Say that again ? o_O
This is the first time I ever heard of such an error. Very strange.
Check and look inside your Kikka Mod-airplane folder and the folder named "summer" has 4 skins.
Their sizes should be...
1024x1024
512x512
128x128
32x32
If these skins are in this size as posted above, you should be able to use and change all skins.
You can even use the HD skins which are sized 2048x2048 (by using the "HD skinmod").
All my skins are in a normal size of 1024x1024. Good for those people who are not using any HD skin-mod.
All skins are also in BMP game format and saved with "Bright" for no loss in details and colors.
This is the first time I ever heard of such an error in a mod-game.
Very strange , dsawan

Ok, got it working but in the two seater not the main plane or single seat one.

Say that again ? o_O LOL
These skins are for Skin Folder J9N1-Kikka
and should fit better on the single seat fighter plane version.
The 2 seater skins will be diferent in some details.
Why canĀ“t you use these on your single seat fighter plane?
This is a very strange error you have in your game.
Are you using an HD-Skin (2048x2048) as your DEFAULT skin? - which is inside your "Summer" folder?
You should never use HD-Skins as a default skin.
This some times brings up errors with other skins in your game.
It has happened to my game before. So I always make the default skin in 1024x1024 size.
-
hi, all id id was got the new version as I had the old kikka that you posted and installed over the old version. Should I have removed old version completely?
-
Hi, just took out the old flder and put in the new one. Still same. Only works with two-seater. I did not change anything in the models folder.
-
I had the same problem with the single seater, and the solution is to open them up in an image editing program, change them from "indexed" to "RGB," save the skin, and it should work. Why normal 1024s don't work for it, I have no idea, but "RGB'ed" ones do. Simple enough fix, really, and if you'd like I've even converted them all so I could post them as an alternative link for those also having issues (provided max would be cool with that...).
-
cool, thought i was going senile for a time. ta183 if you could post alt link that would be great esp for newbies.
-
I'll wait for Max's ok first. It's his skinpack, he should have the final word in this.

Here it is, the link to the "alternate" skinpack (ie, different filesize and file particulars)
Hopefully these work for y'all! Enjoy!
-
I had 0 problems with them, put them in the folder and good to go.
-
Thank you Max. they look fantastic. :)

Thank you Max!

The issue with skins not showing up on the single seat Kikka but on the Trainer only is an issue of the base mod.
The Kikka ships with faulty default skin textures, missing dependencies from "new wheels" mod textures etc.
In particular, while the 1st release version of the Kikka mod shipped with a 4096x4096 default skin texture and hence only worked on games with HD mod installed, the current version ships with a 24bpp default texture tga file whereas it should have a 32bpp one.
It's not the fault of this skin pack, it's an error in the Kikka mod.
You can download a quick fix here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/zqcbh1pjx715sdb
Just extract to your "#SAS" folder and overwrite the existing default skin.
Best regards - Mike

Excellent work yet again Max, thank you very much your work is always very much appreciated. 8)
I also have the same issue with the skins only showing on the two seater, thank you very much for the fix Mike I will give it a try soon. ;)
Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D
-
log.lst would be nice.
Try to select a skin -> fail -> log.lst.
Best regards - Mike

Thanks Mike! I've got all skins (both 1024x and 2048x) working correctly now. :)
-
Hey Max
The reason that my "fixed" skins worked is because I saved them as RGB format skins instead of indexed.
For whatever reason, RGB'ed skins in 1024x resolution work just fine with the HD mod and a/c with HD defaults. Why? I have no clue.
So that's the main difference between the ones I put up and your originals. RGB instead of indexed (and the filesize is 3 mb instead of 1)
But now with the fix, it doesn't matter, so that's good. Thank you to both you and to Storebror for the skins and skinfix!
-
yep they work now. Thanks to all for the fix.
