Title: Singapore - retextured, retowned, revillaged

Hi pilots!

Almost one year I worked on this large map from Pacific collection. One year full of study photographs, books, old maps and movies. And now - the D day is here! I made two Singapore maps, just like in default game, so - Singapore1 havn´t airfields in Sumatra and north Malaya. Singapore town is very good reconstructed, I think. All harbours, civilian airfield Kallang, parlament buildings, football playgrounds and so one.
I reworked completelly terrain (with microdem - great instrument!), and some rivers.
  So - enjoy it!

Downloading now!  :)

Besides making great maps you know how to make good trailers. But this video is my favourite one. The music score, the fading in of historical images, everything. It all blends nicely together.
To my feeling it is one of the best IL2 videos I've seen in years.  8)

How is the entry for all.ini?

Thx

No need to add new entries for the all.ini.
Cyberolas' version  is a repaint of existing stock maps:
Singapore singapore/load.ini
Singapore2 singapore/load2.ini

Drop the downloaded folders where they belong in your modded install and you are ready for take off.

Beautiful work. Let the campaign building begin...

A couple quick questions. Should the coastal town labeled Maui actually be Maur? What is the difference between Singapore1 and Singapore2?

Mr. Motorhead!
You have still the WIP version map, haven´t you? Because there are wrong buildings positions in your first, second and fourth screen.
These screens are from north Malaya, aren´t they?

Mr.vonofterdingen
Singapore1 is the same as Singapore2, without airfields on Sumatra and north Malaya.
Muai is really Muar, but Muai is the name in default game, I think.

Dear Cyberolas,
congratulations for your work.
However when I call the maps Singapore and Singapore 2 on FMB I get a blue screen.
When I launch the campaign d-singapore I get a strange image with an image in the image.
On my log.text I get a warning : can not set vpVAProgram. I use CUP WAW20.
As far as i remember I could launch the game but without the last improvements
What did I do wrong.
Loaded once again. It works. Youpee!
Best regards.

By the way... Sorry for ignorance but what is correct way to install new map in CUP?

I assume it should be put into mapmods/maps, but CUP has such subfolders in four folders: #SAS, #JTW, #TGA, #WAW.

cyberolas, awesome map!  I found something that's not a big deal but there are trees in the sea on the east side near the islands.  Probably on tiny submerged islands due to global warming  :-|

To avoid  trees in water or invisible/immaterial ones change forest 3 to forest 2 in the config.ini

Dimlee CUP's sequence :  #WAW\MAPMODS\Maps.

Just drop the map folder inside the maps.

Copy/paste the all.ini and put it in the all.ini that sit inside the MAPSMOD\Map folder.

Imho its really not a problem which would effect this map.
Invisible trees in OpenGL only happen when a non-standard tree is used with forest=3.
The trees used by this map (House$FurnitureTreeLine) work fine with forest=2 or 3, they dont have the invisibility problem (but you need forest=2 in unlocked fmb).

The trees in the water problem can be fixed in unlocked fmb by painting tile/water to that place or via load.ini by adjusting the texture parameter (add ",2" at the end of the line ) which has those trees.

Thanks but... not clear.

1. What folders of new map pack should be put inside #WAW\MAPMODS\Maps?
Only \Singapore folder or \_Tex folder as well?

2. All.ini does not exist in new map pack.  Could you explain this step in details?

OK, please ignore my questions.
I dropped both folders of the map pack into \#WAW\MAPMODS\Maps - and it works, I can use new maps (Singapore 1 and Singapore 2) in CUP WAW. No changes in all.ini were done.
I did not try any missions there yet, but hope there'll be no problems.

Probably it will work for JTW and TGA as well, I'll check that later.

Thanks for hints!

Don´t rewrite load.ini. Show me places, where are trees in water and I will try to edit map_T.tga.

Hi. How do I put the map into il2? can I use it offline?
That depends on game version you use. Please see my message in this thread dated 21.09.16 about how I make it workable in CUP WAW. By the way, the same method works in JTW.

Yes, you can use it offline.

Here is a 'How to install maps' topic: http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,37295.0.html (http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,37295.0.html)
Read the first part of Boomer's post.
No need to worry about the all.ini entry he is talking about. Since it is an existing map no entry needs to be added.

Been pretty busy rescently, and had little time to check in, so i missed this release!

Wow, what a lovely map! Cyberolas, thank you yet again for your work.

As stated earlier, the ability to fly over top quality maps without DL'ing dozens of objects is a pure joy!

Regards!
Fresco

I enjoy this map very much, too. By the way, is there a new RRR map in the works? :)
