Greetings GIO.

thanks,great job

THX man !
Good oponents for CC Mossies and Beufighters as for B-25J Straffers (perhaps one day for A-26 too) !
Thx a lot

Thank you, Gio, very useful little ships! :)
Doc is absolutely right... :P

They are indeed very useful. They may not be glamorous and powerful like main warships, but the big ones are over represented in proportion to these smaller vessels.
I was wondering if there is any way of having these objects added to embedded objects so they can be used in making maps. I know such things are normally placed in missions, not in an actors.static file ... but still. In some circumstances this would be very useful nonetheless ... as for instance in a Morocco map I'm almost finished with ... there are a few barge/landing craft objects that be used in the map maker, but not much else in the way of naval vessels.
Just curious and hoping it could be done ...
-
As Usual Gio , these are fantastic.
Absolutely versatile in Mission Design.
Thank you.

Thank you! These are a well needed addition to Ships.

Great work. Imprescindible for mission makers in many scenarios.

I too just asked a few of the modders this question a few days ago. I would like to see stationary planes and ships added to the static.ini so we could add these to map when making or retexturing. There must be way.

What is the purpose of adding such objects to maps ? (as map objects are completely neutral and unmovable)
Anyway, very interesting little ships for mission makers ;D
-
Turn a ship, an aircraft object "static" (not "stationary") and possible ... but you need a 3D specialist ... and his work will be enormous to transform an object composed of several tens of a mesh object composed of a single mesh (including all armament and frozen).
The simplest solution is the creator of the task to add these static or stationary objects included in the game
Especially since tools like QOT can facilitate the task.

On certain maps it can make mission making much simpler. In concrete terms I was thinking of a map I almost have finished. It is of Spanish Morocco. To show the Alhucemas landings properly there is a need for a confusion of tents and sheds on the landing beaches ... and I mean as in D-Day Normandy ... additionally there were fixed gun emplacements and trenches on the heights above the landing beaches and having artillery in place on the map can save lots of time. Also the beaches were propped full of temporary jetties and improvised piers along which were anchored a multitude of small craft - barges, Gallipoli landing craft, small steamers etc ... you would need some 50 to 100 ship objects to do the scene justice.
So my thinking would be to embed them into the map from the go ahead. If I am not mistaken - but feel free to advise me of any misconceptions I probably have - aren't embedded objects somewhat less frs intrusive than those placed in FMB when making a mission?
And the same goes for airfields. I have little patience when setting up missions to make detailed placements of all the myriad of static objects available. There are so many to choose out of - more than 2000 by last count - that just finding the one you are looking for is so time consuming. Better to have all the trucks, and cars and vans and whatnots already embedded on the map - that's my approach anyway.

Can I ask what QOT is? Where to get it to try it out? I don't think I've heard of it ...

Yes I can agree about a lot of static objects , but PLEASE, don't do that for vehicles, weapons that can be considered as ennemy targets ... it can be very frustrating or confusing to attack/destroy such "maps-objects" that lead to no result... and impossible to distinguish from ACTUAL ennemy stuff ?
As mission maker, I also need to have sometimes airbases that look active but also sometimes look abandoned/inactive ?
(I think about that because I, myself, mainly fly as assault pilot)

Whats wrong with placing ships via FMB??
I see no reason for embedding ships into maps at all.
This discussion has little to do with Gio's work btw...
-
Thanks, gio963tto. It's installed in my DBW 1.71. I'll use the German trawler in the Walrus campaign I'm re-releasing. The Spanish one will be useful in any further SCW campaigns. I'm sure I'll find a use for the British one too.
cheers

Thanks for the new ships!
Always a great pleasure to install your new ships and planes!
Good luck in future projects

That's very nice... it's often better to have objects looked weathered ... and btw - this may not the right place to ask, but still - these trawlers do not seem to emit any smoke from their smokestacks ...
-
Excellent paint job! Very very nice! 8)

Hello Stanislao, really beautiful reskin for trawlers.
Thanks a lot!
And about Axis corvettes, can You also post those?
Thanks again, in advance.

Interested ... very interested ;)

This excellent trawler pack by Giotto (and with Stanislaos paintjobs) is now to be found in "IL-2 SCW".
Love this small ships. They are VERY useful in mission building - often much more so than huge battleships.

quick check - works with 4.12
