Could someone make a stack of drop tanks as an object for the game.
This would be so useful for atmosphere. Examples already exist in game for copying. Thankyou.

Ah, OK.
I'll try.
Um .... in 3 weeks.
-
Thanks western0221. For everything.

I begin it .....
The biggest problem to make stack Droptanks is polygon count limit on IL-2 1946 3d rendering engine.
This object is a merged 15x tanks of P-47 108 gal.
But it already reaches almost 3000 poly count and cannot be used on IL-2 1946.
I have to decrease tank numbers down-to 12x to solve it.
Are you satisfied in that style ?

Hi western,
Those tanks look slick!

Don't we have now the DLL-4096-2017 (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,56944.0.html) ?
2. In new DLLs it is possible to use single meshes up to 12,000 polygons per mesh.
But for a guarantee, it's better to target 10,000 polygons per mesh when creating 3d models.
It seems to work and 12 000 but vsezh ...
The meshes themselves as before can be no more than 255 pieces for the whole model of the aircraft
Ie 255 pieces for the extras and 255 for the cockpit.
I have been using carsmaster's new DLLs since day one in my B.A.T.
I cannot tell if they do any good or not, but I haven't had a single issue all these past months... You can probably build two versions of the object (high poly count / regular poly count) and put the new DLLs to the test.
-
... same with me (4.09 version), not only no problem at all with Carmaster's new DLLs but they also fixed the blinking cockpits I had (Freddy's Bf109E3 for ex) ...! 8)
-
well, you could just use one tank and then multiply it in hier.him :-X

Multi msh hier.him style cannot be used for Static Object .
hier.him style becomes Stationary Object with new classfile and impossible to assign maps inside.
Setting many Static Object is normally possible.

I succeed 6+5+4 stacked tanks in 3000 polys.
carsmaster's new DLL ..... umm ..... I cannot decide that has been already standard.
For this time, I keep stock game limitation.

Cool idea ;) ;D

This is stacked stuff which didn't use too many polys so it's certainly do-able.
