This Mod contains a US clone in it's proper 3-D if selected as country,

Go flat US or go GB cupola, so just switch.

Sorry, a Quick Fix was needed. Had some Java trouble.
Please go for the updated version in Main Post.

Included are needed Navy Incendiaries loadout options.
Found a video in a ww2 reel showing a TBF-1C with leaking Incs and
Rocket Rails mounted. Makes some I hadn't on my list.

Thanks for your patience

TBX is the Cockpit Class found in SAS Avengers Pack.
I assume VP Modpack doesn't have the TBM-1, install it
manually and it should work.

Hope it Helps

To have this plane working efficiently in Vp modpack you must install:
SAS_Avengers_V2 package
Western patch  _SAS_Avengers_V2_03 (please follow the patch installation instructions)
and with RAF BOMBER COMMAND MOD V1.1 only what below:
RAF Bomber Command Mod V1.0
RAF Bomber Command - Blenheim IV
RAF Bomber Command - Fairey Battle
RAF Bomber Command - Halifax III
RAF Bomber Command - Lancaster III (New Model)
RAF Bomber Command - Mosquito IV
RAF Bomber Command - Mosquito XVI
RAF Bomber Command - Wellington III
RAF Bomber Command - WhitleyV

and US WW2 Air-Ground Ordnance Pack Updated 29/7/16

Please, If it would not be a big problem, with all due respect for your hard work, whether it would be possible to equip this aircraft with a 75 gallon fuel tank or one like the TBM-3E?

Familiar, I knew this was lurking somewhere, rotating Bombbays is a bug in IL-2 core code.

This is final, I did what I can.

As for Skins, that's not the end, ASW versions have been added to the Avenger, I'll slowly update my Packages or post new stuff
at M4T as for Skins. This was recently delayed by further work on my Mods. Just keep lurking there and here.

Hope you enjoy them

would it be possible to have a look into the FM of the Avengers?
they have the most abysmal FM of all birds in the sim; they fly like, well, Turkeys-but in all historical glory, they sould perform a little bit different!
they were amongst the easiest planes to land on a carrier while in the sim, they are the worst...

I'm still trying to figure out how to make custom FMs.
Can you name a working FM in contrary, similar plane setup
that is glitch free?

I'll check my sources... Coincidentally, one bird in the Avenger series is actually flyable quite ok IIRC from past experiences, need to check which one, but most of them are just nasty bricks...
For example, on the Tarpon, I have to trim rudder fully right and elevator fully down in order to fly her halfway straight and halfway level without shoving the stick to the up and right corner all the time at..

TBF1
TBF-1C.fmd no trim value, Bombbays

TBF1C
TBF-1C.fmd no trim value, Bombbays

TBM1
TBM1.fmd tweaked Trim, no Bombbays

TBM3
TBM-3.fmd no trim value, no Bombbays

TBM3AVENGER3
TBM-3.fmd no trim value, no Bombbays

I could live with no Bombay if the FM would be better...IIRC it was the TBM-1 that was flying on...it must have been one of those that were added with the Avengers flyable patch long ago IIRC...

Post by: Griffon_301 on April 07, 2020, 05:47:54 AM
I did three carrier landing cycles on a CVE with the TBM and confirm it is flying and landing nicely...if we could adjust the trim values in the FMs that miss them with the ones from the TBM-1, that would be a huge step forward...

Had a small glitch in the last Read Me, should be fixed now.
Make sure to check the correct line in air.ini in the new Upload in first Post.

I'm testing a completely refurbished FM, has corrected weight ratios and overall
speeds to historic Avengers with Wright R-2006. Though it is a early corrected FM,
it surpasses any stock or modded FM we have, in terms of handling and flyabillity.
Will be published the next days, stay tuned

This sits atm on a 2nd Testing Slot,
have more in the Pipe, but Ssshhheeesh ;)
I moved from my old Modding Vista Rig, to my Laptop, working on that brick wasn't funny annymore.

Thanks
Tobias

It's public, please see updated 1st Post again.
NEW FM version for Tarpon and TBF1 for you to try out.

As for the new FM it'll be in final too...

At loadouts there maybe future changes, nothing dramatic. FFEAR loadouts in specific.
Final will be, when we have better UK Arms ready for public and I can add to the Tarpon.

Gentlemen Pilots, swing your Suits and Happy Easter

great job on that FM! now the Avenger/Tarpon is flyable and not wobbling through the air like a shot cement tank...
would it be possible to use this FM for the other Avengers as well, maybe adjusted for power for the earlier, lower powered versions?

I'm not good in FM testing, can't even in hell tell. So basicly late TBM-3s are better too.
As the fmd was changed too there.

New FM changes:
Code: [Select]
TBF-1C.fmd
TBM-3.fmd

classfile amending TBF1 to load TBF-1C.fmd from new FM File
classfile amending Tarpon to load TBF-1C.fmd from new FM File

TBM-1 you should see unaffected, but what with the new FM in TBM-3.fmd,
does this load or do we need a edited Classfile to call it to load that specificly?

I'm asking as I have tested TBF1C and it didn't loaded new FM, but Buttons.

And you do? You probably have logged flying hours in the Avenger too...
Care to elaborate what's so wrong with the new FM?

I would like to know which sources on the FM you have and how an FM would fly like that you have created... Cobble one together and post it, I will gladly try it out and compare it against published values for the Avenger... And please do not refer to some super secret VVS flight tests performed at a secret Russian base ... That joke was good during the first round of FM discussions back when old IL-2 was in its heyday and every Russian forum member of the various SIM discussion boards turned into an expert for Western aircraft performance overnight....

Hello Vasya, To tell you the truth, I haven't done too many tests, in general the Avangers in our game are difficult to pilot, so I'm glad that we're discussing this topic, I also hope that something will come out of this discussion. Big thanks to the author of FM and to everyone who deals with this problem and contributes to the greater playability of our game.

P.s.  I forgot to add that your Polish is very good. 8)

Just a fashion author who used improved fm does not know about it. But he knows very well where she got it.

Have you ever talked to a real Avenger pilot?
I tell you the truth - I have no education in aerodynamics.
Therefore, I think the new corrected FM for TBM is not correct.
Although it does in the game, it reflects somewhat about the behavior of this deck bomber.
Did you like the corrected FM?

I didn't know that, I have to admit that you are really good at what you do with FM planes 8).
Dziękuję bardzo za komplement!

Well, as I am the one who is putting the Avenger FMs through their paces currently I have to say I like them wayore than the original ones...but I am still testing them, meaning comparing values to the figures I have for the Avenger, stall speeds, top speeds, overall flight characteristics etc...
I am lucky in that I was able to talk to an actual Avenger warbird pilot twice in the last few years, once in Duxford and once in Zeltweg and from what I have heard, the Avenger is a very docile, easy to handle plane...perfect for young pilots who CE fresh out of flight school... Compared to the Helldiver the Avenger was a real pilots plane...

I would be very glad if someone who is a connoisseur of aerodynamics wrote the right fm for this naval bomber.
And so it is: for 18 years in Il-2, no one has been able to correct the behavior of TBM.
I don't know how the TBM bomber flew in real life.
You can see the characteristics of this aircraft on Wikipedia.
With fm corrected in a virtual TBM aircraft, most features are similar to real ones, but of course, our game may not reflect all the nuances of real aircraft behavior.
So use the fm you like.
Thank you very much for replying to me!  :)

you´re welcome!

due to the large number of available aircraft, not all (and in fact quite many of them) have FMs that may be off more or less..
IIRC the Avenger (and the B6N) were only introduced to have period correct torpedo bombers flown by AI so correct FMs were not really necessary;
their main purpose was to fly straight and level mostly and serve as targets for the hungry human fighter pilots...
to create a really correct FM would be asking too much I think, as long as stall speeds, top speeds and roll rate are close to real values, that should be ok;
not many people will fly the Avenger I guess and AFAIK, there are only a handful of campaigns that employ it, but one of the main challenges will always be landing it on a CVE and thats where the new FM is a tremendous improvement; you can really "fly" the Avenger onto the deck now, compared to the old FM where you were just wobbling towards it and hope to "crash softly" at the right spot of the deck...

as said, if you also have an FM on offer, feel free to post it; we could really use FMs for the whole bunch of subtypes as they had different engines and could carry more and more payload as their age matured...

also, if you are into FM tuning (something I really would love to learn), there is the Helldivers that have aweful FMs (way to elastic - the Helldivers in game just want to fly/float with roll rates that would make a Hellcat blush, while the real Beasts were just that- heavy beasts that according to one of its pilots "just wanted to kill us whenever we landed on our carrier") IMHO, or the Barracuda, that also has ridiculous handling qualities compared to its real live counterpart...

My vision of how virtual aircraft models should fly I post on my page on the Aviaskins forum.
The author of this fashion TBM just from there and took the corrected FM.
When I finish fm TB-3, then I finish all fm for the TBM-TBF line. Let the author of the fashion more often look at the forum airfare.
But I would very much like to see fm for Il-2 written by aerodynamic professionals. I have a little different education.

Thats a good wish, but I guess that wish will never come true...not in a sim with that scope...
but I guess it would be great to share your work here as well; I do know basic russian and google translate is a good help, but I do not visit aviaskins much...I got me the updated Yak-9P stuff yesterday but still need to see how to get it up and running in my WAW module - the Avenger has a higher priority right now...

so if you want, contact me via PM and we can also discuss the Avenger FM,... nowadays, FM discussions are the only discussions that really interest me as a good FM is the heart of every plane, the better it is, the more I like to fly it....

Okay Friends,

I gave Credit to Vasya and Aviaskins as soon as I implemented his FM. You can read in the Read Me accompanied with this Mod,
in the first Post under Credits. See the date of the post back then.
I do give Credit where due, that's least I could do for respecting others hard work.

I agreed to the DWTFYWWI License, even under my own regularia to Credit properly.

Vasyas FM is cool, and I can't contribute to such Discussions, as I don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Honestly don't have a clue what got tensions up, I'm free to FM discussions, even here, but keep it at a normal Level.
Don't flame each other and all is cool. I see things settled, so knock on wood.

Best wishes
Tobias

Don't worry too much - I'm in no way offended.
All in all - I am very pleased and glad that you have used my fm vision for this naval bomber.
My conversation with Mr. Griffon_301 is just a smile, like a funny story that lifted my spirits. Apparently he did not know that I was the author of the editing on the FM of the TBM aircraft.
Thanks again to this gentleman for talking!
My authorship corrected fm not necessarily indicate, so optional. In terms of views, I am a socialist, something close to Barack Obama. Therefore, in relation to my work in the field of FM correction for playing IL-2, I do not ask for the application of intellectual property rights. If someone liked my work, then everyone can have the free right to use any mod at will.
If you would like to indicate in my credits my authorship of edits in FM, then I do not dispute. There I saw another person's name.

Just a quick appeal...

Per the first posting, this mod needs "RAF Bomber Command v1.1", but the original link for that mod appears to be dead. The author, Slipper, hasn't posted for two years. Any alternate way to get that mod, so we can try out the Tarpon/Avenger II?

Cheers
Herb

OKay, can you do a Test, the prob is these Medium Capacities I'm not sure which is which.
You should run Barracuda, US DreamK Loadouts and Typhoon & Tempest (+Seafury) family upgrade (Beta) V2c update!.

I bet my ass that was the one with the better looking MC, if I remember right my early tests used BC 1.1.

Still I would ask you to PM Gerax for Help on Bombercommand, it's an old important Mod, unless
we don't have better British consolidated Arms. Its better to get an active Link.

In not so far future this dependencies are past. We'll get sth. better. My crystal Ball gave me hint to tell
you all Patience

Any new versions (v1.2 or higher) are available maybe on the "other place".

Hello Gents, This is BC v 1.1 mod which I use in my install, unfortunately I can't share the original file because my external disk has crashed and I lost 98% of everything I had related to Sturmovik.

Work on adding the Tarpon/TBF-1C it's external underwing stores commenced.
Right side has it hanging.

It works fine in a Spotter Role with Flares, independently from Bombbay Storage.
Kukulo and others, including me wanting it for long. Let's see if I get the buggy left side done.

This is what I wanted from this Mod when starting it. Accomplished.
They show up when triggered, not like the Rocket stores.
Today I'm gonna party a bit, my first external Stores I pulled up,
with some Karma guidance by CWatson. Thanks

This is it, I had a Trigger glitch, popped my blurry Eyes and I could swift
the Racks in place. Needs bit fitting. But now comes Testing.

Revamped Post, best I could,
last one from my working Folder, with the Beta Testing of new FMs.
If you happen to have a Backup of the last RElease, I'll add,
this was the last I had here lying up in SFS files.

M.I is the RC, Mk.II not how like it to be, the naming is irrelvant at moment.
Just stick with them until I remember what I was planning to do here.

Have fun
