Very nice ! Are these skins compatible with the default 3d, or do these mods you mention have a new 3d ???

Excellent work guys, thank you very much to all those involved, really appreciated. 8)

Asura, two questions if I may:

Is this the version TD were planning to add into a further update of the stock sim?

Was it not Mstislav who was doing the new skins originally?

My install has quite a few versions of the C-47 so you will find issues with the stock models if other mods are in as I found, the others all appear to work fine from a quick test of each though. ;)

I will save clearing things out that are interfering with the stock stuff until another day, not tonight. :D

Take care and be safe.

Wioshing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Yes, this version is for the planned 4.15.x... With the release of the next patch, not everything is yet clear and there is no point in keeping the finished material further.

I no longer remember the whole story, I worked with ready-made material.

I only took the cockpits of the C-47/Li-2/L2D.
They are magnificent!
Thank you so much!

Note: I notice that your aircraft, like the older "stock" ones, suffer from the lack of shadows on the GearL/R 2, 3 and 4 meshes.  ;)

Thank you very much for the clarification Asura, really appreciated.

I had seen elements during build at AviaSkins but had not followed all of it except maybe for the cockpits so I was unsure as to whether or not there were actually two models in work hence the question. ;)

A superb work all told, worth the wait I think most would agree. 8)

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

How do you get the cockpits only? I can't get them to show up.

How do you get the cockpits only? I can't get them to show up.
It's a bit complicated for several reasons:
- some folders don't have the same name as in the version I have,
- modifications have to be made to adapt to the version I have...

Here version for my 409/UP2.01 : https://www.mediafire.com/folder/xuwc5rxara3av/IL-2_Public
Tab : MODS_IL-2
Tab : Cockpits
File : Cockpit_C-47_L2D_Li-2_NEW.7z
The "Plane" folders correct a problem with shadows that I found on aircraft. Temporary as there are still modifications to be made for the Li-2 and L2D.
If you don't have the same version of "Planes", delete the folder.

Thank you for the pit adaption

I have an error when trying to fly the C-47 with the new cockpit in UP2.01.

C-47 plane hier.him is not loading missing mesh "Parts_D0" the LI-2 and L2D are fine

C-47 plane hier.him is not loading missing mesh "Parts_D0" the LI-2 and L2D are fine
This mesh is part of the "Plane" files and is therefore not affected by these new cockpits.
Do you need these files?

Try v2 : https://www.mediafire.com/folder/xuwc5rxara3av/IL-2_Public
Tab : MODS_IL-2
Tab : Cockpits
File : Cockpit_C-47_L2D_Li-2_NEW_v2.7z

Well you mentioned that you made some improvements to the C-47 3d so I just wanted to check it out. For sure I can live with just the cockpits. In any case I was missing all the meshes towards the end of the hier.him starting from Parts_D0 to the end and I suppose also the relevant mat files and textures.

You V2 sorted everything out big thanks. The new Aviaskins (TD) cockpits are really great

Just a small bug in the Li-2 gunner pit

Just a small bug in the Li-2 gunner pit
;D   ;) This is not a bug.
There are 2 antenna cables and it seems that IL-2 don't allow you to have these longer cables...
This view has been like this for a long time...
Title: Re: DC-3 Family
Post by: Frankiek on March 31, 2024, 11:10:18 AM
I know that there were two antenna cables but one seems to go nowhere so maybe Asura can look into it considering that they have refined a lot of details.

In any case I am not really in to gunnery and already piloting the heavies is a real challenge for my limited skills. So I will leave it to the AI.

Overall this C-47 upgrade is really remarkable

I know that there were two antenna cables but one seems to go nowhere so maybe Asura can look into it considering that they have refined a lot of details.
If you look at the TGunner cockpit of the Li-2 you won't see any cables.
So these cables are those of the Plane (Tail+Keel+wire+...) that the firing post sees.
I therefore think that these truncated cables are a limitation of IL-2.  :-[   :-X
