Title: QMB problem in BAT 3.8.1
Post by: 9ball on April 19, 2020, 11:26:42 AM

The maps_ru file added to the STD/i18n folder in the BAT patch 3.8.1, causes spelling glitches
in the Maps selector of the Quick Mission Builder. This occurs in DOF, TGA, WAW and JTW.
The problem carries forward to BAT 3.8.2 and 3.8.3.
Removing or commenting out this file seems to fix the problem.

See screenshots below:

Should be ArdennesW.

Should be Berlin and CoralSeaOnline.

Thanks 9ball,

Hi 9ball,

First, allow me to point out the missions you refer to aren't part of the default BAT install.

The solution is as follows: open #MOD3/MAPMODS/i18n/maps.properties and add the missing translations. In example:

Ardennes_W     Ardennes Winter

Hi whistler,

Thanks for this information. I tried it on a couple of maps and it works, but I
must point out that commenting out the maps_ru, also works and is simpler.
So, this raises the question of what is the purpose of maps_ru in BAT 3.8, since
it does not appear in any previous BAT version that I can find.
Their are MAPS files in #SAS/XTD/i18n, but none are _ru. Just curious?

As to my use of non default BAT QMB Missions, I just prefer a greater variety,
and if I run into an issue I try to fix it myself, plus some of the older stuff is just
more fun, IMHO.
Thanks for your help and hopefully you can quench my curiosity.

9ball,

Hi Tobias,

Thanks for that, just water under the bridge now.
My posts title was inappropriate to the actual issue.
I can see how it could have caused upset, bad choice of words.
I apologize for that.
Thanks again.
9ball,
