- D4Y2S(Multi1) uses D4Y3S(Multi1) default skin and has buggy nose textures.
- Alpha channel is buggy in windshield frames in nightfighter versions so that the frames have parts missing in external view and observer cockpit view.

 - All engines now use the new better 3d model, also damaged. I also adapted hier.him in (Multi1) folder for the new engine.

I think that I am probably an obstacle of POVMOD.
A field of view is extended too much?
In my environment, the same phenomenon occurs by 120 or more FOV(s).

I added all 4 folders to the #SAS folder and added 4 lines to the air.ini. The D4Y3 and D4Y3S worked fine. But the D4Y2 and D4Y2S just produced an empty screen in the loading screen page. The lines I added to the air.ini for those 2 planes was

D4Y2S             air.D4Y2S 2                           NOINFO  ja01  DESERT

Anyone able to help? I am running Modact 3.06 and 4.101.

I had the lines for the D4Y2 (D4Y2    air.D4Y2 2  NOINFO  ja01  DESERT) aleady installed in my air.ini , plane.ru and weapons.ru folders from the previous model (I believe by Damawo). I also had the air.ini, plane.ru and weapons.ru lines for Ten's previous version. So, I only added the folders to my SAS ModAct3.6 #SAS folder and I got all planes

Ok Log file says 'INTERNAL ERROR: HierMeshObj: Can't load HIM 3DO/Plane/D4Y2(ja)/hier.him'.

So I copied the hier.him file from D4Y2(multi1) and placed it in D4Y2(ja) and everything seem to work now...

And a Thank You for these a/c.

Hi!

I'm very thankful for this beautiful aircraft, but I'm encountering some problems.
Older WIP mod of this plane worked fine while this one gives me 70% CTD.
I have Diff_fm installed, is it there a new version?
Also, I'm a bit confused on how many lines to add to air.ini?

They are great additions, thanks a lot. I did a mission and it was an experience, trying to get away from US Navy fighters. The D4Y was faster that the D3Y and it was more difficult for the enemy figthers to get into an attacking position. I need to check more but it feels definetely better than the awful descriptions we usually read.

There is a mistake in the inside cockpit sounds, the -2 models have a radial sound instead of the DB inline engines sound (from the outside the sound is correct), and the -3 models should be simply LOUDER.

Hello. zack.

By my test, if a view is made into 120 degrees or more, there is the same problem.
The "D4Y3" cockpit is carried out based on the "D3A1" cockpit of a stock.
I would like to judge the problem of the composition the problem MOD's, or your PC.
Please let me know the result played by D3A1.

I've currently got the D4Y3's from the earlier WIP working fine and the instant "kaboom" D4Y2 (nice plane shame about the pit and damage model) - is there any real advantage in me installing this new package ?

Hello flying_spud.
The JAVA code is corrected for the motion of the canopy of a rear gunner about D4Y3.
Moreover, it is correcting that the excessive part was showing from the cockpit viewpoint.
About D4Y2, I can say anything.
However, its quality is high although the model of "kodama" is incomplete now.
I do not want to cause confusion, when his model will release in the future.
Therefore, it is a secret model.
An additional description of "air.ini" etc. is not guided, either.
I think that only people with skill or knowledge can call off confusion.

This is a very nice D4Y3 ten010, especially with the new skins available, because the other D4Y (d4y2) is a bit of a joke as is, I've removed it from my game........ :-[
The stationary "Judy" is a very useful addition too, at last IJN airfields look authentic for 1944-45 now.  ;)

I would however like to check the loadout options for night fighter variants - did they not removed the bomb equipments from the night fighters?  It was reflected in the loadouts  (only 2x drop tanks) of the D4Y2-S fix (from HSFX 6 model?) Epervier posted a few days ago.

I have not removed bomb equipment from night fighters.
It will be realistic to remove it, properly speaking.
However, judgment is wavered when considering game nature.
It seems that the system has been equipped although D4Y3 could not equip the 250-kg bomb of three shots in it and HSFX6.0.
In my model, a bomb can be equipped three shots.

My dear ten010, there is a bug  - when you try to load the D4Y2 & D4Y3 simultanously, there is a 30% crash, - this maybe the case when you try to do so with D4Y2-S & D4Y3-S. The reason for this is because (it seems so...) there is the same classfile 9F37B19265BC32A0 for the bomber models and the 94464FE6B671D6CA for the night fighter models.

I've the "missing cockpit wall" bug,i've tested D3A1 and D3A2 but the view is correct,when i tested D3 and D4 cockpit with or without Cirx_POV Mod,the problem was still here..

Have you tried different filename? Maybe Mediafire thinks it is a part of split archive due to something in the filename although that is not really the case here.

Hi guys! just anybody can help me? I'v been installed D4Y mod, 1.2 version and DiffFM to my Ultrapack 3.0 RC4. When i started the game, everything is okay. I can see all 4 new D4Y modifications in QMB and can change their loadout. But when i try to started mission, game crashed after load to 100%, with next error: "0x3d887b00 memory cannot be read", or something like this.

P.S. I need D4Y not just for fun, Judy need for my new Pacific dynamic campaign, it will be VERY HIGH detailed, historical correct and realistic.

Hi again ten010 ;) You know, I think D4Y2 has veeery weak engine... For exampe, I tried to take off from carrier on D4Y2 with 500kg bomb - and it falls down in water (carrier has its own speed about 15 naval miles)...  Also plane climbs very tightly, I don't belive that 350 km/h max speed is normal for D4Y2

I want ask you this question: is it possible make version with geronimos wheels only for this mod too? I need all geronimos whells to work this mod. But I I want fly some events with friends with this mod than all getronimos wheels are not necessary to fly it. I love geronimos wheels mod of course and I am using it. But not all my friends are using all nice wheels.

Or another chance is remove geronimos wheels, but this is not good.

Is it possible, plese? Thanks for any answer.

The problem is that DBW is based on that version. Rebuilding all mods for 4.12 is so time consuming and virtually impossible. Campaigns are usually set up for DBW, HSFX and still even for UP3.0. Possibly V1.4 can work in 4.101 with the old FM. Believe me, it's worth it.

Scratching my head while wracking my brain after giving up for a long time, I'm back at trying to load the D4Y's. Every plane of Ten's that I've downloaded has functioned except these four. And I've reinstalled version 4.12 twice in two different locations, and it all worked except the D4Y's! I'm still trying.

- Assuming the quote of "versions features" is not a descript of a fully included effect, but
  rather suggest that the F&S-mod should be a presence "in game" already (?) . Just may be, who knows.
- Another possibility is that the effect is fully included, but that you have an engine mod without it,
  hereby retro-nullifying the same feature within the mod ( i.e.: similar class files? ). Possible.
- Try the same solution in either cases: the engine mod with F&S effect.

Nope.

Engine mod + flames is a stand alone and universal mod ( comprising great many files, and many features ) which are needed by a lot of planes. In turn these other mods then avoid the necessity of providing these very same files over and over again, in incompatible variations of the same. It is a simplification process, not "a complex it up" process as U suggest.
The files are common to all mods and should remain that way: all that is needed is that engine mod precedes and loads before the plane mods that need it.
Reminder: do not install engine mod in an "over packaged" fashion.

Also when you eventually update the mod, you then upgrade the "common" features of all your planes in just one go!

This means, by the way, that most of all your planes should now have this flames and smoke feature ( ..see it on their engine startup.. ),
the lot of them should feature it all at once, and immediately !

( If they dont, then engine mod + flames is not properly installed, or you selected the wrong version.)


PS.: ...not quite so alone: in turn 'engine-mod' requires 'CommonUtilities' to work. (...a further small bunch of very basic-common files...).

I downloaded and tried Engine MOD 2.8.14w, then Japan Cat's Merge, which seems virtually identical, but the startup for both stops at 70%.

70% is due to such dynamic objects like ships and vehicles; also for aircrafts it has to do with stationaries; would suggest, while installing new aircrafts, never install stationaries; keep that for later when needed, or after all is working fine about that aircraft.

Also don't forget Common utilities requirement. Engine mod does not work without it, because it does not include these few separate files anymore.

Raw engine mod and engine mod plus Japan cat merge, do not contain the "flame" mod.

PS: I do not support Japan Cat versions; if you want to go that way, you will need somebody else's help.
PPS: do not add oil to the fire when resolving issues. Separate and simplify the issues.

Scratching my head while wracking my brain after giving up for a long time, I'm back at trying to load the D4Y's. Every plane of Ten's that I've downloaded has functioned except these four. And I've reinstalled version 4.12 twice in two different locations, and it all worked except the D4Y's! I'm still trying.

Thanks, I'll try that. One question: I should download that file and put it in the DH4 file?

I downloaded and tried Engine MOD 2.8.14w, then Japan Cat's Merge, which seems virtually identical, but the startup for both stops at 70%.

Please note that if you are on 4.12.2 + SAS Modact, then you shall not install the files into the "MODS" folder but into the "#SAS" folder instead.
The target folder depends on which modpack version you are actually using.

Got all 4 planes loaded and working at long last after over a year of on again, off again effort. Thanks to all who helped!

The problem was simple, so simple it took a long time to figure out. The downloaded file was extracted to #SAS, but was not found because the four planes still were in a folder that hid them. So I copied and pasted the four planes and read me to #SAS, deleted the folder that held them, the game loaded, and there they were!

Many thanks for these 4 planes. They are very pleasant to play with.

I don’t experience any difficulties as far as the installation is concerned. I think I use the last version to date (1.14 2015/12/13) ; however, I found that on (and only on) D4Y3 the Bomb bay door are missing ; it’s like they were invisible. Open/Close produce the appropriate sound associated to the screen message.

My version of Il2 1946 is 4.12.2 with VP Modpack.

Would one of you have noticed the same thing ?
