How do you join the server, and how does it work in relation to BAT upgrades? I have seen reference to 'ultrapacks' but it is not clear how these relate to BAT?
Finally, do you need to commit to playing regularly and how often are their missions/dogfights (based on UK time)

Definitely not through NovaWorld, that's for sure. :))
Other than that your requirements are UltraPack 3 RC4 patched up to the latest patch pack 303 as that is currently what the Flying Ass Clowns are using at the moment since the server started (and has been updated often with cool upgrades and bugfixes and what not). BAT on the other hand is an entirely different install/game of IL-2 Version that isn't online compatible with THE F.A.C./S.A.S DOGFIGHT SERVER (Caps for any smartass that tries to say it's online compatible with the SAS server...
First up you've gotta let us know what version of the game you're running before I can kindly shoot you links...
As for the timings and stuff, we've got the Sunday's sessions with the F.A.C. going on at 2 PM GMT your time, and then otherwise we have the weekly flights on Tuesday and Thursday, with the Chuffy's Flying Circus - bunch of good old chaps who are close to the F.A.C. and more or less your crowd of peeps mostly UK based. I'm not sure but if I recall correctly, their timings are at 8PM GMT your time... Best let one of them step in and say precisely when.

Indeed, Chuffy's prangs are at approx. 20:00 BST on Tuesdays and Thursdays using UP3 on the SAS server as already mentioned, and the 'Guberman' Teamspeak facility (thanks to Gubi) with a good variety of missions found on there with a few chucked in by our esteemed Mission Builders Conky and Bounder.
