Title: How much do roads and railways slow up loading time and frame rates?
Post by: ordway on June 26, 2017, 09:15:38 AM
I am making a map that is  about 600 miles long in real life.  Would putting down roads and railroads over it using the FMB unlocked slow things down a lot? Otherwise I will just use trees and unpopulated tiles to make it look like roads.

Thanks!

I don't think so. Roads and railways are texture variants and not objects. They are keyed by tonal variations in the map_t.

Your trees ARE objects and will slow loading time unless they are autogenerated trees.
