Title: FMB Question
Post by: andqui on October 23, 2013, 09:42:59 AM
I hope this is the right place for this, sorry if not.

I'm trying to make a mission with nine level bombers, split into three flights of three. I have the player's trio as the lead, and then flights 2 and 3 are part of the same squadron. I want the nine bombers to dynamically fly together, as opposed to each flight of three going about their waypoints independently. So for each waypoint, I set the target of flights 2 and 3 to be flight # 1, so that everyone flies in a compact, 9-aircraft formation, so far so good.

My question is what do I do for the GATTACK waypoint, to get the nine aircraft to stay in formation and let the player leading flight number 1 trigger bomb release from all nine on his command? Should I still be setting Flight 1 as the target on the gattack waypoint, so that they will still stay in formation? Doing so reverts the waypoint to normfly, but does the bomb on my command trigger still work? If I don't set flight 1 as the target, flights 2 and 3 become "detached" from the formation and bomb independently. If I do set flight 1 as the target, sometimes flights 2 and 3 drop bombs on command perfectly, sometimes they don't drop at all.

thanks

If I understand you, I think that you have to set the 3 fligths independtly. All the waypoints and the ground attack wp. TO make them flight together just put the waypoint close and put a bit diferrent altitude (70 mts) That do the job. If you canĀ“t send me the mission I will try to set it to show how.

The "bomb on my command" trigger should cause the other planes to drop their ordnance no matter what waypoint is being used by them at the time they are ordered to release their ordnance.
