Thanks at you ! ;)

Thank you a lot, Greif!
Amazing details! An old love of mine and a good companion for my "Pacific War" campaign.
But there's a shortcoming in my opinion: the "pee-pee fireworks":
(http://s29.postimg.cc/6w4nzv7vb/Greif_Beau_Pee_Pee_Fireworks.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
when cannons are fired. They disturb aiming and impede it entirely at night (I think of a night fighter version for a future upgrade of my "Night Fighters" campaign) not to mention they are quite unreal, given the guns were underside.
Cheers,
GB

Some old or missed class files caused that texture Bug
In my case was solved by SAS~Epervier by adding class files for US_GB weapons

Wow, that's a wonderful X'Mas present, Greif11 ...! :P
Many THX for sharing ...! :-*

Thanks, but those class files changed only the nuance from "pee-pee" to "gold". Could we have a "no-flash" option? (Epervier: help! ::( )

This new Class work fine in my UP2.01 !
Warning at doublon !

Epervier gives only missed classes for me try full mod

Avoids stray light in the cockpit caused by fire guns!
1A7F73CE392E9538 MGunBrowning50k
5148E05AEF184282 MGunBrowning303k
And check mod folder with classchecker for conflicts
-
in all my testing, i never once thought to fire the weapons from inside the cockpit, so never noticed the flash problem...... :-[
as a tester, i need to up my game a bit, lolz :D
-
Long ago the SM81 had the same problem! ;)
There are 1 or 2 others for who had the same problem.
-
Warning at doublon !
Actually, there were doublets inside Steppenwolf's effects folder "_00_A_MGun_Classes" (so loaded earlier) for both the two "Special Flash" class files. So I put a "!" at beginning of folder name (i.e.: "!01__Weapons_USA_GB") but with no avail: the now-gold inside cockpit flashes are still there! >:(
-
Thank you to all ! :)
All the best.
-
Greybeard just remove stepenwolf doublets somewhere outside game folder and try. All must work. Otherwise create Mods folder put there beaufighter cockpit and US_GB weapons and try. Beaufighter cockpit is replacement for default - nothing more needed. Main mod folder stay temporary in chill out with prefix (-) or another name ))

... this fix worked OK for me too ... ;)

Tried, but still no juice...
Otherwise create Mods folder put there beaufighter cockpit and US_GB weapons and try.
Unpracticable. I tried, but just to realize it would require to restore accordingly air.ini, static.ini and Lord knows what else. I should uninstall everything by jsgme to be sure restoring all original setup, but then reinstallation on my old crappy comp would require hours... at this point the game is not worth the candle - I think I'll live with the "fireworks". :(
I would just know where Oleg saw such a ridicolous effect in reality, or how he could reach such a peak of silliness inventing it! >:(
Thanks for all the help and still my compliments for the fine work.
Cheers,
GB

No need just create Mods folder and put 2 mods there --no more. Main Mods folder rename or drag out (temporary). Start game ---it be stock version of game with new beaufighter cockpit. Try. That is problem of mega hiper mod packs to find deep hidden conflicts --i use my handmade mods folder.
BTW i never use jsgme -only handmade install - with jsgme some bugs may appear. By hand you sure what and where you drop.

A very cool cockpit!
Totally unflown plane previously, a very interisting fighter.
Congrats to this fine mod. :)
Yep, 4.09m rocks.

Really excellent work, detail is first class. Thank's for all of this hard work.
-
Very nice detailed pit. Thanks Greif11. Small drawback: large holes in wingroot, also visible in Bomberkiller's pics.
-
Abt wingroot holes. Cockpit ends with Mesh body-just part of fuselage. Wingroots is only outer mesh - that bug still unfixed in stock game. Need classwork. I'll try to dig out SAS~Skipper back to work. He exactly knows how to fix that problems.
-
Great cockpit! Thank you
-
Hi Greif11, 'Abt wingroot holes.' Even with this 'problem' I'll keep the pit in game, it's beautyfull

RIGHT! 8)

about the 'wingroot holes' problem mentioned, is this not simply due to the particular FOV being used in the cockpit?
many, if not all, IL-2 planes will show these 'holes/gaps', (always at the 'peripheral view' of the camera) or not, depending on the selected FOV.

I can confirm it works in DBW 1.71.
Thanks very much for this redone cockpit.

This is the story of aircraft code number R2071 a Bristol Beaufighter which was based at Redhill Aerodrome during World War II and belonging to 219 Squadron of the RAF. This Beaufighter was a Mk 1F, a prototype which lead to four different fighter models.

Cockpit looks lovely, but does not work in my straight 4.10 set up.
just remove class files and try. But that must be without radio altimeter 2nd needle and undercarriage indicator working. Not sure about 2nd throttle.
In dry 4.09 without mods Beaufighter cockpit -has only 1 throttle in 4.12- 2 throttle levers. That cockpit is crossbreed 4.09/4.12.

Yes, I did. But no luck. Oh well. Thanks.

Thank you Greif11. This certainly breathes new life into the Beaufighter series. IMHO - beautifully researched and rendered by the best cockpit maker in the business. 8)
