Hi all, I was looking at some great vids on youtube about these two very beautiful simulators. They both look very good in their own ways. However, I find the graphically, the Blitz looks more realistic than Il-2 BOX. However the Battle of Kuban does have really amazing ground textures.
Does anyone here share my opinion?

Dunno which videos you saw, but with the right graphic settings BoX' visual representation is second to none, CloD can't keep up with that (by far that is... and yes, I do own and use both).
The future belongs to BoX.
CloD isn't bad in itself, but it's rather a niche product and those who play/support/develop it are at least as much of a bunch of old farts in that game like we are in 1946.

I own both and agree with mike BOS is visually better than CLOD and has a wider range than CLOD with a very narrow focus on on period the Battle Of Britain

We are almost getting there with TOBRUK, mates! ;)
But i agree with Mike, for now, Cliffs is more a niche simulator in its current state.

They both look really great. But to my eyes, CloD looks a bit more real. But that doesn't mean Il-2 BOX is crap or anything. Just graphical comparision.

Probably a matter of taste and the 190 cockpit always looks butt ugly compared to an early 109 with it's thin frames and shiny new dials.

The scenery in BoX currently always looks a tad "dry" compared to CloD, but that's just because we're on the eastern front and not above the great and nice cliffs of Dover, Kuban already looks much sweeter and Bodenplatte will probably compare very well to CloD once the map is available.
You will notice though that sometimes CloD shows slightly more detailed 3D especially in cockpit view, however that's one of the nails that sealed CloD's coffin because they exaggerated details at the cost of performance where the details are barely noticeable, whereas other things that are noticeable to the player (e.g. the damage model) fall behind BoX's level of details by far.

I think it's not just the physical landscape that makes the difference. For me the scenery in CLoD has a more natural feel, and this has nothing to do with the beauty of the landscape. I guess it's because of the atmosphere, which feels either non-existent or highly artificial in BoX. The BoX scenery, however beautiful, looks like an over-saturated postcard or a poster in the window of a travel agency.
I have similar feelings regarding control responsiveness and how planes react to inputs. IMO CLoD found the sweet point for mediocre short sticks, providing a very natural feel almost independently from your actual plane and actual curve settings, while in BoX you can never be fully content with your gear and settings.
All this said, in my limited flight time I've been flying BoX almost exclusively in the past one year...

Who cares, unless you like the 109e model or the early spitfire you are shit out of luck. Me I don't like either of the planes. So don't spend much time in CLOD.
Also that last video of clod isn't the stock game, he's definitely using a reshade injector. The stock games far more washed out, it has that recoloured ww2 footage look, last time I went outside the world wasn't pastel.
