The Focke-Wulf Fw 58 Weihe ("Harrier") was a German aircraft, built to fill a request by the Luftwaffe for a multi-role aircraft, to be used as an advanced trainer for pilots, gunners and radio operators.

This is another FSX portover. I've included a couple of skins in their folders to start things off and will post a template once I get it finished. Only tested in BAT 3.6.2 so far.

I have a small issue with loadouts.
The 4x50kg do not drop, no matter what I do.
The 250kg work normally.

Did you open the bomb bay doors?
With mine if you do not open them the bombs will not drop....

Will test with doors later but if so, thats a bit of mixup then. ;)

There are no DOORS that I see .. But in the Pic you see I have them open and they drop ...LOL

:) Thanks for this new beauty. A small suggestion, the dorsal machine gunner protruding from the nacelle with the whole bust, is absolutely unbelievable, it would be more credible if the protrusion limited itself to the shoulders ... sorry for this small criticism. Thanks again for your work. ;)

CWatson has fixed the bomb issue and cockpit, along with the correct pit location and cloned the external wing mesh, placed it inside so you can look out the window and see the wings now.

Hello guys, this is a update of the FW-58 originally posted by Michael Pook here at SAS, it uses nothing from any other posted version so if you add anything it is at your own risk. ;)

Tested in DBW 1.71 and 4.12.2 with SAS ModAct 5.30.
Changes:
The previous FW-200 cockpit folder has been renamed for the FW-58.
The bombs are all external hooks so no need to open bomb bay doors.
The FW-58W now floats, it needs tweaking but works.
There is a 'TypeSailPlane' class file for 4.10 users.
Slight changes to FM to help plane and SSP sit better.
All entries are as before for the air.ini, see original readme for all other information.

Good to know Gubi, thank you very much for the feedback, I tried it in my DBW 1.71 but you can never know if other installs contain things that might stop any update working. :)
Hopefully the update allows all users not just those with BAT to enjoy this lovely model. 8)

I waited a long time for Fw-58 to appear in our game and I am very happy that it finally appeared and I am very grateful to the author(s) of this plane,
I was hoping that there will also be a C (no glassed nose) version of this aircraft, so I'm sorry for the question, but is there any chance that the C version will appear without difficulty in the game?
This is a question from a person who has no clue about modding :-[, so I would ask for your understanding.

Hello Piotrek, taking a look at photographs it seems your aircraft needs both a solid nose and adjustments to the upper fuselage to remove/cover up the gunner position, not quite straight forward to do I am afraid to say. ;)
The nose glazing does not use alpha cut windows as far as I can see so would need to have the open areas blocked up, most likely I think a new nose would be the best answer. The turret parts could be removed, however, the hole would need a new mesh made to blend the fuselage to the rear areas, each of these would then need to be mapped to the existing texture and as there is no template available as far as I know that would have to made or a existing skin modified with new lines and such to help it blend in with the existing scheme.
On top of that are there Lods? I have not looked but if there they need to be adapted for the new solid nose no gunner version. :(
And then there is the new slot and any changes to FM, hooks and so on and so forth. o_O
Providing the changes are all I can see for the 3d then maybe not a mammoth task, however, do not hold your breath waiting for me or someone else to do it at the moment, maybe I might add it to the very long to do list. :o

seems as if this plane is far too fast in level flight. Historically it seems it did not exceed 300kmh, but i had a lot of trouble catching it in I-15bis.

Get a plane and be a wingman... you'll find it hard to stay close to the patrol leader! :D :D

well you need to concede the AI some advantages like sniping you from 1km away or being aware of you as soon as you are close enough to fire otherwise where is the fun.

A nightfighter version would be nice but did they have radar installed? I dont see anything on the wiki. A strafer version would be cool if solid nosed and loadout changed or maybe maritime use fitted with torpedo and shackles
