Thanks for the nod Blazing,

But I have no doubt there are many others who would love to see you launch this old girl.
I'm really looking forward to it.

how DARE you say that?
oh, well, put me in the pool of "the few wjo love carrier ops and appreciate a maximum of useable platforms of all sorts to use naval planes"

uff, long desription.

she aint BIG. she aint AWESOME. she aint f*n FAMOUS.
But she is a workhorse.

and i love workhorses. real dependable stuff.

I love the USS Ranger. The one CV in the Navy at the start of the war that never fought in the Pacific. Launched carrier raids on Norway. All around great ship, very underrated, and I would love to see her in IL2!!!

Hey Blazing ,
I just wondered whether you discussed the elevation and lowering of the stacks for flight ops with a coder somewhere. I don't know if you caught my post somewhere else wondering if this behavior could be reverse engineered (read - modded) from the relationship between flak and enemy ac.
Ie the flak knows where the enemy ac is/are and responds by rotating/firing ; why can't the carrier (stacks) respond to the nearest friendly ac - when (the nearest) friendly ac reaches a certain distance the stacks raise to cruise positions ,
when the nearest friendly ac (including on deck flyables - at start and spawns) is within a certain distance from the carrier , the stacks lower/depress to flight op status.
It's both a fairly simple animation and a doable code I would think.
I guess the dm for the carrier would need to reflect both positions , though.
Obviously , even if this isn't achieved , she will still be a lovely add.

Good Luck with the Ranger , Blazing.

I did see your post. I haven't talked to a coder yet

"Cruise Position" would be up and "Flight Operations" would be down.

Yes Razor you are correct - but I was referring to how it might be achieved mod-wise.

Understood. It seems like a good idea, and possibly quite doable, unfortunately I think that the variations of something like a DF mission would be just too much for the game to deal with. If it were only for  Coop or Single Player missions, it would probably be relatively easily done.

I'll leave it up to the coders but I'll left to side for the moment. I up to do the aa placements and the texturing the model then the lod0 is done
