This Il2 Sturmovik (c) MOD contains eleven ships & boats used for Amphibious Assault operations. We have tried to get the best 3D quality with the least amount of polygons. Thus many boats can be used without compromising the graphics performance. The pack contains:
02 - LCVP (Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel) one with troops and other with a jeep.
03 - LCM (Landing Craft Mechanized) empty - truck - tank
01 - LSD (Landing Ship Dock)
02 - LST (Landing Ship Tank) normal & with rockets for beach attack
01 - Hospital Ship (LSD version)
01 - Ice Breaker (bonus)
01 - Cold War Submarine (like russian - bonus)

Many thanks to all involved in the Amphib package. I had installed the previous LCM and LST and was concerned about wrecking my ini's if I tried to uninstall them prior to installing the new package. I left them in, planning to pull them if the Amphib package caused a crash. It hasn't so far, although I do have the LCM and LST in two places on the lists.
Thank you SAS. It's like getting a new game with each modification.
Also, huge thanks for the way the installation readme was done. Specifying exactly where to insert the ini additions is priceless to low-tech guys like me. :-[

Having trouble locating technics_ru.properties. Have technics.properties but not "ru".
I have ship pack II installed, works fine. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Try to search IL2 MAIN ROOT/files/i18n folder if you have one the _ru files should be there!

I have managed to install your mods (the trouble in the past was due I put some entry into the shippack space instead into the stock ship location)!
Your instruction readme at the moment is the best I ever see everywhere!!!!!!
I have see the ship from FMB at the moment but they are really wonderful!!!!
I'll give you other kind comments as I went down from the seventh sky where your new amphibian ships have fired me....so don't wait nothing before next century!!!!!

For those of you like me that like to arrange their objects in a logical manner:
The first section of the chief.ini file is the section that shows the order of objects in the various menus. This can show objects in alphabetical order, ship size order, ship type order or any order you find most logical.
Fakiten's 'chief1.txt' is the list of ships to be inserted in the first section of the chief.ini file. These can be placed anywhere in the first 'Ships' section of the chief.ini in any order; they don't HAVE to be placed after the RwyTransp entry. In fact, this would place them after the runways when logically they are ships and can be placed with the ships. I put the 'Cold War Submarine' with 'Shuka', placed the landing ships with the other landing ships after the destroyers, and put the Hospital ship and icebreaker with the other merchant marine vessels after the RN warships. As you can see, I've completely rearranged my chief.ini file. The same order can be done in the stationary.ini file.
Hope this helps a little.

I installed the pack 100% like you give the instruction in the readme and the new ships run well
in a little mission that i make.
then i run the all PacificFighter-track to watch the new revolutionFx mod and noticed that carrier at the beginning of the track where the F4F starts
dont move :-[
i uninstalled your mod ( all ini entrys that i make and the technics_ru)and your mod folder and run it again,and the the moving of the
carrier is back.
have someone other notice this?

Germy66 --- I have not been able to replicate your bug on my installation, but I do not have revolutionFx installed. Which carrier are you using?

i have it tested also without RevolutionFx mod with the same result
i installed and deinstalled it 3 times always the same with Amphibious Assault Ship Pack installed carrier stop moving
without Amphibious Assault Ship Pack the carrier moves.
The carrier is that one from the all_PacificFighters.ntrk that comes with the game.
maybe its my custom installation but before it was all run well without any problems.

I just really wanted to say thank you. I love all the ships in the pack but I think my favorite is the dock. She makes a great sub tender.:)

Just a curiosity about!
Today I was reading the Osprey book about the LST and the one about the LCI and LSM....any chance to get them also?
With those two all the main kind of amphibian ship are filled!!!

How do I get the LST-Rockets to launch? I've set up a test mission using the stationary and moving LSTs close in and further out. There are enemy planes, tanks, stationary ships, and vehicles set ashore just in off the beach. None of the ships fire their rockets. I'm sure I placed all the entries in their appropriate places.
Any help?

Superb mod mate thanks alot. I noticed that when the LST(rocket) fires that the explosions are the same as the Napalm effect, is that correct? if so it is quite a big frame rate killer as there are a lot of rockets landing. WOuld it be possible to make a version with a bomb type explosion please?

Disable the separate LCM and LST with their entry to get it working!!!

Having the earlier ones installed should not make any difference. The game engine sees them as two different ships with different class files.
Most likely problem is a text entry error.

ok. Try this. Leave the old LCM etc installed.
Remove the ini and properties text entries for the new Amphibious ship pack
best do this be adding // at the start of each relevant text line. -- Easier to put back later.
In the ShipFlak folder check you have 12 class files.
In ShipFlak/3do/Ships disable all the ship model folders by adding - in front of the folder name.
Does the game run? -- If yes then enable one ship model folder and re-enable the text entries in the ini and properties files just for this one.

I left the the two older versions of the ships in and just entered all the new ones. Yes, you end up with two of each of the old ones in your list but the ini entries for the new ones are written different from the old that it works. Yes, I'm lazy :-[ but it worked. ;D

It seems to me that initially I put lines in technics.ini before =========== line, and this time I put them under ===== and before // end of: Ships

The same is about ships.ini - first I put lines not before EOF, but before /////// , and now put them before EOF and got it running. Though I know some people put them in other places and it works nice...
I did as you'd said - started the game with classes only, then with installation lines but without 3D-models,after that I enabled all ships at once (I forgot to do it one by one), and finally deleted old versions of LCM and LST, but it worked with them as well.

Maybe. Though your readme is one of the best I've ever seen, the ships installation is often very tricky and perhaps the most difficult comparatively to other mods

Sadly, I can't install this. I'm running HSFX v4.1, and have only got as far as step 2. The "Ships.DaihatsuLC" entry doesn't exist in my chief.ini, so I've no idea where to add the required lines. Am I just a bit thick?

Find the section which begins:
[Ships]
moveType SHIP
----followed by a list of ships
DaihatsuLC ships.Ship$DaihatsuLC 2 icons/shipDestroyer.mat
is the last line before the Runway section
;============================================================
----followed by the same list of ships but different text format
this is the second section you need to put text into.
If you are using Notepad to edit the file use the Find function to locate the DaihatsuLC entry.

PS My installation is also HSFX 4.1, not UP.
The chief.ini should be in root/MODS/STD/com/maddox/il2/objects
If its not there copy it from root/files/com/maddox/il2/objects
Same with the other ini and properties files.
Do not alter the copies in root/files

Anyhow, I followed all instructions to the letter, but ended up with 70% CTD. Backed everything up, of course. So no harm done. No time to try all that again tonight.

Do a Search in the il2 root folder for each of the files you are editing.
Make sure there are only two copies of them.
One in root/files....... and one in root/MODS/STD........
If you have more than one copy in MODS then the game is reading the wrong one which is why it crashes.
--- otherwise you must have a typing mistake in the text entries or you put the text entries in the wrong place.

I searched my game root and found a third ships.ini in the disabled uranium effects folder; deleted that folder.
I re-entered all the requisite data into the right places (I use copy/paste, so I can't mistype anything).
Still 70% CTD, I'm afraid. Not to worry mate, thanks for your help. :)

I was having the same trouble and found a mod in the mods folder called Tribal class destroyer....this contained another ships ini....once deleted the problem was solved.....i just took the entry for the tribal class destroyer and added to the origanal ships ini before deleting.
See if you have this mod....might be the same problem

Brilliant, I have been looking for a mod like this for ages and this is the bee's knee's chaps !
Quick question - I am going to change the Hospital Ship 2 into an LSD Underway and that is quite easy to do with a simple skin change but I cannot work out what to do to get the guns back onto the Hospital Ship.
Can it be done by replacing files from the LSD or is it more complicated than that. I know how to get them working in the ship.ini, if this is possible.

That latest looks useful, Flakiten. :) A bit harder to land on than a carrier, but not as difficult as the icebreaker - I'm not sure if the icebreaker was supposed to be usable by choppers, but there seems to be something odd about the visual deck level being lower than the height the chopper sits. A minor point, but worth a look?
I also noticed a strange bug when hovering behind the hospital ship - the chopper skin turned white! I'll have to investigate this one a bit more though, to see if the bug is with the ship or the chopper. Of course, I may just have a duff install...

Firstly, the Icebreaker deck height bug - sitting 'on' the deck:

Now the strange skin/hospital ship bug. I first noticed this with the chopper. With the above skin, it turned white as it passed close to the ship:

It does it with other aircraft too. A stock I-153 - ok at a distance:

If you pause at this point, you'll find that the effect disappears if you zoom back, and/or change the FOV. Very odd...

If you check, every airplane in Chocks is elevated from teh carriers surface. maybe its an Il-2 thing...
About the belaching of the skin, Geez I didnt experienced it. I found out th ehard way that Hospital LSDs dont have ahard deck... but o skin problems...

It could be, though it didn't seem to happen with other ships. I'll investigate further.

I've had the intermittent white skins problem in the past.
Getting a new graphics card fixed it.

I've finally managed to install the pack, with no loading crashes. However it only appears in the FMB stationary ships menu. What have I missed this time? ;D

If you can see the ships on Stationary menu and not in ship menu something is missing at ships.ini file. So check ALL the entries on ships.ini file.

Ship.ini entries checked and re-checked; all present and correct. :)
Edit: Sorted! The problem lay in the chief.ini. The entries were all correct, but one was in the wrong place.
