For your enjoyment I present a complete model of USS Bon Homme Richard CVA-31 circa 1965. I have added much detail -especially in the regions seen from your cockpit. The aim was to create a high detailed model for the navy pilot and it is hoped that many of you will use BHR as your home base. Bon Homme Richard was an Essex class attack aircraft carrier launched over 70 years ago and fought honourably in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.


FEATURES
Highly detailed model with high resolution, weathered texturing. Among other things it has: detailed flight deck crew, alternative low resolution crew, flight deck vehicles, fully modelled animated radar mast, alternative aircraft parking, optional replenish at sea, optional elevator positions, sponsons equipments details, extensive railing, whalers, optional night deck lighting, curved deck antennae, jet blast deflectors and more.

The emphasis was on detail. There are no plain surfaces, all objects were mapped with textured areas to give variation in hues and tones. Practically all damage models and textures have been removed and only flight deck area collision boxes were created. This was a logical step to save memory, time and to achieve a higher visual realism. The model is intended to be used in plausible scenarios and shell damage, colliding into hull or masts is considered to be a fiction. Smoke and animated flags were also excluded for similar reasons.

F-4D Phantom II BHR and A-4M Skyhawk BHR detailed skins are included to complete the boat.

A lengthy readme file is included.

INSTALLATION
USS Bon Homme Richard CVA-31 HD model has to be installed in your Mods folder i.e. IL-2 Sturmovik 1946/#SAS. (If you have Windows, read all "/" as "\")

1) First, ensure that IL-2 is running and ready under 4.12.2m. That is, Modact, Engine MOD and Common Utilities are installed.

2) Add western's Ship Extensions. You will also need to install western's mod (version 20150114 or latest) for Engine MOD.

3) Install the amazing High Resolution / True Color Textures Mod package by Carsmaster and Storebror.

4) Unzip 'USSBonHommeRichardCVA31_1965_vxxxx.zip' file to a temporary location.

5) Copy and paste the unzipped 'USSBonHommeRichardCVA31_1965_vxxx' folder to your .../Ubisoft/IL-2_1946_4122m/#SAS/ mods folder. (IL-2_1946_4122m - or whatever you call it - is a separate installation of IL2 version 4.12.2m). All IL-2 installations are best kept separate from .../Program Files/... folder.

6) Open .../Ubisoft/IL-2 1946_4122m/#SAS/STD/com/maddox/il2/objects/ships.ini with a text editor. Add all the lines from "ships_ini.txt" at the end of the Ships.ini file.

7) Open .../Ubisoft/IL-2 1946_4122m/#SAS/STD/com/maddox/il2/objects/stationary.ini with a text editor. Add the line from "stationary_ini.txt" at the end of the US warships section.

8] Open .../Ubisoft/IL-2 1946_4122m/#SAS/STD/com/maddox/il2/objects/chief.ini with a text editor. Add the first line from "chief_ini.txt" after the US warships section. Add the second and third lines in the other US warships section further down in the Chief.ini file.

9) Open .../Ubisoft/IL-2 1946_4122m/#SAS/STD/i18n/technics.properties with a text editor. Add the single line from "technics_properties.txt" after the US warships section.

10) Installation of the catapult mod is almost mandatory. Open  .../Ubisoft/IL-2 1946_4122m/#SAS/!SAS_Engine_Mod/com/maddox/il2/objects/catapult.ini with a text editor. Add the lines from "catapult_ini.txt" to the end of the catapult.ini file.

11) Use FullMission Builder to create a scenario containing Bon Homme Richard.

12) Have loads of fun.

13) If you have FPS issues, follow the no-crew option in the readme.

14) It is possible to use the carrier in other IL-2 versions, but not recommended. Install western0221 SCB-125 carrier pack from http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,24177.0.html?PHPSESSID=5cb3fd69d58e51a842cf6bb5d06f12f6. Follow his instructions.

Select one of the carriers and remove all the data from the ...3do/Ships/carriername folder and replace with the corresponding Bon Homme Richard data. Open the .../STD/com/maddox/il2/objects/ships.ini file and find the appropriate "carriername" and edit the details to reflect those in the "ships_ini.txt" file. That is, remove most of the guns, add in radar and sequentially renumber all the parts headings in square [] brackets. The jet blast deflectors will not work in these installations.

For example, use USSEssexCV9_1957 as the proxy for Bon Homme Richard and replace the 59 parts in the 'ships.ini' file with the 17 parts given in the 'DBW_HSFX_UP.txt' file.

Your terminal or logfile will show you what you did wrong; it may take a couple of iterations. Don't change the old "carriername" and when you use Full Mission Builder, "31" should pop up in its place.

1) Jet Blast Deflectors
JBDs are now working - thanks to western0221 - and are included in version 150731 onwards. For those who don't want to download and re-install the whole ship, a patch may be downloaded from MediFire http://www.mediafire.com/download/yme9t6czxlm0jx6/CVA31_JBD_fix.zip (If you use any options (meatbal, parking, replen etc) don't forget to modify the JBD entries in the relevant hier.him file).

Maybe it is because I have not installed western's Ship Extensions? But you say that ...
... Add western's Ship Extensions (for working jet blast deflectors to be added later).

@deSAD - I think you've identified the problem. It looks like the 'setBlastDeflector' bit gives us a clue. Install western0221's Ship Extensions which is probably necessary even though BHR JBDs aren't fully working yet. I'll amend the installation instructions. Please let us know whether its fixed to confirm that the problem and solution are understood.

(The JBDs look like they are missing off your deck; they're going to be fully functional soon though. Also, the shadows need another bit of work now I have a slightly better understanding of the bug in the Blender exporter.)

A bug report:
CVA-31 comes to a game and mission, works, but this error message line
ERROR: CARSLPFG: Too many faces (3444)
are much much recorded in my log.lst.

In IL-2 1946's 3D graphics engine, One LOD in One msh file can have only 3000 faces.
So a part of your ship is over this limit.
Please search the part and separate into two (like 2000 faces + 1444 faces) msh file.

Yes, after installing western0221's Ship Extensions problem has been resolved, and try to play a mission involving the ship no longer results in an error.

Thanks deSAD. Bon Homme Richard looks nice and crisp on your system. I see, like me, you prefer aircraft parking near stern to give a lengthy taxi run to catapult. It would be better if we could park along deck edges facing inward - in fact I will ask in the Making Mods forum.

There is an error in the read.me for underway replenishment installation. Ignore the changes to the ships.ini file. I'll update soon.

western0221 and I were discussing the number of faces allowed by IL-2 graphics engine. He advised me that the "too many faces" error writes many lines to the error log file and slows the game down and he also thought that there could be more excess faces in CVA-31 than Blender indicates. I intend fixing one obvious source and contemplating also changing the way the new crew are structured. But, I think that the large number of faces are actually tolerated by the IL-2 engine and if there is a problem with a particular system I would recommend using Ranwers old crew and/or de-activating the error log. I will do the fixes and amend the read.me soon.

Even though turn-off to write out error log file, fps dropping or screen flickering may continue.
With some light effects, Too many faces objects make obviously strange behavier in IL-2's 3D graphic engine.
All the MOD and Objects keep the rule of this old low limited game engine.

And when the player has mistaken something in installing this MOD or related another MOD , IL-2 becomes crashing, he has to look at the error log what he failed to solve the problem.
But if the error log is filled by Too many faces lines, he may not be able to find the line showing the true reason of its crashing.

@western - I've checked the number of faces on the carrier - especially the superstructure where I added loads of detail. Numbers of faces (they are all triangulated) were high - but not exceeding the limit. That is, except for underway replenishment which has been changed to keep number of faces low. Underway replenishment is an optional feature.

Also the new crew had a high face count, but it was decided to leave the high detailed new crew as they are. The recommendation is that if they cause a problem to use low resolution - or no - crew. Crew is an optional feature. This is now in the updated read.me text.

There are minor rendering/lighting effects on the carrier but it is thought to be due to the Blender exporter (see http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,44899.0.html). For example, the flight decks have low numbers of faces but show the rendering/lighting effect the most. The overall quality was considered to be tolerable.

I can not say that I 'prefer' :-\ In fact, I just do not experimented with a different arrangement of aircraft on the deck ;)

It would be better if we could park along deck edges facing inward - in fact I will ask in the Making Mods forum.

1) What name have catapult smoke effect (i have bronze-rusty color- needed white)
2) This part (in window) moving not correct.

@Ranwers Thank you for the praise, coming from you it's much appreciated.

1) Lucky you to have steam from catapult - I can't get any at all. One of the fixes I tried was to copy steam effects directly into carrier 3do folder, it could be that affecting the colour. I can't test (because I can't get steam) so I suggest you remove or de-activate .../Ubisoft/IL-2 1946_4122m/#SAS/USSBonHommeRichardCVA31_1965_vxxxx/3do/Effects 'Ships' and 'TEXTURES' folders to see if the colour changes (keep the ../Tracers/ShipTrail wake effect). The catapult steam effect should already be in your '!SAS_Engine_Mod' folder. Let us know the outcome please.

2) The JBDs are being looked at by Kingsley (western is busy at present). Apparently, it's a relatively simple fix - but beyond me.

Remove the 'CatSteam.tga' and associated files from the carrier folder - not the  !SAS_Engine_Mod folder. The  !SAS_Engine_Mod should be left untouched but you can make changes to the carrier catapult effects files.

If this doesn't work test the !SAS_Engine_Mod 'CatSteam.tga' file by editing it in a graphics program (I use Gimp www.gimp.org - every bit as good as Photoshop and free). Change the colour of the steam to a vivid colour and check the outcome. Otherwise, I can't think of any source to your problem (except .... hmmm ..... interference from high vertex numbers and the IL-2 rendering engine).

The blast shields getting closer to full usage so far got them to half way and 3/4 off and on there seems to be a coflict in the language that was used to write but narrowing it down soon I hope. Or in a famous saying 2 weeks

I don't think anyone has modelled proper lights on moving ships yet.

@duffys tavern - version 150819 is the latest with minor texture rendering fixes. You can just replace the "USSBonHommeRichardCVA31_1965" folder with either 150731 or 150819 versions and keep the old .ini files.

Unfortunately, I didn't have the expertise to exploit IL-2 shining lights so I modelled basic plane surfaces and used modified texture settings to give an acceptable level of emission. I don't think anyone has modelled proper lights on moving ships yet.

@deSAD - you are correct. Version 150731 is the latest version.
Version 150819 is sat on my PC and not uploaded because I found that the textures were still subject to lighting direction (see http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,44899.0.html). I am possibly going to fix it in a week or two. Apologies for my mistake and thanks for your appreciation.

I have run into the same problems again trying to fix the rendering of textures. Export from Blender into GMax and thence to IL-2 creates different sized, different height, 90 degree clockwise-orientated dis-jointed parts. The whole assembled Blender model and the whole GMax model each looked acceptable and were orientated in the correct direction. I struggled for weeks with this (mesh conversion) last year and I simply haven't the time to investigate. If someone wishes to pick up the Blender file and work on that, they're welcome. The GMax model does not have the relevant LODs, collisions and shadows. As I said, the problem was discussed here http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,44899.0.html

Oh... Do you use GMAX for exporting msh ?
If so .... that shading problem can be solved.

In GMAX/3ds Max, Rotating information in each objects are memorized by those "XForm" data and the normals made in the time of exporting are calculated by that XForm data.
When we rotate the object in GMAX/3ds MAX, the normals are made by the first direction referring XForm and it makes shading problem in IL-2 1946.
Before exporting, once disconnect all the objects trees and make "XForm Reset" to all the objects and "Collapse" all the modifiers.
After it, needed rotating information are lost. We have to remake each objects' rotating by editing their Pivot rotating. And also connecting trees.

I am confused here.

In the tags it says that this mod should be compatible with 4.10 (4.09, 4.10, 4.11, 4.12). But is it really?

But in the first line of Install instructions it says:
"1) First, ensure that IL-2 is running and ready under 4.12.2m. That is, Modact, Engine MOD and Common Utilities are installed."

Now what is it???

(installing ships is a pain in the ass as it is and I don't want to screw up my install and waste a lot of time tinkering with all the additional packs requested here that are clearly labelled 4.12 stuff, when there's no chance to get it to work.)

I think only 4.12.2m with SAS Common Utils, SAS Engine MOD + latest western patch, Ship Extensions MOD are needed.

Because of Jet Blast Deflector visual was added and its working is programmed only in above environment.

The title tags maybe wrong, today.
(The first version without JBD was all versions compatible ?)

4.09m has another compatible problem for all carriers.

@western0221 please leave the carrier as it is. The mod is actually useable in other versions of IL-2 if the user really wants and is prepared to use a proxy.

I have spent quite a few hours over the past two weeks trying to get a perfect texture rendering using differing configurations in Blender, GMax and Dr Jones exporters. For example, I've used the 'XForm' Reset and stack collapse facility in GMax as you suggested - and the corresponding Ctrl-A/1 function in Blender - without success. I haven't got a legal copy of 3DSMax, nor wish to start learning GMax all over again, in order to fix this small defect and I will continue to use Blender for my other non-IL-2 projects. As I said, I'll leave the carrier as it is - it isn't perfect - but it still looks reasonable to me.

Western, having said the above, I wonder if you would like to adopt CVA-31, export properly from 3DSM/GMax to give good textures and, maybe, add your new mirror landing system? I will gladly send you all the relevant files and maps so that you pick it up and make these and other improvements. PM me if you wish.

My SCB-125 Essex pack is not compatible to 4.09m , but all of 4.10.1m - 4.12.2m are compatible.

"I'm sorry you can't seem to get CVA-31 BHR installed. The "readme.txt" file in your downloaded and unzipped "USSBonHommeRichardCVA31_1965_v150731" folder is quite detailed and takes you through the installation stages gradually. You should be running IL-2 version 4.12.2m and preferably on a separate drive or directory from your Windows partition.

I guess you've installed a modded ship before and know that you usually have to make additions to the: ships.ini, stationary.ini, chief.ini and technics.properties files with a text editor. It seems quite a slog - but its worth it considering you have hundreds of man-hours of work for free.

The carrier also needs other mods installed for it to work as described in the readme.txt: Modact 5.3,  Engine MOD,  Engine MOD patch,  Common Utilities,  Ship Extension and High Resolution/True Color Textures Mod. If you have the space, I recommend have two or more copies of IL-2 on your PC. Install a clean version of IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 then patch to 4.09, 410, 4101, 411, 412 and then to 4.12.2m. Use this for the mods above only, then CVA-31. Add other mods later if you wish.

If you try again for several more hours with no luck please publish details of your IL-2 version and a summary of the installation stages and tell me where it goes wrong. ("I have done everything" does not really mean what it says).

I have not been notified of any actual problems in the installation of this ship so I hope you eventually get it working and let me know. I think it best to share problems similar to this in the "Essex Angled Deck Carrier" thread where someone else may find it useful.

Beautiful ship karla! The spinning radars are impressive looking.
But I can't takoff with the F-4 Phantom. No catapult.
It will not snap to the catapult, although I can TO from any of the Essex angled deck carriers with it by hit Control-C and snapping to the cat. I have placed the BHR catapult entries into the Engine Mod catapult.ini and I added

How about AI aircrafts or when you push Toggle Autopilot key ?

AI / Autopilot may jump to the catapult and when its position is different from 3D / 2D deck visual , _parkXX hooks and catapults.ini values are mismatching.

Thank you so much western! Your reply about the hooks txt made me look at the entries more closely.
I didn't realize that the original BHR Hull3.msh entries had to be changed to-I picked the normal_parking ones.
Also I found out that my keyboard was sticking so I had to really hit the Control-C for cat hookup HARD.

problem, i have all the requirements installed to run the ship, but when i go to play it in full mission builder, it screws my whole screen up and i cannot see the ship, nor can i load the game because im unable to use the FMB menu tab.

@flynavy123 - Apart from incomplete installation of the CVA-31 mod I cannot think of a reason for the FMB failure.

I suggest that you build your mission with another carrier, test it and tweak until you're happy with the setup. Then open the appropriate mission file with a text editor eg. "D:\ubisoft\IL-2 1946_4122m\Missions\Net\coop\flynavy123\test.mis" and find the [Chiefs] section, delete the carrier you used as a substitute and replace with the carrier you want "Ships.USSBonHommeRichardCVA31_1965". It's all I can suggest. Good luck.



@nao40031 - The stack appears to be rendering incorrectly; parts of it are present so it's not a missing file nor corrupt Hier.him. I suspect an incompatibility with the model and your graphics configuration. (I had difficulty exporting clean models from Blender and now haven't the time to re-export every file with GMax, see http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,44899.0.html).

Let's have a look at what's going on. That sort of problem is usually down to face normals, but why are you the only one with the problem? The fact that the sea is a hue I've never seen before and your flight deck textures look good all over - makes me think that the graphics configuration may be contributing. Will you therefore please let me know: which IL-2 version you're running,  whether you are in DX9 or GL graphics mode and let me know your type of graphic card and its IL-2 settings. I can then see if I can replicate the problem.

May some error / warning lines be recorded in your error log?
Rendering error or Texture error or something looking like related to 3D visual.

Is error log named hs_err_pid ? I have no error log about this case in my IL-2 folder. I have no errors such as null and crash. My IL-2 can run the mission fine except for the problem about  disappearing of the the bridge.

I have her operating in CUP with no problem but one: the aircraft, doesn't matter which one, will not use the cat.

@nao40031 - I've thought about the problem for some time trying to remember what I did when it happened to me during development (I've thrown my old logbooks out (moved home)). Mesh normals were the source of the problem IIRC and I think I also fiddled with my NVidia 3D graphics settings; but that was development. Try and run under GL if you can: copy your existing 4.12.2 folder with all the mods, change the conf.ini [GLPROVIDER] to GL=Opengl32.dll. If this doesn't work, change the 'Compatibility' mode in the 'Properties' of the 'il2fb.exe' in your new copy of the game to 'Vista' or 'XP SP2'. Also trial the SAS il2setup.exe and change the RAM settings. I hope you get her working properly, she's worth it.

@steven197106 - check that you can also run, say, western0221 Clemenceau http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,23336.0.html. This will confirm that all the other necessary mods are in place. Also, only use catapults with aircraft in default parking mode, don't park aircraft at the bow (obviously) nor at the stern. Another thought: have a look at http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=25781.0. Best of luck, I hope she works for you.

@SaS~JackS - I think your problem is the parking of aircraft on deck, use the in-game option and don't park at the bow or stern if you want to catapult. Try as I suggest above - test with Clemenceau. Good luck.

Beautiful ship karla! The spinning radars are impressive looking.
But I can't takoff with the F-4 Phantom. It will not snap to the catapult, although I can TO from any of the Essex angled deck carriers with it by hit Control-C and snapping to the cat.
Could you or anyone reading this post a F-4 Phantom Takeoff .mis for me to try?

Have you added a new Catapults.ini entry noticed in the files catapult_ini.txt or catapult_ini_stern_parking.txt inside the publish archive?

I had a problem with the F4 in that both AI and self flying the F4 gets catapulted but then just drops into the sea even with full afterburner and no loadouts.  I can fly the A4 Skyhawk off okay and so does AI.
EDIT: Didn't realise I needed an updated Carrier Take Off mod I had the original version which wasn't powerful enough for Jets http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,35916.0.html (http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,35916.0.html)


Also I get this odd problem with the 3rd aircraft in a flight of F8A not being attached to the carrier.

It doesn't happen with the A7 Corsair (though the right hand plane has its right wheel suspended in space see screen shots) or Cougars though

This screen shot shows what happens, the plain AI or self just gets left behind and hangs in the air.

So I accepted that a small change is better than none and, in the readme, I did state that there were limitations with the numbers of aircraft parking at the stern .. "10x Skyhawks or only 4x Phantoms". I guess that there is a sensible limit of, say, 4x A-7 which you could determine for yourself and let us know. Regards.

OK Karla :) It's a shame no one could help on that problem though as it is a beautiful model and great fun to fly off and on too  :)

And the answer is quite a lot including at least 4 F4 Phantoms at least 8 A4 Skyhawks Cougars Wyverns, Sea Furys WWII fighters like F6F's F4U's and so on.  Which is more than enough

yes, as walter said - the 'middle' cat is actually for the angled deck launch - although in my game, the AI make use of both Cats simultaneously, which i think is really pretty cool... :D

@Seb - you've probably read posts #51 and #58.

1) Try OpenGL instead of DX8.
2) Try single carrier only and a good stock 'plane, say Corsair.
3) Add in the 'planes and carriers you want one by one to see where possible conflicts occur.
4) Your log.lst file doesn't seem to contain Bon Homme Richard or CVA-31 anywhere. I only see problems with aircraft.
5) I vaguely remember some people having conflicts with TU-95; omit this if you've written it in your mission. (A repeat of (3)).
6) We didn't seem to get a final reply from nao40031 did we? It would have helped to tell us whether he succeeded or failed.
7) A neat idea is to make a clean separate copy of the game, update it to 4.12.2m and use it just for CVA-31 games (she's worth it).

Forgive the noobish question please.

Im about to install this beauty, to tackle Carrier Ops in Jets. Ive never done anything more advanced than the F9F, so i want to fly Phantoms, A-4s, ETC.

After adding SAS-Engine mod, and Ship extensions, is the SAS_CTO mod required?? Specifically, im curious about the catapult power, etc. Does SAS_engine mod over-rule the CTO mod??

@fresco - follow the instructions and your installation should be a success. Problems are usually caused by having a heavily modded game and adding yet another mod. So, if you are keen to do carrier ops, I would recommend the installation of a separate version of your game and build on that (see post #78 above). The catapults should work without CTO mod because it is embedded in version 4.12.2m and the essential mods. Otherwise, add the CTO mod later (I had trouble with this aspect a couple of years ago but I have forgotten what I did to get it working). Catapult strengths can be altered if you wish.

Once you're up and running start with, say, the A-4 Skyhawk by Barnsey12 et al and may be downloaded from http://freeil2modding.free-forum.net/a4m-skyhawk-2014-vt3711.html. Then move on to the Hornet by s553154 et al http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,44135.0.html. Finally, you can move up to the F-4 using western's http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,40856.0.html. This is probably the most difficult one of all. I can't recommend any good tutorials - just watch all the YouTube videos and reading up on it and practice four - or five - hundred times.

There's a lot of information in the download file readme.txt.

Installed as per instructions (so I think) and got the problem described in reply #49.

Will go back through it later and see if I missed something, work vacation starts Friday! Yay!!

I can land most anything on a carrier, dauntless, corsair, F9Panther, etc. it's the high power stuff I'm interested in now

This is a clean install, no other mods.
Installed according to directions. Double checked all "ini" entries. In "FMB" she shows up in the list of ships but does not display in the preview screen and will not allow me to place her on the map. Anyone else experienced this? Any help appreciated. If I can't get the "BHM" to work, then I'm in real trouble with the "Nimitz".

duffy - you said 'no other mods'; you need the high resolution mod at least. SAS High Resolution/True Color Textures Mod by carsmaster and SA~Storebror http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,42744.0.html, but I can't see that affecting what goes on in FMB. You should also have the SAS Engine MOD ver2.7 by Anto and SAS members http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=37774.0 and it's relevant patches. You may just have overlooked these necessary mods, which are in the readme.txt file under 'installation'. However, you did say 'installed according to directions' which, if you have done, I can't think of any other reason at the moment.

If you haven't done it already, look at your log.lst file towards the end of the listing. You will probably see error messages showing failure to load this or that. Sorry karla, didn't mean to give the wrong impression, I have installed all the required mods for BHR. However question: In the "ship extensions mod", it lists quite a few "ini" entries for various ships. I did not notice an entry for "BHM", so do we make all the "ini" entries or replacements? Also, do we need Western's Essex ship mod? What about the deck crew?

Is HD / Full color mod working perfectly ?

On some PC like non-Intel CPU or some video chip, HD / Full color mod's function becomes limited only aircrafts' external 3D texture.
Others like aircrafts' cockpit textures or ships' textures are ignored and errors come.

Solving this issue without decreasing texture resolution is possible only by carsmaster --- original author of HD / Full color mod DLLs.

FPS issue on Bon Homme Richard is probably because of very high poly count on some of the crew. I discovered this only two weeks ago during testing of USS Nimitz http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=51699.84
Easiest is to remove all of the crew with the Hier.him_no_crew option given in the package. I'll update the original BHR posting so that others don't have problems.

(I'll most likely re-visit BHR, change and add details and do some fixes and probably issue it under another carrier name after Nimitz has been released).

That says the error is made by Ship Extensions MOD part.

Now I'm busy in opening and editing some other project files all over my Windows' desktop 1920x1080 in 2 - 3 days,
after I'll finish it, I'll try to fix that bug.

Sorry I'm late to this. Nice work Gentelmen. I have all that is required including the latest engine mod but jets wont use the the cats. Did I miss something?

just did a quck test with Essex_57 and _60 and 4xPhantom: CAT launch is OK..
I use EngMod latest version (2.7.2 western Full-pack 16/Jan-06/Feb/2017) from here:

Or do you mean that players plane fails when let the AI do the players plane launch?

Thanks. I put player plane on auto pilot but it never jumps to cat. It launches with out any cat from middle of the ship. I have all the required mods. Oh well. It doesnt crash into the water so I guess I'm lucky. :)

Hello

I am facing the same problem as the user @ flynavy123 from reply # 49.

I installed all the mods, but only those, but when I use the FMB and select the ship in objects, first it does not appear its image in the frame, according to the screen it is all unconfigured and the mouse does not appear too.

I tried to do what you said, create a mission with another ship, then change to USSBonHommeRichardCVA31_1965, but when I load the mission it reaches 100% and it does nothing else.

I thought I had installed something wrong, so I decided to install another aircraft carrier to test, I ended up installing the Clemenceaut, and it ran perfectly, with rotating radars, missile batteries and jet blast deflectors running.

I am using il2 1946 with 4.12.2m and Modact 5.30.
