Hi all, I have a question about Radio Beacons
I read how beacon works, with morse messages
Maybe it's a noob question, but in a campaign (Four of June), when I look for any beacon in one mission, instead of the carrier codes I just have "BBC" beacon e "Radio Honolulu" beacon; where I can hear 40's music (not bad for immersion); but can I just use them for having fun during the long flight or they can also be useful to have "directional inputs" on how far I am from those places ?
And "Radio Honolulu" I know where it is, but "BBC" ? should it broadcast from Singapore, because I am in the Pacific, or always from London ? as you can see I am not an expert about radio frequency and broadcasting

This has the fundamental information about the various types of radio beacons in IL2 1946.
I can't speak of any mods dealing with post ww2 radionavigation in the big mod packages such as
BAT , as I don't fly them.

Radios work as normal beacons, you can use them for navigation, given you have the needed instrument - it will show you the direction towards a beacon.
The thing with radios specifically is that anyone can tune them - so you can use a BBC transmiter to say navigate your German bomber to London on BoB map. But that's just an example. It is an object as any other, you can place it wherever you want.
