C.U.P. Module 05 The Golden Age Pt-5

RESTORE POINT INSTALL TYPE: 

1) JSGME DISABLE ALL OPTIONS

2) In your Main Il2 directory rem out (rename with a -) your current #TGA to -#TGA

3) UnZIP/UnRAR 'C.U.P. Module 05 The Golden Age Pt-5' direct to your Il2 Main Directory and allow overwrite.

4) ENABLE JSGME Options to taste.

5) Delete old -#TGA at your convenience.

FILE STRUCTURE OF THE GOLDEN AGE:
The new mod folder is similar in layout to #WAW.  Which is why you must throw away your old one.

SOUND IN THE GOLDEN AGE:
The TGA SOUNDSET is much improved overall, louder and stronger throughout.  However, Tiger33's Flybys have proved impossible to fully integrate.  The problem is that too many older mods are incompatible.  With World at War, the environment Tiger33's Flybys was designed for, most aircraft are good and only a few are indifferent.  The Golden Age is a cross-over between the wars and too many older aircraft types use different sound formulas.

On the plus side; TGA now has NO SPECIAL SOUND REQUIREMENTS.  Throw away JSGME TGA-SOUNDS because the new sounds are MUCH better!

KNOWN ISSUES:
Loadouts:
Vultee 1A bomb loadouts cause 6DOF error.

VulteeV1AR.2xFAB50+1xFAB100 causes 6DOF error.
All other Vultee V1AR Loadouts are good so its still a great bomber.

Junkers-21 4X20Kg Loadout causes 6DOF error.

We have been here before and will certainly improve the loadouts in time.  Meanwhile none of these issues are game breakers although its good to be aware of them.

Thanks Gaston - Seen that wonky prop before and had the fix.  It will be rounded up in TGA Part-06, which will not be far away as we need a few more FMB features for the campaign makers too.  8)

Classfile B44652EE36C23D32 is correct in the download.

Check for duplicates in your install I suggest.  There can be only one...

Sorry to bother you but I have more or less finished converting a 24 mission campaign
(S.C.W.... Espagne.....By Thierry Duruz released in sept 2005) I have used the Module 05 -The Golden Years
when converting as it is now set in 1938,
 I would like to include U_2vs(SHKAS) static aircraft.
It is not showing as static but the flyable version was added with module 05 which I have now used.
My intention is to upload the campaign to mediafire for all to download ASAP.
By the way I have asked and got Thierry permission to upgrade the campaign to CUP standards.

Simon many thanks to all involved in the latest upgrades,could I just ask you about something ive tried,i have never had waw flames in golden age except on 109s although the flames are ok in waw,so I minused out tga engine mod and copied over the waw engine mod and the flames work now in both eras,i just wondered if this could cause problems in areas of tga that would be obvious to you,in the limited testing ive done everything seems ok so far.many thanks again kev.

Hi Stan

great work, Thierry Duruz campaigns are excellent!

I have recently upgraded all the statics for TGA Part-06 so it will be there.  Also added flapping flags, ambient sound (which is so good you should check it out), moving windsocks and the birds for FMB.  We have C&C 412 in there too so the 412 FMB for The Golden Age is now complete.

It will be wonderful to see threads for TGA Campaigns soon, I am also working on updating a few...

TGA Part-06 will be up by the weekend.

Great news ,it will mean a slight delay in the upload but I hope it will be worth it.
And hello to Gaston again it may be an old campaign but its great to fly or just place it on auto ,

I always thought so but was too shy to ask.  I'm your biggest fan!  The Flying Tigers was a masterpiece!  Remember how you got all those aircraft spawning from dispersal when the Japanese raided one of the jungle bases in Northern Burma?  You actually started from the scrim-nets - and this was back in 408!

With all the things that 412 changed and broke the ability to do that again, even simpler this time, is the best thing that ever happened to the modded Il2.

We must get all of your stuff together and give it the 412 C.U.P. treatment don't you think? 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

BTW, campaign movies usually have to be remade from one version to another...

Sorry to disappoint you, Monty... but Flying Tigers on FB 2.04 was not made by me, but by my excellent friend Obélix !

I did the same as him (parking spawnings) in my Tintin campaign on FB 2.04, at the same period (10 years ago ? 2004 ?). To do so became impossible when PF came out. But it came back (diffferently) with 4.12.

This apart, thanks for your kind words !

And if anyone want to do so (put my old campaigns to 4.12), no problem ! as it came out, it became public ! the only thing to do is to respect proper credits. That's all. :-|

My apologies on that one Thierry but I had loads of your campaigns back in the day.  I can't be wrong about the Swiss 109s that had to escort He111s out of their airspace when they were ilegally cutting corners?  Then there were the Italian and Pacific campaigns, you tell some great stories.

Successive installs and upgrades have seen a lot of material put aside since then.  Was it really 10 years ago?

I am hoping that C.U.P. will stabilise the situation and take us forward without breaking any more mods.  I want us to re-build those glorious campaigns and make them even better with the new features we now have.

Yes, more or less... it is 10 years I did not create any new campaign. I just upgraded one or two between 2006 and 2014 (Tintin, SCW and the Swiss campaign, for example, available at checksix), and that's all. But if I remember correctly, they were all originally made between 2002 and 2005... I did not do any since : Lack of time, due to real life... also, when Pacific Fighters came out, it was not possible anymore to do parking spawning because of the introduction of the carriers. And this made my interest go down...

Hope some day, when there will be less stress in my Job, I will have time again ! but I fear not, unfortunately...

No need if Stan is on it, I meant everything else.  Have got onto CY6 site now.  There's a wealth of material especially on the Battle of France and the Low Countries.

It strikes me that a lot of people are talking about BoS and CloD and SoW when the modded Il2 has so much more potential if only people would learn how to get the best out FMB.  They have no idea.  But we will show them...
