Title: Disappearing sounds of engines
Post by: Albert Von Grewe on January 13, 2013, 08:52:06 AM
Hello! I have a problem with the sounds of the engines.
Some aircrafts (eg G4M Betty, Ki-27) have sounds engines when the mission start, but when I toggle the view, the sound are loses.
I use version 4.101 + DBW 1.7 + The Full Monty (I also have a new aircraft mods - this may be the problem?). Any idea, what is wrong?

Hmm, I tested the new button 10, and the problem still occurs. I noticed that the problem may be related with the choice of the map. When I use the maps in the QMB problem occurs only on some (mainly those of the Pacific)...

button 10.2 is still BETA and some bugs may exist inside.
They are to be fixed.

To fix the bugs , error log reports are needed.
Please get error logs from your IL-2 1946 with button 10.2 (some ERROR: preset XXXX missing or YYYY.wav is missing lines may be written) , and give us them by copy-and-paste here.

If you need error-free MODDing , please use button 9.7 on 4.10.1m.
button 9.7 is stable one and no bugs.

I had missing bomb explosion sounds and saw somewhere to change the numchannels to numchannels=4 (it was 3 in my case) in conf.ini.

Worked for me with no FPS hit.

...being able to change numchannels to = 4 means you have Tiger's UV3 soundmod and the AudioDevice mod that comes with it ...  ;)

You thus can play 64 channels instead of the max 32 stock game ones ... and this is necessary due to the number of samples included in UV3, otherwise you may lose some of them, which was the case for you until you modified your conf.ini ...  ;)

I used UV3 and have found that when there are a number of twin eninge bombers around, I lose my flyby sounds. Don't know if that is the case here.
