Title: Somewhat improved Bf-110G4+ Bf-110H4 v2.0 [4.10] [4.12]

Well, some time a go, I combined two mods to form 1. This is the result

TD's radar BF-110G4 with AAA and SAS loadouts and cockpit
special thanks to S-3 and Wasted for getting me started, I could not have done it without your motivation!
Team Daedalus for the leaked radar, this wouldn't be special without it!
The old AAA team

and Cirx

note, none of the components used in this mod were made by me. None of it (except the some of the loadouts), I just took initiative and slapped it together to make a fairly realistic night fighter, if anyone has any objections either notify me or an Admin so either I or they can remove this

this version's features include
No tracer, and tracer loadouts, MG-FFs have made a triumphant return
Schrage Musik with gunsight
improved 3d
improved cockpit including lighting with cockpit lights activating neon green guages
and TD's radar!
FuG-202 radar antenna has has made a triumphant disappearance, as this mod only has an SN-2 radar set, not an FuG-202.
Version 2:
includes a brand new aircraft, the Bf-110H4. I finally fixed my java problems and can turn out new aircraft.
The H4 doesn't have a rear gunner, but it keeps the radio and radar operator. revised loadouts to accurately represent the proposed armaments of this variant. Also the engines have been updated to DB-605Ls. I would have used E model DB-605s but those aren't in game.

you have to be above 5000 metres and more than 250 yards away from the target to use it correctly, preferably within a 45 degree cone.

I had some problems after initial installation, i just added the line provided in the download to the air.ini and kept the original 110G-4 - i couldn't get the radar screen and both planes had the FuG-202.

You need to REPLACE the old air.ini line with the new one for this mod to work properly!

Excuse me - but which old air.ini line are you replacing. You should be able to have both G-4s in the sim.e.g.

BF-110-G4         air.BF_110G4 2                        NOINFO  g01   SUMMER
BF-110-G4(R)     air.BF_110G4NJ 2                     NOINFO   g01  SUMMER

I just changed the new one to BF-110-G4(R) to differentiate it from the original. The new plane does not have the FuG-202 (see 1st post). If you just added the air.ini line as it stands(BF-110-G4), and have both lines then it's obviously calling up the class files for the original G4 that's why you are seeing the FuG-202 antenna and not getting the radar screen.

No need to replace the original - you can have both if you want.

No problem ANDYTOTHED. I had the original leaked model pm'd to me some time ago, but I've replaced it with yours.

Would be nice to see some working radar sets in the Ju88 and Mossie nighfighters, but would need a new crew position as well to view the sets properly.

I thought that this in-cockpit radar was still just a visual mod and not actually functional. When I tried it out, the radar did not seem to indicate anything about potential targets, even if they were fairly close and just ahead of my plane at the same altitude.

No it works. When it was first leaked it worked well, but you really had to practice with it. When you got the hang of it though its pretty cool.

Forgot on this. It´s crappy mod ....
Leaked radar system (code) is incomplete and can´t work correct.
Better wait for DT release later where will be all work correct with manual for use.

Hi all,

and here the first improvement for all "B&T wheel fix_DBW" users:

Open the "B&T wheel fix_DBW\ 3do\ Plane" folder, copy the folder "Bf-110G-4" on desktop

and rename in "Bf-110G-4R3". Now copy the renamed folder back in your mod "Plane" folder.

Now you have the nice round wheels for the Bf-110G-4NJ too...!  ;D

The altitude was the problem. I was at 3000 m, along with the target, flying over mountainous terrain. I'll try again at higher altitude.  :)

Hi!
i get a CTD while using this mod.
the mission loads ok. all the cockpit positions also. i see the radar graph working.
i start the engine and as soon as i touch the throttle the game crushes.

I'm very new to the whole community so please excuse me if this is not a good place to ask this.

First thanks for putting this G-4/H-4 package together, it's great to see the radar working from the back seat. I came back to IL2 after many years because I saw the youtube video of the radar and was hooked as I love the nightfighting aspect of the sim, amazing at how far the community has pushed this sim.

I am wondering if anyone else is unable to get the G-4 or H-4 ANS-1/2 receivers to work and pick up beacons? My G-2 works perfectly however it's the only version of the 110's that the beacon does work. I can select the beacons but the receivers do not react or work. Several of my other German aircraft have receivers that work perfectly so I'm hoping there might be a simple answer to get the receivers working again.

I use 4.10.1m and DBW 1.71

Hi, as a novice modder, I wasn't sure how to go about adding beacons. As I'm busy with a few minor test projects that will likely never see the light of day, these will likely undergo minor updates at some point in the near future.

Nope it works, it has a limited angle and you have to be at high altitude for it work. I don't know enough coding to allow gain.

You will notice that the higher you climb the less interference you will get on the tubes. The radar works very well but you really have to concentrate on the scopes to pick out the minor disturbance that indicates a contact. It's quite a challenge but is very rewarding.

I'm pleased to report that this somewhat works in 4.12 with SAS modact 5 and free il2 modding's Diffm for 4.12.
Things that need rectifying are as follows
1. The Bf-110H doesn't want to appear correctly, nor does it have load outs.
2. the gunsight reticle in the Bf-110G4 needs brightening so as to allow the brightness adjustment feature (introduced in 4.12) to be used to max effectiveness.
3. The schragemusik gunsight reticle doesn't line up with the sight aperture in gunsight view, nor does it's brightness change when adjustment is used.
4. the armaments have all had their class names changed, by TD, so the only loadouts that appear are ones that are tracerless  (the ones I included in the pack)



EDIT: I fixed the problem with the H by just adding a + to the front of the file

I set this mod up in my dbw 1.71 install
the G4 model shows up, but not the H model, can't select as an airplane in Quick Mission Builder
I added the lines in the air.ini provided and the folder is stored in my #DBW.
Does the G4 model have the radar screens and if so how can I get to see them or is it just the H model. ?

That's odd.
Are you on 4.12.1? This is working perfectly on my 4.12

In DBW, you have to press the change seat/gunner position key to get to the radar seat. This mod was made on DBW 1.71 and I'm not entirely sure what the problem is there post the log.

Atoka, I have entirely no idea what is causing your problem, could you post a log and I can try and help?

As for that comment Bravo, I'm just trying to keep on top of a lot of real life stuff, I look at this when I can.

As a side note, you need Diffm 4.12, available at the Freemodders site, courtesy of Ton414.

 If someone wants help fixing a mod, then they can show courtesy by posting a log file so I know what's wrong. As far as I'm concerned, I have these working in my 4.12.1 so I don't know why it doesn't work in other people, and I'll be unable to find out until they post a log.

my install is 4.12.1 modact 5.2
this is a log file in am attempt to fly the Bf-110
my question is what do I do with the spinners file that came as part of the download.
I'm guessing that way none of the mesh shows up

Migman, as far as the 3D fix, just drag and drop the 3D Fix  Bf-110H-4 Folder to   06__BF-110H-4/3do/Plane/Bf-110H-4.

Yeah that will be it. I'm assuming (before I flipped  :-[) that the gear.mat in question was a light; because Guzknife removed a light in his version.

Unfortunately no, as the aircraft is based on old TD code. The only way to utilize it effectively is to climb above 5,000 metres. Maybe it could be revisited with some jetwar code.

Sadly I'm not proficient enough to do so. I could always take the search radar code, from S-3's MiG- SM-12. Course, he's not around for me to ask.
