Title: A-4 SKYHAWK FLOATING BOMB RACKS
Post by: kozmik on January 27, 2017, 03:16:10 PM
I feel that I have successfully installed BAT.  Most areas seem to run well enough. I used CUP to develop an Viet Nam Campaign. In attempting to do this again in BAT I find my A-4's [with certain wing loadouts] have the MIR's [multiple ejector racks - or bomb racks] floating above the wings. Looking closely, I find that the associated bombs below the wings are not attached. This does not seem to impact the use  of the ordnance but is a bit discerning for a former "Scooter" driver.  Other members of our squadron have the same anomaly.
Additionally, the A-4 is difficult to launch off the cat without drastically reducing the gross weight [ fuel or bomb reduction].
The plane was beautiful in CUP, but had similar launch problems. A modern catapult system can sling a Skyhawk off the deck with a BIG load, I have done it.
I wonder if there part of the load that we may have screwed up or if there may be a forthcoming fix?

P127

I have explicitly stated that its fixed.  Weapon hooks are part of a larger project unifying the modern weapon systems so that all Jet Age aircraft can be properly armed.  The updated Skyhawk will be released when it is complete.  Its all in there, on page-27.  Meanwhile there are options...

Cat launches depend on Ship/Year/Catapult.ini settings/aircraft/fuel/payload - You can test from QMB - JTW-Navy Trials or build in FMB and post the mission if you need further assistance.
