Title: Ocean graphics glitch, squares
Post by: kaasukahva on December 02, 2019, 04:30:23 AM
I'm getting a strange glitch flying the Zero on the Darwin map in BAT 3.7.2., with the entire ocean consisting of different-colored square tiles that are very clearly visible. I wonder which settings would one look into tweaking to fix this? It seems to be connected to water specifically, haven't had similar issues with any landmass. Grateful for any pointers!

If the water is set to 2 in conf.ini, you have to switch the render from DirectX to OpenGL, set the volume of Hardware Shaders in conf.ini from 0 to 1 under the OpenGL part, than save it. After that, you have to set the Landscape Detail from Excelent to Perfect int the game options. That's worked for me.

Cool, turned out to be slightly more complicated for me but tweaking conf.ini shaders was the solution, thanks for that! In case anyone bumps into similar problems using Nvidia's RTX 2060, I also had to change these from 0 to 1:

TexFlags.TexEnvCombine4NV=1
TexFlags.DepthClampNV=1
TexFlags.TextureShaderNV=1

Water worked at 4.

You may want to compare further conf.ini values with the perfect ones for Nvidia cards as listed here:
