Title: Lost Maps section in FMB
Post by: wolf44 on June 30, 2023, 02:40:46 PM
Hello!

Trying to load a map in vp modpack 4.1.2.2, for I don't know how many times, I ended up changing something in the game and the maps section no longer appears in FMB. In initlog appears "2023-06-30 22:59:43:593 (watchdog) : IL-2 Main Window destroyed: "Il2-Sturmovik Forgotten Battles" (MaddoxRtsWndClassW), Handle= 0x002003A8
2023-06-30 22:59:43:593 (watchdog) : IL-2 main window (handle 0x002003A8) disappeared, checking process status.
2023-06-30 22:59:43:687 (wrapper) : ProcessDetach, attached Processes = 0
2023-06-30 22:59:43:687 (wrapper) : Total files opened = 159555
2023-06-30 22:59:43:687 (wrapper) : Total search time consumed = 14.674 milliseconds (0.014674077742 Seconds)
2023-06-30 22:59:43:687 (wrapper) : Search Time per File = 91.969 nanoseconds (0.000000091969 Seconds)
2023-06-30 22:59:43:687 (wrapper) : Average Search Iterations required per File = 9.0
2023-06-30 22:59:43:687 (dinput.dll) : JVM Parameters injector deactivated "
Does anyone have any advice for me?

Thank you in advance!

I have DBW, so not sure..., but do you have "all.ini" in Mapmods folder? Did you try download some map and install it? Is this error for all maps?

Yes, check
Is all.ini in MAPMODS/Maps/ folder?

If yes, try to rename MAPMODS to be loaded first.

Thanks! I tried by renaming with "!" in front of Mapmods but no change. all.ini seems to be fine. I have tried to install "LA_CHUTE_Summer_hsfx7_V3" several times for a year. Something is not working as it should. Now I have installed and reinstalled it several times and it seems that I have also deleted what I shouldn't have or disabled something. I don't understand. All maps are affected, although it works in QMB and Career, but not in FMB.
What else should I try?

Thank you!

If there is something left from the objects that I installed for Chute and I didn't delete, can it affect the maps?

You can see more errors by this way: Go to FMB, select some map, after "no load" press SHIFT + TAB, scroll down, there should show white text, make photo of that and post it here by this: https://imgtr.ee/
 (it will make URL).

When the white text appears, it won't let me make a screen save, so I took a picture. I hope it will be visible.

I'll check it, but interesting is - no music? Maybe you don't have music folder.

There is some old topic: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,62795.0.html

Do you have actual buttons for this version, or the old ones?

GL error: 1280 (render3d0)

Do you mean gui buttons? I don't see it and I don't know where to look. The music is fine. In FMB I never had music.

In STD I found the gui button and replace it. Still nothing.

In my opinion, there are missing some files, or there is a problem in load.ini with Open GL or Direct X option...

To be able to help log.lst is needed! look here https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,49972.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,49972.0.html) to find out how to find and provide the log either in its full or relevant parts.

And how can I figure out what's missing, because I also think I deleted something by mistake.

Hello wolf,

just watched the screenie on your post #6.

I have never tried the vp-mod but:

Could it be that you made some wrong setting in "IL-2 Selector.exe"?  ;)

Hello,Gerhard!
Well, I must have deleted something or disabled or reversed something. I do not know. Could you be more specific? The Selector has SAS Modact and 1024 RAM. I look at the text on the FMB screen but I don't understand anything.

Thank you!

If I have to reinstall the game, I thought I'd try B.A.T. mod. From what I've read, it has everything I installed extra in vp modpack and I no longer have to put my clumsy fingers in to install extras. Do you have any advice? Is the map "LA_CHUTE_Summer_hsfx7_V3" included in B.A.T.?

Thank you!

I thought I'd try B.A.T. mod.

Hello wolf,

a very good idea!

With B.A.T. you have everything together what a gamer's heart desires. The game starts fast, is always stable and has tons of different options in one package.

And yes, (see screenshot below) the La Chute Map comes in two versions in the game. But I don't know if this map is the same as the "HSFX" version.

Regarding VP mod:

In your (non-working) game, deactivate any mods that may be installed in the mods folder. Deactivate or "unload" all selected settings from the JSGME.

Delete the last saved file "LastMission.mis" in the Mission/ Quick folder.

Now open the "IL-2 Selector.exe" and set it here: Stock Game.

Start the game and it should work. If it doesn't work, it's not the VP mod. If it works perfectly you put everything back for the VP mod.

Unfortunately I have no information about your computer.

It might also make sense to set the "RAM usage" option to 512 MB in the IL-2 Selector.

Good luck and best regards

With a clean JSGME, with the last mission file deleted and with the Stock Game selector. The maps can be accessed from the FMB. So what does this mean?

Hi Mishy,

that was only the beginning of a possibly possible repair.

Now you try it again with the VP mod, without further mods and in the JSGME you only activate what is required for the VP mod.

Stay tuned and good luck!

Gerhard  :)

Hi,Gerhard!
I also tried the second proposed option. In QMB I solved it with the reset button, now it works fine, but in FMB the maps still don't appear.I installed B.A.T. in a different partition. Now it works. If I can't solve the vp modpack, I will reinstall it.I will wait a few more days, maybe there will be a saving solution for FMB.

Thank you for help!
