Hi folks,
Today we proudly present the "Pilots Notes for Cockpit Photos" Mod.
This Mod replaces the stock cockpit photos with short "Pilots Notes" which come handy during flight, containing engine operation limits, speeds, general notes of importance etc.

Installation:
This mod is ready to be dropped into your JSGME "MODS" folder.
Alternatively you can extract the files to the IL-2 Great Battles Game folder directly. In that case make sure to use available options properly.
NOTE: This Mod works even when "Enable Mods" is unticked, i.e. you are in "MODS OFF" mode.
Usage:
Activation is from JSGME.
"PNCP Base Version - Pilots Notes for Cockpit Photos" is the base version of the mod. Whenever you want to use this mod, make sure that the base version is activated in JSGME.
5 Options are available:
Option 1 "Metric values for GB and US Planes" replaces speed and altitude values on the notes for british and U.S. planes by their metric equivalents. This is mainly focused on newcomers who are using the game's HUD in order to estimate speed and altitude and who have set their HUD to always show metric values.
Option 2a "German Notes for Luftwaffe" shows the notes for Luftwaffe planes in german language.
Option 2b "Fraktur for Luftwaffe" shows the notes for Luftwaffe planes in "Fraktur" typeface (english language).
Option 2c "German Fraktur for Luftwaffe" shows the notes for Luftwaffe planes in "Fraktur" typeface (german language).
Option 2d "German Sütterlin for Luftwaffe" shows the notes for Luftwaffe planes in "Sütterlin" typeface (german language).
You can only activate one of the "Option 2" versions at a given time as they all touch the same files.
You can activate no option (and just use the base version with english "Typewriter" fontface for all notes), or just Option 1, or just one of the "Option 2" versions, or Option 1 and one of the "Option 2" versions together, that's up to you.

"Flying Circus" Planes are not covered as the required specs are missing.

What a great mod idea. All of these games have always needed a kneeboard feature of some kind. I’ve been printing out cards with this type of info for each plane I fly in BAT. Wish there was some way to implement this feature in 1946/BAT, even as a HUD pop-up.

Has anyone got the checklist for P-47D22, or is the D27 exactly the same?............. also the Hurricane list, I know the 109G6 Late should be out around Tues to Thursday next week.

I'll be happy to get back to this once the devs fixed the indestructible 109 tail, .cal 50 marshmallows (and .303 for the same effect) and the HE nukes.
Until then - and this might very well last till eternity - I'm not even considering to touch anything BoX related at all.
The game is FUBAR in it's current state, why waste more time on it?

If you want to take that pity and make it a reality, you could go over idk 1000+ cockpit files, editing them all manually, adding meshes, materials, etc, adding them to the him files and etc to get that wish to come true~ Not to mention /all/ the engine variation and limits for all existing, and what if engines (especially for those with no data).
Ain't nobody got time for that!

Never wanted to be a nuisance. I was just curious to know if there was an easy way. Sometimes the answer is yes sometimes is not. I’m old enough to know that that’s how things go in real life....

No sass or anything just explaining as to why it probably won't be done and etc so not only him hut everyone else understands too. I feel its important to share it from a modders point of view as to why we can't be fucked to do certain things that seem easy.
For BoX its easy - there's barely a variety of planes in it. Even vanilla 1946 has more planes than they do. And features lmao.

Can you instruct me as to how to change the cockpit photo in the Hurricane, I added this one but it doesn't seem to work for the Hurricane, I can place it in the Hurricane texture folder but it changes back to the photo of a lady. All other photo's work great, it's just the Hurricane I'm having issues with. Thanks TC

Sorry to say but due to the fact that the devs don't care to fix the most blatant issues in IL-2 Great Battles - namely the indestructible 109 tail and the completely nerfed cal .50 guns - for more than 9 months now, and instead advised their moderators to bully anyone who dares to speak about these facts, I decided in return not to play IL-2 Great Battles until this bullshit comes to an end.
For the time being, I consider IL-2 Great Battles a completely fucked up game, and the hole they've been digging becomes deeper with every update / patch released, until the devs finally come back to reason and address the main issues.
But that probably won't happen.
Bringing absolute nonsense payware addons and pre-selling endless content to be delivered when hell freezes over seems to be much more of a business agenda to them.
And as long as their customers keep kissing their asses for this bullshit, as long as Lufties can keep pissing themselves in joy and laughter over the very valid complains, as long as idiocy remains the order of the day, as long one nail after another will get hammered into this game's coffin (it's a game now at best, it might have been some kind of "simulator" long ago but it ain't anymore).
Having said that, I do own the Hurri and I've flown it for one day excessively, just to see that it suffers from the same nerfed AP ammo bug like the cal .50s - yes I know, nobody complains about it, but that's only because those weaky void-brainers always fly the 4 cannon armed Hurri all the time - and the flight model is off all over the place, quite like any other low-quality addon released during the past year.
No game play for me means no further modding and no support either.
Sorry for the rant, but I've wasted almost a thousand bucks on this and have been taken for a ride by the devs in return.

You're probably using a wrong dds format/encoding and therefore the game ignores the file.
(The Hurricane works just fine with already existing image files.)
Look for dds tech specs at the 1C game site.
