Flyable Gladiators & Sea Gladiator with English Cockpit
=====================================


This mod brings you both the Seagladiator by Muas (with Charlie Chap's english cockpit already included) and makes the stock Gladiator I and II flyable with English Cockpits also.

This replaces all previous versions of these mods.

Users of HSFX or UP dont need this.

Additional changes in SAS version : Reticle size increased.

Original Chap notes:

Labelling altered to English & Gauges recalibratd & changed:
Fuel (Gals)
Altimeter (feet) (second hand added for Thousands of feet)
Climb & Dive indicator (feet)
Speedometer (Knots (KIAS)
(The Altimeter is an unusual configuration but does read Ok.)
Temp & pressure gauges do still read in metric.
(Your particular aircraft is obviously a cancelled export!)


Opening canopies for MkI and II were not enabled because of compatibility issues with other communities. Sorry!

Installation:

Use the latest SAS Buttons
Copy Mods and PaintSchemes folders to your iL-2 root.

If you want the flyable gladiators without the seagladiator:

Install as normal, but dont add the lines below for the seagladiator to any documents.

The following is optional (it wont hurt if you dont do it):
~You can also delete the "paintschemes" folder in the mod,
~and delete the "plane" folder inside the mod in the 3do folder.
~You can also safely delete the following classfiles (but they wont do anything if you leave them in):

Um ... I have a question ...

This mod was originally available with opening canopies. I used to have it, but now I don't anymore as I had to do a reinstall a while back.

Getting on to the point ... is there any way I can get a hold of this mod with opening canopies? I understand online compatibility and all, but I am playing offline. And if I am not mistaken, even if I do try and play online it only hurts myself? And even still, What about the offline guys? Offline players can't enjoy the canopies despite the online problem?

Anyway, would be really nice to get the opening canopies back. My dream is that one day every plane will have an opening canopy ... I hate to go backwards ya know?

I guess I just don't understand why the offline players can't have a link to a version with canopies ... I am not trying to impose or anything, just to understand and maybe get the DL :)

The Seagladiators have opening canopies, the stock ones now, because changing those classes and 3d was a drag for me, and so I didnt do it! The 3d and classes between the seagladdies and the regular ones are not the same.

In 4.10 J8A received openable canopy. Gladiators got it in external view. So, this mod needs little update...  ;)

Just posted something similar to this over in the 4.101 Swordfish cockpit thread.  A few weeks ago this mod was working for me.  Had to redo windows on my computer and just reinstalled il-2 with 4.101 and SAS Mod-act 3.0.  Installed this mod and now anytime I set the Sea Gladiator to RAF/RN with "Markings On", i get an immediate CTD.  I posted this in the Swordfish (not the Mk II mod, the cockpit only mod thread) thread too because the exact same things happens with that mod.  I can't fly the Swordfish with "Markings On" as the RAF/RN either.  With the Swordfish mod off I can set the AI swordfish to RAF/RN with "Markings On" with no CTD.  This mod obviously I can't test the same way, however, with this mod enabled I CAN fly the regular Gladiators as the RAF/RN with "Markings On".  But for the Sea Gladiator and Swordfish, no dice.  I have tested it over and over again and gone through my mods folder bit by bit trying to find what could be causing conflicts but nothing jumps out so far.  I admit my one change from my last install has been installing the FBDSM pack, but that doesn't list any changes to the Gladiators or Swordfish, so I don't think that's what's causing it.  Any suggestions or anything I'm missing would be helpful if it means i can avoid having to completely reinstall il-2 again...

Gentlemen,

The Sea Gladiator is currently incompatible with 4.10 & 4.101, But here's the classchecker link:

It won't help with the Sea Gladiator, but it's an essential tool anyway.

Thanks Badmuthafunker for the link and for the tip on the incompatibility!  I just find it odd that it works without markings for RAF/RN but WITH markings for other countries.  Ran the checker and found no conflicts related to the Sea Gladiator.  Or the Swordfish, which does the same thing.  guess i'll just wait for a possible patch at... some point... haha.  thanks again!

it is because this is an 409 mod, the embedded markings mod for it, which only affects in some sides, will crash 4.101

Yeah, that's what everyone else has said.  I just installed HSFX5.1, which has them both working, so i don't have a problem with either of these planes anymore.  Which is good.  Now i need to figure out why the He 51C's default loadout isn't working anymore (yes, i have all the 4.101 patches for it).

Hi to all! I'm new here, and this is my first post.  :)

Is strange, but I've deleted the classfile "F4C0460AA50A9D96" in the main mod directory (Gladiator_SeaGladiator_Pack_SAS). This classfile contains informations about markings and paintschemes, but seems to be useless with the new patch (and, obviously, incompatible...). Now the Sea Gladiator seems to work fine with patch 4.101. All markings for RN\RAF works, and also the ones for others nations. No more CTDs.
I'm using SAS ModAct 3.06 with the latest buttons, but without UP3.0 and DBW patch. (for now...).

Hi Folks,

First, I want to say thanks for everyone involved with this MOD. It's awesome when we can choose from other planes besides the most popular or most used in the WWII arena.

I would love to only use this MOD on a clean separate install of the game - but have never modded IL2 and have no glue what to do.

I have IL2 1946 patched to version 4.08 on my PC. I only play offline occasionally. I would like to use the Sea Gladiator in Quick Mission Builder and maybe a career if that is possible.

My question is how do I do that? I see in the post something about SAS buttons but was unsure. I basically have no idea how to do this start to finish for this MOD.

My other question would be can I use this with other mods in the future ?

Any help or advice is appreciated and in advance I thank you for your help and patience.

UR welcome! Remember, you have to patch your game all the way from 4.09 to 4.101. Don't install just the latest patch ;)

I'm having trouble trapping on escort carriers.  I nose over after the hook stops me.  Any ideas?  Not having the same problem on other hooked aircraft.

Hi, cant get these to work, they install game loads and they show in older missions but when trying to fly the mission locks up at 30%. have tried un jsgme the flyables ai pack in case of conflict with gladiators etc. still no luck, any ideas on what may be amiss??

Dear friends,

I installed this mod, everything is OK for Sea Gladiator, but MkI & MkII do not appear and are not flyable, so can be used only as AI. I use 4.13.4 version with SAS Modact 6.4. What I should look into first?

I tried 4.10 version and got CTD. Do not understand why Sea Gladiator works but Mk I & Mk II do not ((
