Title: Help with problem in takeoff on the ship!
Post by: Manoel on January 18, 2012, 05:04:51 PM
That sucks, I want to take off with a jet in Aquila, but planes are always near the middle of the track, left lane behind a lot of them, and thus I can not take off because the plane crashes into the water. The computer also can not take off, he falls right into the water.
How do I get more behind the jets?
I've tried everything, has to be some way! Thanks in advance.

Install latest Carrier(Catapult) MOD

for Player.

For AI, Carrier Take-off MOD also needed

I want them to get further back off.
Why?

In historical, Aquilla weren't finished, but if finished and one member of fleet,
Planes taking off from Aquilla used Catapults.
Italy developed catapults to use on Aquilla.

Only making the road to Catapult very long, do you want this?

You get "more speed and take off" when using catapult. Planes on Aquila take off with catapult, not normal take off. If you want to use normal take off better choose a carrier that hasn't catapult, like Lexington.

He is already at full speed, still no good, the planes continue to fall.

Just tested, and it has catapult. Are you using it correctly ? Taxi to the start of the red/white stripes and set chocks. You are moved to the correct position. Give full power, then release chocks.

Remember to have mission date to something like 1956, so Carrier mod will give you more power.

This only works if you have this mod, download it on the link that western posted.

Ah and btw are you using DBW ?

First, sorry for the delay in responding, I have to travel.
@TOPIC
Sorry, but I do not want to use catapult, usually just take off with the aircraft, but for this I must put them further back on the track.

Even with full deck i dont think Aquilla is long enough to do it (may be wrong never used Aquilla to launch Sabres) but i know at least from my trails the lex class carrier is the only carrier that you can take off without a cat in the sabre due to its length and even then its just barely if your not to heavy (from what i remember been awhile since iv used a sabre on a carrier)

You should get the cat mod western posted will be able to take off no problems with it

its simple. (i think)
make a mission, make 1.2.3 (or more) flights of 1 plane. put these planes on the carrier takeoff point.
click the last plane you have manipulated and put your pilot in there. he will be "in the back"

alternative:
take a flight of 4 planes, put the pilot in plane number 4.

alternative II.
if that is not enough, take one more flight of 4 planes, and put the pilot in plane number 8. (or 7 or 6... experiment).

alternative III
if
->you start from the very end of the carrier,
->carrier=full speed?
->wind= opposite direction (wind and atmosphere mods)
->light aircraft, 25% fuel (...)
and it still is not possible,

then, it is not possible to combine F-86 and aquila.
not without a catapult.

Aquila was not meant to be used with Jets. Use prop planes instead (Re-2000N?)
