Thank you, Ten010, for this aircraft. It will fly in DBW 1.71 as only AI. Which I do not mind, as I fly 99% as a fighter pilot.
Thanks, again. Different planes-different targets.

Great and lovely plane, well done, thanks a lot ten010.
Unfortunately the user feedback is sub-par once more, sorry for that.

For the time being, until ten010 uploads a fix, you can find the missing files here:
https://www.mediafire.com/download/acy697hre9f3tcw

Download and extract to the same folder where you installed the Ki-48 mod to.

^^obsolete, use latest version from 1st post instead.

Best regards - Mike

and thanks a lot Mr. Storebror!
fix works and now the cockpit, the bomb aimer and the gunner show up :) - direct TFM 4.12 install as per Simons instructions...
and sorry for not posting a log file in the first place, as said I am in the middle of pimping my own TFM 4.12 install and did not have much time to check anything, just wanted to confirm the findings of other users...

Many thanks for the Ki-48   (Ki-48v1.01 for 4.12m)  ...excellent new a/c !
Can you tell me the correct procedure for take off.....
She spawns with the tailwheel hard over and I'm having difficulties moving forward slightly to lock the tailwheel straight.
Too much throttle......and you're in scenery  :D
I'll d/l again.....might be a dodgy file

Cheers

Alfie

The problem that it's being separated at present. :(
1.A movement of a gun and a trajectory slip?in Lowergunner.
2.It isn't bombed in AI. Is this a problem of a bay door?

Thank You a lot for one more important plane!

Bomb triggers are a bit buggy for me:
- 3x 100kg loadout drops bombs as 0+2+0+0+1 at different trigger presses. First attempt to bomb just opens doors a bit.
- 6x 50kg loadout drops bombs as 1+2+1+1+0+1 at different trigger presses and bomb positions in bay are a bit buggy.
- 20x 15kg loadout drops many pairs first and then some single bombs, maybe it could be pairs always.
Anyway, in my test AI dropped all bombs at least with first two loadouts. Thus, this trigger issue isn't preventing AI from bombing at least in v4.10.1m version I tested on DBW.

Why are bomb loadouts limited to 300 kg whereas at least Wikipedia says 800 kg bomb load? Could Ki-48 carry 8x 100kg, for example?

Then dorsal gunner should be careful because pressing the trigger may not be a good idea in situations like this:

Damage textures could be better but damage meshes look great. Then there are some LOD bugs, but I'll try to fix or hide them tomorrow.

Anyway, this is a great plane that I really enjoy to have in IL-2.

About the loadout I agree partially with Birdman....a more heavier load is historically correct but not up to 800 kg (which was a single bomb fixed in the belly for suicide missions) but at least to 500 kg as max load reported for the II version....

....anyway since the operational environments in which they were working , the loadout I think was more suited for interdiction missions....

....can I suggest this:

#####################################################################
# Ki-48-II
#####################################################################
Ki-48-II.default                         Default
Ki-48-II.20x15                          20 x 15 kg Bombs
Ki-48-II.30x15                          30 x 15 kg Bombs
Ki-48-II.6x50                            6 x 50 kg Bombs
Ki-48-II.8x50                            8 x 50 kg Bombs
Ki-48-II.10x50                          10 x 50 kg Bombs
Ki-48-II.3x100                          3 x 100 kg Bombs
Ki-48-II.4x100                          4 x 100 kg Bombs
Ki-48-II.2x250                          2 x 250 kg Bombs
Ki-48-II.none                            Empty

Ten, another Great Plane! :D
Working with both my TFM412 and 410 UP3RC4...
Some loadout issue:
http://www.airwar.ru/other/draw/ki48marumech.html
Are you know about this?(Possible yes) So, 24x15kg and 4x100kg seems to be OK, 8x50kg loadout also possible...The bomb bay not very deep, so 2x250kg possible a very tight fit, one 500kg or bigger bombs partially out from bay...
Also, Lily test guided munitions:
http://www.aviationofjapan.com/2013/04/hasegawa-kawasaki-ki-48-ii-otsu-lily.html
Of course, outside fit...

ten010,

Thank you for this beautiful plane.  Unfortunately it is not working in my install of HSFX 7.0.3 (Expert mode).  I can see the plane in 3D arming screen window without any issue, but the plane won't load in a mission ('Mission loading failed: Null').  At first glance it looks like it is FM related, with a java Null pointer exception?

Anyway thanks again for the work.

(P.S. ten010, I can fly your Ki-51 in HSFX 7.0.3 Expert mode without any problem.  Not sure whether there is any difference in the way the FM files are coded between the two planes besides performance value.)

Cheers,

Not sure whether there is any difference in the way the FM files are coded between the two planes besides performance value.)

ten010,

Thank you very much - both for the wonderful plane and the fast response.

I had a chance to test the Ki-48 in HSFX 7.0.3 Expert Mode again and it flew beautifully.  I am also reading up on the history of this plane as well.  Many thanks!

Cheers,

Thanks for this fantastic mod, I followed the install directions for 4.10.1 (except installed in the #SAS folder instead of the "mods" folder) and it worked first time in DBW1.71.  :)

Interested to know if anyone elses Lilies are flying straight and level with full deflection rudder or is it a bug in my install?

I use it with DBW too Without problems, You may miss an aircraft, the cockpit is similar to the pzl 37 los's and to the french liore 2 engined bomber. The author may used these as a starting point. Do you have these aircrafts?

I'll complete mesh of a missile mostly about "Igo-1-otu", and JAVA is also made.
If so you permit it, I'd like to use your model of "Igo-1-kou" and java for KI-67.

hello ten!

thanks for that wonderful addition..just a few problems remain as I just noted when testing something and choosing the Ki-48 as a target;
the Ki-48II has the front gunner´s feet hanging out of the glass fairing in the nose after I killed him in a head-on shot, might be a problem with the hier.him somewhere;
also, the 48 divebomber still shot at me after all the crew parachuted out and it continued to do so after it force-landed on the water and started to sink;
and lastly, also the divebomber lost its canopy glass and gunners canopy glass after I hit the plane repeatedly, might be a problem with the damage meshes...

as I did not have FRAPS on, I did not take any pictures, just wanted to report my findings...

cheers
phil

If you want different default skins, you will need to have as many folders as there are models. There are 4 models, so 4 "plane" sub-folders containing almost the same files...
Of course, there is a roundabout way to do this without overloading the number of files, but I have never tested it. This may be an opportunity to test...

So the easiest way is to have standard skins that you apply to the different models...

This is already done by the author. In directory Ki-48-II(ja), Ki-48-II(Multi1) there are three subdirectories: I_summer, KAMIKAZE_summer, summer for different variants of this aircraft. Only a separate subdirectory for version II is missing.
Final version 1.22.

this mod has already three different default skins folders I_Summer, KAMIKAZE_Summer and Summer it shouldn't be to difficult to implement additional  conditional default skins

:o Thanks very much for all your answers but...
filling the subfolders I_summer, KAMIKAZE_summer with new default skin made with the cache folder don't work...
Only the one called summer or pacific  work...
The result is you get for one map (ex:new guinea) the same default skin for the 4 variants of the ki-48...

Maybe there's another way around  ....

I had made an update for Ki48 4.13 but it seems to work in 4.12, as the only difference is bombsight for player use.

This Ki48 update
+aligns all gunsights and pilot sight for divebomber
+uses standard Nakajima engine names for compatibility
+Ki48 flight model tuned, drag, flight surface moments, air brake and response
+heavy bomb loads added
+bombardier sight adjustments work better and no jumping reticle
***UPDATED BELOW THREAD***

INSTALL
+ extract these files into the folder \ki-48_PACKfor4.13 or \ki-48PACKV1.22 for4.12 and overwrite if asked
+ add new bomb loads to \i18n\weapon.properties

You had a 20% crash due to a problem with the class being loaded (20% always indicates a class problem) and is clear from your log
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/maddox/il2/objects/air/Scheme1BomberType90Mk1 apparently in the version of the game you are using you are missing this class Scheme1BomberType90Mk1

Well that is a bit of a problem as this mod is designed for 4.13 while VPmodpack is based on 4.12.2. The missing class is coming from 4.13 and not sure that it will work in VP Pack. In any case I have attached the missing class below you can try to add it to the Ki-48 folder together with the other hashed classes and see if it works. Game won't explode but not sure it won't CTD again.

Thank you for your help Frankiek, unfortunately even after adding this class stil I get a 20% CTD.

Thanks for been a tester for 4.12 ;D  I do not have a mod install of 4.12 as I concentrate on 4.13.4.

If you copy the 2 original files from \ki-48PACKV1.22 for4.12 into the right folders

0F582E24F3EEC128

3DO\cockpit\D3A1-Bombardier\...  BombardierKi48.him

over my test update files it may fix the bombsight crash.

If VPmodpack uses COD files I can add extra bombs/tanks to Ki-45 with a single file.. I think

Hi taly01,
I tried as you suggested to copy the two files but unfortunately the game still ends up at 20% CTD, this time the log gives a different error:

regarding the Ki-45 I would be very happy with the extra equipment, however I tried to find the cod file between the Vp modpack folders but failed, I suppose it is hidden somewhere in the SFS files.

Sorry I should make a 4.12 install so i can test 4.12, but try copying    2E19B994519E8BC8   from  \ki-48PACKV1.22 for4.12 into the right folders over my patch.

I had started a Ki45 weapon update but it is "too much" work to add bomb mounts to Hei or Tei.  I can add options of modern Ho-5 20mm in nose of some though.

Thank you for the suggestion taly 8), unfortunately it didn't work,
Speaking of the Ki-45, I won't and don't want to push , just if you can do anything about it that, would be super, the option with the Ho-5 20mm also sounds great 8) ]thumleft[.

Here is the Ki45 gun update, should work on all games with Ki45, its something I didn't know I needed but the 20mm Ho5 is quite good, the 37mm auto Ho203 is poor for AA combat.
Ki45 Ko and Otsu nose 12.7mm now are unsyncronised faster firing model.
Ki45 Hei and Tei get option of modern Ho-5 20mm w/150rd to replace heavy slow firing Ho-203 37mm w/16rd.

Here is a bare bones KI48 update for 4.12 over Ten010 \ki-48PACKV1.22 for4.12  (The mods I did for heavy bomb loads in 4.13_Ki-48 are just not an easy copy over, as they include removing bomb bay doors, which are in same files as cockpits and bombardiers.)
Changes-
Uses standard names for Nakajima engines for compatibility
Added airbrake drag for Ki48-IIb dive bomber
Adjusted all views pilot and gunners to align sights
Corrected Ki48 flight model wing area arm forces

I will be more careful of 4.12 and 4.13 testing in future :)

Thank you for your work and efforts 8), everything seems to be working fine so far, I think any update that aims to make the aircraft model more realistic is good for this game, so keep it up and keep going, good luck ]thumleft[.

Sorry for my English,
