S-31 Kurowashi (Black Eagle) Bomber

Notes for version 1.0:
This still uses the Do335 flight model, so it's faster and more maneuverable currently than it should be. This also means it has two engines rather than the four it would have had in reality; just assume the engines are coupled through a common gearbox.
The aircraft is equipped with three turrets, and two fixed forward facing 12.7mm machine guns. The rear two turrets are equipped with 20mm cannon, while the front facing has a 12.7mm machine gun.
A custom cockpit is included, bastardised from the Ki-109/G4M cockpit. The pilot and bombardier positions are flyable.
The mod has been built in 4.10.1, but previous experience shows it should work in 4.12 as well - let me know.

Copy "KS31" folder to "#SAS", and add the following lines to the files listed:

Flies in 4.12.2m, SAS's 5.30. No gunner positions, can't open Bombay doors with keyboard. Yaws hard to the left...Still, it's Cool!

Found a little glitch just the file name
Should read S31 not S-31 as S31 is in the air.ini and the planes_ru.
Needs a longish runway though :D
Just testing around will put her up against some F4u's soon

I flies like a fighter... I was in a P-51 and it took me out with ease... that was the most scary encounter in my life @_@. This highspeed bomber is incredibly cool! Well done!

Hi. Thanks for interesting mod :) However I found one problem. When I try to change payload in QMB (DBW 1.71) there are nothing to happen. In bomb bay is still 2x 500kg bombs only.

Thanks guys. I'll sort the bomb issue in the next few days; I may leave it a little while to see if any other errors pop up before I release a patch.

Hmm..
So with 4.12.1 SAS Modact 5.20 ...
if i start with a runway and want to do a scramble mission....the plane just blows up and mission over.
But it's okay, it's worth it ;)

Is it possible to fix a minor bug: while ai-gunners can move their barrels, but bullets (and muzzle-flash) emanate just from fixed position in space, so they fail to hit enemy. (Some HOOK-fixing?)

Not currently, but i'll have a look when I get back to my other computer - it has the relevant files on it.

The bomb bay doors can't be opened in my game unless the autopilot is on......how can I solve it? :)

I agree Mike, perhaps its a 412 issue, the flightcrew do look a bit small to me as well. Maybe we can look forward to a fix for this minor issue?

I think we need to remember that this is a heavy four engine bomber, the same size as US four engine bombers. It was longer, had a larger wing area and stood higher than a B-24 Liberator! It had more than twice the power of a B-24. The Kurowashi''s sleek lines makes one forget about this beast's size. This thing is HUGE! ;)
Perhaps the seats can be raised a bit though, since it seems the pilot can't see over the dashboard.
One thing that would be great is if someone with the correct know-how can make the defensive turrets move, since they currently just shoot straight out, making them useless for self defense.

Yes indeed, this is a large airplane.
I have flown this irplane on and off in the past months, but it still needs some fixes.
I have been able to do some little fixes for it too, like normalizing all the light shine on all its
parts. because some parts (like the wheels) look too bright and white colored.
By adjusting all the files to a set of values, this will make the entire airplane look much better.
I tried raising the height of the pilots seat, but I could not do it :(
