Anyone else having trouble with ag Woodlark Island showing up in QMB or FMB?

No problems here - just sent a recce plane to check

as you can see recon confirmed no issues or enemies near the Woodlark Islands

ok, I have no problem with that map in CUP, but for some reason in BAT which I have no apparent problems with through expansion pack 2, I get a texture buffer error on this map
the FMB wont load it due to a byte limit that is too small it says

Any idea how to increase the byte limit for texture buffering?

I guess it means that 2048 size textures in tga cant load

I'm having the same problem with both Woodlark and JTWCrete.  In addition to the texture buffer size error , JTWCrete reports an error with a texture, Summer2048/UuffMTWhite02.tga.

I'm running an AMD card so I use the config posted by SAS~Storebror for max ATI cards.

Is this a high resoultion problem?

I added an old copy of the map from DBW and then resized all the textures from 2048 X 2048 down to 1024 X 1024 and the map now works,

but that seems like an extremely time consuming and unnecessary process that is clearly not the intention of the creators of BAT.

Do I need to add a mod or something?  Is it a confi.ini issue?

Woodlark loads in FMB for me np...However, whenever I try to spawn at any of the land bases my aircraft is either 'In the air & crashes down' or spawns into an airbase structure such as nearby camo/mesh covered dispersal point.

There are so many settings and variations.  We do test across a wide variety of machines.  This may have something to do with CONF.ini?  Here's mine anyhow:

It seems to be a graphics card/chipset type I thing.  I notice your running water=4 which is a card killer for some.  I have tried perfect-vs-excellent and still had no luck.  It is not exactly a heart breaker but it would be nice to know for sure and be able to label such maps to alert players and head off 'this map don't work' posts from new players.
It's a good thing graphics cards are only in virtual reality.  Imagine driving your car and your foot goes thru the floorboard due to a clipping error.

yes. but not a problem when you read the manual, its described there how to solve
this problems with hi-res on page 6. Also this was discussed in the "CUP becomes BAT" thread,
and in some other threads in BAT tech help section iirc.

WTE_Sikshoota, do you have problems when you run a offline mission on this map?

Its hard to label maps a problem when they ain't!  Honestly I am not a technical guy, just linear and reasonably thorough...

jpten, Jim to his mates,  ;D does understand QMB Missions very well and is helping me to straighten them all out by going deep into the object listings and adjusting everything for the latest B.A.T.  I have been working on the Jet Age missions and we have made some very good progress.

I might suggest, as Gerhard also hints here, that the alternative BATDLLs are well worth a look.

Otherwise we still have a heap more than anywhere else...

I had wondered about the alternative DLL option but, as stated, since I am going thru every QMBPro missions I did not want to explore that option and change the testing environment.  When I had finished the last phase I was going to load those and go back thru and check.  If there are some glitches that are solved by the 2nd set of DLLs, I would expect they might produce a problem somewhere else.  But then, I expect anything to cause problems.

I had no woodlark map or Lancaster,put in dll 2, had a Lancaster flying over the woodlarks, try it worked for me ....kev.

I know you guys won't be surprised to hear this, but I have a question.  I also do not have some of the maps (BAT and CUP).  Specifically, I don't have the Woodlark Islands one or Rabaul or Crete (ones I know of so far) in QMB and FMB.  I tried the two BATDLL's 01 and 02, downloaded them fresh,  unzipped them straight into my BAT folder but to no avail.  To better explain, I like to look through "our" forum to see what all the smart guys are saying and when mention is made of something I like to try it.  As is the case here, I very often get into a discussion which I don't fully understand, and that is why I usually have to bother you.  Do I read here that issues such as mine are being looked at, and that I am not the only one with the problem?  So should I just stand by and a fix should come along?  Have I overlooked something?  Thank you for any advice you can give, as always.

I dont know if this is accurate, but I can report that in my efforts, when I put the 2nd Dll set in after putting in all the expansion packs, I still had problems with maps and some other things.

Then I went back to scratch and put the second dll set in after installing BAT with no expansion packs.  That fixed all sorts of issues.  Then I put in the 5 expansion packs, and all is well.

just a short explnation: both maps, woodlark and crete were made using 2k hires textures.
Therefore this dll2 thing.  :)

this thead gets a "solved" now.
