Title: The light cruiser of the USA type Brooklyn.
Post by: tvister on December 20, 2017, 10:46:15 PM
Hey. Sorry my bad English. I have modified and imported a model of the light cruiser of the USA type Brooklyn, as of 1943. However, I can not add a reference to the model. When you try to add a link, the message "Sorry, you can not publish external links." If anyone is interested in this model, tell me how to insert links.

Mmm, yes, this is certainly my fault. Many thanks for your comments. All because ini records are used from another project, a light cruiser "Red Crimea" ...

In the next version, I'll fix it...

Excellent work Tvister - thanks for this beautiful ship  ;D
For us Pacific Theatre enthusiasts the Brooklyn Class cruiser has filled a huge gap.

Brooklyn-Class Cruisers -
USS Brooklyn
USS Philadelphia
USS Savannah
USS Nashville
USS Phoenix
USS Boise
USS Honolulu

USS Brooklyn went on to serve in the Chilean Navy (re-named O'Higgins) in 1951, and of course, USS Phoenix was transferred to the Argentinian Navy in 1951, where she was re-named the General Belgrano  (Sunk 2nd May 1982 in the Falklands War).

Thanks again - Hope to see much more of your excellent work in the future

Best regards

Hey. I am very pleased that you liked our work. Of course, there are a lot of mistakes in it, but this is only a WIP version. Now we are working with the modle of the cruiser Krasny Kavkaz. The plans are to create a Brooklyn pack that includes early versions of the Brooklyn and Helena cruisers.

Sorry, I do not speak English well.
Thank you all. The theory of ship modeling for IL-2, we were presented with western0221, and as models for work I used your asheshouse models. My colleagues with aviaskins, helped to understand the basics of 3d modeling, mapping and materials. Of course, some problems could not be solved. It was not possible to create a working searchlight for ships. In addition, it is not clear to me how to change the stability of ships to damage. And yet, I would like to supply the ships with at least a simple AI, at least an evasion maneuver ... I want to add an icebreaker to the game ...
All this can be done, but how, I do not know yet.

Thank you. I missed this mod. Now I do not have the opportunity to see the icebreaker in the game, but it can be fixed. I really want to see in the game icebreakers the type "Krasin" and the type "Stalin". In particular, the auxiliary cruiser, the icebreaker Mikoyan.

Hey. Link is updated, the model is slightly changed. Material slots and double vertices in shadow models are removed. Brooklyn still needs improvement, but now I'm doing another project.

    Thank you.
Sorry for my bad english. Now I'm working with the project "Bogatyr", after which I want to try to create a design Soviet aircraft carrier "Project 71", and finally complete the project "Black Sea cruisers." Further in the plans is to build an assembly of light American cruisers, which, in addition to the Brooklyn, will include the Omaha type cruiser, the Atlanta type and the Cleveland type. Maybe I'll finish the variant "Brooklyn", the cruiser "Helena".
