Some features overview:

1. New Surface Radar with Naval Target display:

You will find radar as one of your cockpits, the controls are self explanatory. When there is a surface contact, you will get a message from your RO.

2. Custom autopilot:

Use your MISC 1 and MISC 2 keys for Altitude and Direction hold. Note that unlike with the default level stabilizer you will have full control over the aircraft.

3. Take off trim:
To make your flying experience a bit more comfortable you can now order your second pilot to set the take off trim for you using MISC 3 key. After that you only need to set your flaps to 25 degrees and set the full throttle.

4. Waypoint Switch:

Now you have a nice waypoint indicator in your cockpit that guides you to the active waypoint. So to make your life easier you can order your Navigator to switch between the waypoints using your MISC 4 and MISC 5 keys.

5. Nose gear management:

just like in a real Tu-16 you can now switch between active and passive nose gear steering mode with your MISC 6 key. Also as in the real plane now you can lock your nose gear before take off with the Tailwheel Lock key.

6. Landing parachute:

Tu-16 is a heavy plane, so you advised to use the landing chute with the respective key.

Thank you for this great addition.

Getting a conflict in 4.12 JTW,Modact 5.3 Engine mod 2.8.11. Franken F-111, SU T6 and SU 24 are dependent on the old franken TU16 cockpit and some other files. For your new Tu16A to work in non BAT 4.12 the dependent frankens need "-" in the sas folder added and // at their "Air INI" entries including the removal of the old franken TU16 A & K folder when using this new TU16 for it to work at this stage. Is anyone else havng this problem or have an alternate fix.

Well in my B.A.T. JTW install I have all of the mentioned mods installed by default. The only thing that I did is removed the old Tu-16A air.ini line and everything works.

Unfortunately I don't have a clean Mod Act install to test.

Hello.

412 ma 5.3 with all mods required.

Thank you very much for this nice aircraft (i can see it on QMB screen ).

But when i play QMB i get a CTD at 30% loading.

Do i need a mod with the B29 radar ?

The Rubin-1K would be installed on Tu-16KSR-2 (with the KSR-2 missile, which we don't have). Considering this is a Tu-16 merged with Tu-16KS (KS-1 missile), the radar would be Rubidij-MM-2. In case of the missile carrier Tu-16KS, there is Rubidij-MM-2 and an additional Kobalt-1M is fitted in the bomb bay.

Maybe badly installed 3do folder, as it cannot find some meshes. Could even be a problem with a different mod.

"java.util.MissingResourceException" lines are no need to care.
They come from only gui.properties file's text alias line missing.

To erase the error message lines, add proper lines in gui.properties file.


"500lbGP_AN_M64A1_M128" is a US 500lbs bomb used in later WWII ~ Vietnam beginning , maybe packed in DreamK's US bomb pack.
Tu-16 might not use it as loadouts, the message might come from another US Jet in the mission (some other AI wing objects ? ) .

All fixed in my 4.12 JTW Modact 5.3 install.

I deleted the old franken TU16 folder completely from my sas mod folder which resulted in not working.

You leave the franken folder in the SAS mod folder.
Paste the the new TU16 foldder directly to the SAS folder merging with the old TU16 Franken folder.

Then remove the old TU16A air. ini line leaving the TU16K line undisturbed.
Paste new air.ini line in place of where TU16A line was.

All done. Happy days

hello, added it in and then after a few seconds of flying, it crashes to desktop. Also affects the stock jets like mig-15. Here is my error log. any ideas?

just tried te a-37 addon and it does it to the A version but the civil one it doesnt. Really confused here. Changed sas engine mod from the orig 2.7 and then the latest and still doing it. Any ideas helpful.

I'm trying to remodel / re-position RDS-4T Nuke in Generation 2016 standard as same as FAB-XXX M46 (gn16) bombs.

That new model will be composed in next Weapon pack Generation 2016 pack .... maybe in 1 week.
In using the new RDS-4T class, the same hook can be used.

I love the Tu-16 and this mod of it, but there is one problem. Every other aircraft runs just fine, but this one lags my game really bad. Is there any way I can get this plane to be less graphically demanding? Any help will be absolutely great! ;D

Il-2 is "friendly" game for old PCs and is not graphically demandig for sure  (You don't have some old PC from end of 20th century, aren't you?  ;) )

There are usually two "problems" for lag in this game, one or both in the same time:

1. The log is enabled in conf.ini file
2. SAS engine mod is corrupted

First, check conf.ini file for log status. It shoul'd be "LOG=0" (Looks like this):

LOG=0
LOGTIME=1
LOGFILE=log.lst
LOGKEEP=0

Then check the engine mod (This part is for Jebediah26).
Check the presence of this two folders, the "engine mod" and the "guided missiles" (picture below).
Download the newest, or try with older version, if you still have it.

To run Tu-16 you need mods marked in blue folders also.

I have learned a very valuable lesson about IL-2 1946, that lesson is you should only turn on the log when you are having technical issues, because if you keep it on, you will experience some lag, and hardcore lag on some planes. I ran a mission with the Tu-16 after I disabled the log and it ran almost completely smooth.

I installed Tu-16 with bumping fix into vpmedia Jetwar addons, all seems Ok except that the plane has incomplete shadows. Is there any fix for this issue or is it between the chair and the keyboad?

There is a known bug in many mods in the game. 3D modeling is not as perfect as we would like it to be. The people who make these phenomenal mods do the best they can. Sometimes, some mistakes happen. There will be fix soon, i hope.

Meanwhile, You can put your chair and keyboard next to the window, natural light makes betther shadows :)

How can we get working Tu-16 + KS-1 Anti-Ship Missiles. (same problem is with Tu-95).

Is there any solution.

Missile reaches target and then fly over or go up to the moon....

There is problem in FMB with weapons change-selection....
