I'm very proud to release this here for you today. This project has been on the back burner for three long years. It started as just another loadout change and grew from there.
I'm also very proud of the fact that this was finished with the help of an intersite effort.

Barnesy -All new 3D work
Bombsaway -Request, Testing, classfiles, adjustments
SAS~Storebror- Classfiles, toughness adjustments and more.
Epervier -Revised classes, turret code fix, external flight model
Gumpy -Testing
CWatson -Slot,classfiles, adjustments and more.
Thanks to the moders involved she is one tough bird. Th-B-17 was known for being able to take a pounding and still make it home. She is still able to be shot down but can take a hit.

What is she like a super heavy fighter of a B-17 with extra guns fitted? Beautiful work considering as you said Bombs that it was put on the back burner for ages! ;D

To answer Blackace question about the yb40. It was a heavy fighter concept to escort bomb carrying b17s They were not equipped with the ability to drop bombs as there bomb bay was converted into an ammo magazine. The big changes were addition of the radio operator machines gun beiing replaced by a turret with two fifty in it , the waist gunner positions were staggered for better movement and there single fifty was replaced by two . the tail gunners position was redesigned a chin turret was added and the cheek guns were removed in the United States but returned once they get to England. it had double the armor of a standard b17. Performance so as you might have guessed suffered they were unable keep with bomb carrying b17s. The only things that were kept from this were chin turret and the tail redesign
