Hi guys, I post here in this new topic a little “trouble” when I shift the view from cockpit to external view and vice versa.
When I shift from F1 (cockpit view) to F2 (external view) and again F1, the view is always in "normal view" mode (end key), even though I was started from "wide view" (PageDown key).
In all other modules if I start from "wide view" and shift F1/F2/F1, I come back always to "wide view" (pagedown) mode, or however in the start mode view.
It is not a devastating thing but a bit annoying.... I'd like to know if there is a way to shift F1/F2/F1 and come back always in "wide view"...
In CUP I had this shifting mode and I love it. It seems to me more realistic
Many thanks for all your help.
Ciao!

I have noticed the same, like you I´ve been wondering how that works as the way you describe is preferable. I´ve found that on some, very rare, occations I get back to previous setting when returnig to cockpit, in BAT, I get the same mode! Can it be some setting in Pals vismod maybe?

For me it works the same way in CUP/WAW. When you change from internal to external view (and back), FOV always changes to normal view, it doesn't retain the FOV setting. I checked it with VisualMod disabled, but no change.

This pb already exist in all versions game...
There may be several causes ...
- the cockpit (pilot, gunners) code does not store the type of view used ?
- another Mod interferes ?
- others causes...

I'm not entirely agree. In my BAT installation it happen only in the WAW module. In all other modules all works fine. If I start from, e.g., cockpit view/wide view and jump to external view the view remain in wide view mode and vice versa. This for all views mode. When I start from a mode and shift F1/F2/F1 or F2/F1/F2 the view remain in the same starting mode....
But not in WAW module. Here if I start from "wide view" and jump F1/F2/F1 the view return always in "normal view" mode; also if I jump only F1/F2, the view sets always in "normal mode".
Is it possible to check for views mode in the conf.ini? Where the views are setted?
Thanks for your help! Ciao!

Marco, you're right, it's a WAW-specific issue. Stock 4.12.2, HSFX, VPMOD, and SAS Modact on 4.13.2 all retain the FOV state when you switch from internal to external view (and back). Conclusion: there is something in WAW (both in CUP and BAT) which is responsible for the different behavior. VisualMOD has nothing to do with it, as I had it enabled when testing VPMOD.

Hi Sniperton, I haven't this problem in CUP. I have this problem only in BAT module WAW....
In my jsgme I have activated only "stabs4all" for all modules.

Strange, I have it in CUP too (I have no BAT installed), and if I remember correctly, I have only a smoke effect mod and Mission Pro Combo enabled. Anyway, I'll check it without them as soon as I get home.

Many thanks Sniperton!!

Tested with all jsgme mods disabled, that is, in "clean", unmodded CUP/WAW #21, and the same behaviour as you have in BAT.
I'm pretty sure it's something WAW-specific, probably due to a non-optional mod build into WAW, which neither other modpacs, nor the vanilla game has.
ATM I have not the faintest idea how we could regain the old functionality where FOV setting is retained when changing view. :-|

Thanks Sniperton, I hope to regain the old functionality where FOV setting is retained when changing view in the next BAT expansion packs or BAT Service...

Workaround: If you disable Tiger33's flyby sounds by enabling the #WAW_00-KILL FLYBY option in JSGME, you'll get back the old functionality, that is, FOV setting will be retained when changing views (F1 / F2).
-
Many thanks Sniperton, I will try this soon as possible. I must to get the #WAW_00-KILL FLYBY from CUP and put it into jsgme?

It's included in BAT. Fire up JSGME.exe, activate the option, and let it go.
(Meanwhile I installed BAT and this solution only works in BAT. I couldn't figure out how the same could be done in CUP)

Hi Sniperton. Done! It works! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Many thanks for this great suggestion (for me at least...)!
I think this topic could be labelled as "solved"
Ciao!
