The Dawn of Flight Flightline comes of age!
At last its here!  This is very significant to me since it is the single aircraft that has so far eluded my attempts (and those of others) to get it working in 412 alongside the rest of the DoF Flightline.  Its absolutely beautiful and difficult to takeoff and land without ground-looping which is just perfect.  You need a good touch to fly this aircraft safely and that makes you feel like a proper pilot.  Very very welcome, thanks Gio and DreamK for its own slot.

Issues;
The cockpit flash is a bit heavy and affects the 'hood_summer.tga' in the cockpit.  I would like to get rid of the flash but we can live with it until we have an upgrade.

The single 30Kg Bomb Option hangs below the aircraft without an obvious pylon or fixing.  Again its a small thing, these bombs were often attached with simple strings anyway.  None of these small things detract from a brilliant mod by gio963tto.  I mention them so that everyone is aware.

Of course its not all about you!  The AI have these and there is a good static model too, thanks to Mission_BUG.  The LFG Roland D.II was introduced into service late in 1916 and is known to have been used by Jasta 25 at their Canatlarzi base in Macedonia in 1917.  So expect to see this baby cropping up in late Palestine campaigns and over the Western Front too.  Coming to a campaign near you...

WWI Weapons and Sounds updated.
All DreamK loadouts re-tested. - All good!
Dawn of Flight has its own unique soundset and weapons.

Hi Monty, as usual your work is perfect. Easy to understand, rich of potential and no head lock. Your production is as well as Airbus and Boeing. Do you never sleep ? Thank you thousand time.
I have 3 questions : first, in DOF when i shot an aircraft, he don't simply crash but jump many many time on the ground. My victory is not count.
Secondly : when i open QMB, the list of maps cover all my screen (24") and itis very difficult to click on the others items to complete the scénario. What do I do not do well ?
Thirdly : I want to have a tutorial for QMB. Does it exist. In french would be perfect !

Hi spad42
The damage models, particularly some of the earlier WWI mods, are not as complete as later ones.  The light weight and different flight models are also factors.  More models may well be improved in time.  But the player can die in anything!

Second I think you actually refer to the FMB - Full Mission Builder - maplist.  JSGME Activate #CUP_00-PALsMissionProCombo-v4122 is the solution.

Other FMB stuff, in order to increase your knowledge, is worth searching for around the site.  Kiwibiggles has written some good tutorials and we shall be collating all of those.  Other Translations of the work, and the CUP Manual should also be possible to organise from our talent pool here at SAS1946.com.

best regards

Simon

Ah, good, the Roland. It was in 2 campaigns I'm working on. I had substituted the SSDI. Now I can put it in it's rightful place.

Hello Simon, Thank you very much for the latest update, greatly appreciated. 8)

first, in DOF when i shot an aircraft, he don't simply crash but jump many many time on the ground. My victory is not count.

Sadly I can confirm the above post by spad42, certainly in regard to the Morane Saulniers I worked on:

(http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm42/Mission_bug/Album%202/Bugs_zpsuqmoinzq.jpg) (http://s293.photobucket.com/user/Mission_bug/media/Album%202/Bugs_zpsuqmoinzq.jpg.html)

Issues like this were reported in the Morane thread and thankfully Mike was able to point me in the right direction
as far as a fix was concerned, it looks like you did not use the last update I added with those necessary fixes, take
a look at this post please:

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

I will do.  As these were not made in 412 there was a lot of hunting for fixes and additional bits involved, so I will be happy to try these and see what happens.  Thanks for your help here mate, let's take a look... 8)

Dear Monty thanks never be enough...but a thousand thanks to you for your fantastic job!  :)
Someone in the forum (at the moment  I don't remember well in which reply to you but I read) wondered if you sleep ever... ;D
I have only a thing to say:
Before updating these last parts of DOF I like very much the sound of WWI planes machine gun.
Now something has changed  :(
I read in your notes that something in this sense has been revised...or maybe I got something wrong.
Best regards.
Poiana.

I've got to ask the obvious questions about the Roland: How did the WWI pilots see forward, and more importantly, how does a player see forward in DOF (short of using the No Cockpit view)?

Also, there appears to be an iron gun-sight between the pylon and the top of the instrument panel, but it's not fully visible. What is that?

Dear Monty after installing DAWN OF FLIGHT SOUNDSET - 01 many of planes' machine gun have returned to his beauty WWI sound (ta-ta-ta-ta), especially the germans.
Ok, but there are still some problems with some plane's machine gun.
Visualizing all the planes I have also found other bugs and in any case I state that perhaps depends on my installation  (or my DOF) but I would ask you to check you too (or some other nice guy).
Maybe some bugs were present before and I had not noticed them and I apologise for this.
Below a list:
N.B. where I write "no WWI sound" I mean no ta-ta-ta-ta sound but a softly sound like the WWII machine guns.

Aviatik B1 : no WWI sound (others Aviatik are ok)
AEG C IV: rear gunner machine gun has a strange echo as if it hit the fuselage.
AEG C IV N : same as above.
Hansa Brandeburg C.I (polish version): the upper wing gun doesn't work
AEG G IV bomber: same problem as AEG C IV
Friedrichshafen G.III: no WWI sound and double gunner view options
Zeppelin-Staaken R IV: no gunner view
Morane Saulnier H/I/LF/LF/LF2/RG: no WWI sound
Morane Saulnier LA/LR/LRG/LP early and late: front and rear machine gun no WWI sound
Morane Saulnier N is OK
Nieuport N4A/10/10C1/11: no WWI sound
Nieuport 10 AR: no WWI sound and it's impossible to jump on rear gunner view
Sopwith Trench Sweeper: no WWI sound
Sopwith Camel and Snipe: no WWI sound (and to me seems quite worst than alotef's mod shows)
Hanriot HD1 France: machine gun doesn't function (Hanriot HD1 italy is OK)
RAF BE2c/skis: no WWI sound rear gunner echo as AEG C IV
RAF BE2 Night: no WWI sound
RAF RE8c /Bristol F2B: no WWI sound also rear gunner
Ilya Muromets S25 G3/S 23 V: no gunners view
Caproni bombers (all type): no WWI sound
Caproni Ca42: no gunners view
Sopwith Schneider: no WWI sound
Handley Page 0/400: no gunners view
Curtiss felixstone (both type): no WWI sound

Maybe I've annoying you  :(
Thanks in advance.
Poiana.

I think the Rolland is the only DOF a/c that you can't see your target by using the control keys "lean left " "lean right " "crouch down" "rise up" etc

 :D

Mind you, it appears to be modeled pretty accurately......

Haven't really located a clear photo depicting pilot seated in the Roland. A few model aircraft sites show models with a pilot whose head seems at least positioned slightly above the top of the wing. Tried controls to adjust head position in DOF but I never get above the wing and can't see the bullet stream. Must have been tough to fly this one.

Hi ..Have installed DOF up to Part 12B and all working as advertised.. Can anyone offer advice on Rotary Engines?

I have set up Keys for the magnetos and the do affect the speed/power of Aircraft..  Problem is that all Rotary Engine aircraft crawl along on 2 magnetos and overheat,burn-out or ignite on 2+1  >:(

eg E-111 max 80kph  DR1 max 100 kph,  Pup max 100, Camel 100.
 Any hints welcome

First of all, i want to thanks all people who worked very hard to give us the best experience possible with all those mods, i really appreciated your efforts.

Now i want to report something weird concerning the FM of the Fokker DVII. That plane jerks and shakes around all the time o_O and was wondering if something exist to fix it.

Switch off the Engine Overheat thing in Difficulty. It is far too sensitive.

Jimbo947 & Carcajou101............Welcome to 1914-18  :D

To answer most of your questions would take quite some time so I suggest you read the Fokker EIII Eindeker thread especially bottom of title page ,reply #79 . #83 and my reply #87.......

"  I love the E III ( and all the a/c we've got with full engine management) one of the joys of DBW 1916 is listening to the engine and then adjusting the settings to make the old girl fly as best as possible....
I fly the E III as the original boom'n'zoomer.....first stalk your target at maximum distance....approach on their blind side......rise slowly (very slowly) 500m + above them....shallow dive ( too steep and the wings will come off and engine will over rev and seize up).. aim for the pilot ( I've found that the Farman and the Be2c will take an awful lot of hits before burning and you've just got the one m/g !)
Generally, you've got one chance to strike as I've found the Farman & Be2c will outrun the E III comfortably  >:(  "

You'll also find that some a/c are very prone to overheating....the Sopwith Strutter comes to mind.....take David's advice and switch the overheating button off in the difficulty section.

It's really a case of using the tiny amount of power the a/c makes to your advantage...................to kill your adversary  o_O  :D
If all else fails have a go flying the Pfalz E I which actually has A THROTTLE CONTROL and a bit more grunt......

Well spotted Carcajou101....... the Fokker DVII is the problem child of the family ....it's had that "tic" ever since it was built and has baffled everyone since......including all of our resident FM/ Java geniuses....if you're any good at Java , have a go at fixing her....if you do you'll make an awful lot of people very happy  ;D

Cheers

Alfie

hi guys
finally got it together yesterday, and started installing CUP.
MME module 1 went fine, and the first module i did so far also seems fine, DOF up to this part 12.
just some initial questions on DOF - i see there is no VisualMod or QMB Pro type mod with DOF, is this correct, or am i missing something?
in the JSGME selection, the only DOF mods there are 6 various mods concerning the Camel (also, no description there - what do those do?) and one for the DEF-SKIES.
that's all  i have for DOF in JSGME, is that correct?
thanks in advance
