurri pack) and installed the older Sea Fury by SAS Cirx and it has the same problem for me but not for my friend.

I also installed a P40 pack just to check and was able to trim those out nearly perfectly. I even reinstalled my game.

In the original post, it says that non-DBW flyers need Diff_FM but I believe it is already included in SAS Engine mod.

At this point, I am completely baffled as to what the problem is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post, I just want to supply as much information as possible.

I apologize for reviving old issues , but I have tried to install this great mod in HSFX7.03 , and I still have failed to resolve the 90 degree canopy frame issue. Everything works fine with this exception.
I have read through all threads again , and have not found the solution.
Skunk's thread mentioned changing the names of a hier.him , but this file in my pack already has the revised name.
Any help appreciated from someone who solved this in HSFX7.

First, I'm sorry, my English is bad...
But, I was able to fix the problem of the canopy in HSFX7.0.3.

1. Copy the files in the folder "\3do\Cockpit\Seafury".
2. Paste the copied file in the folder "\3do\Cockpit\TempestMkV". (DO NOT SELECT OVERWRITE!! ONLY PASTE!!)

Fixed the problem in this way.

removed the 4.12 (and 4.11) tags as this mods cause a bug with
the 500lb fuze settings with other planes in 4.12.
They simply are not possible anymore, so this mod is not fully 4.12 compatible.

was reported here (http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,26690.msg396031.html#msg396031) but sadly noone ever noticed this.  :-X
