You are right !

Maritime action with big 2 and 4 mot planes is my real IL-2 passion.  Sinking ships I like more then killing other fighters  ;-)

I hope I will find the time to complete my Liberator GR.I too !

Thank you for this. Showing my age, does anyone remember an article in the RAF Flying Review, circa 1956-57, describing a battle between a Lib & a Fw 200 Condor, out in the Atlantic? If anyone is interested it turned into a slug fest alongside each other for a bit. The condor made the first attempt to get away in cloud (Probably as we now know they had structural problems). The Lib eventually found them again and forced it to ditch. Not able to reconstruct this so far despite some attempts

Thanks for the mod. There is a slight contradiction I am finding with some mods that are marked as 4.10 compatible: that you need mods or, in this case, cockpits that are marked as 4.09 only!

90 Persons  already use this plane. It would be nice if You could give me a little feedback. While positive feedback is more wellcome  ;), negativ feedback would be useful for optimizing my plane  !

This ride is a Blast and it works well with the new HSFX 5.0... Thank's!

Surprised the Allied didn't make a version of this bird for ground pounding... you could really shake up some Tiger tank crews! LoL

Yes I use the download in the first post. I have redownloaded all the files (b24 and b17 cockpits and the liberator) but it still don't work

I have the exact same error message as Epervier + "memory could not be read" and CTD!

Hi

What system (Ultrapack or 4.10) do You use and .. more important: How big is Your MOD-folder.  The Memory could not be read message dissapeared if I deleted one or two mods in my folder (he was simply too big)

But I am looking for solutions

I´m on 4.10, modsfolder is not nearly as big as the 409 folder!

Im honest: for now I have no idea. In my 4.101, HSFX 5 and UP 2.1 (with slightly reduced MOD-folder (but it is huge)  this error - message does not appear.

I got a strange 85% CTD when loading , but isn't related only to your mod , so I open a dedicated tread here: http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,14823.0.html

Can you take and look a tell me what do you think about?

All the best!

Sorry... but...
abnormalities (UP2.01) :
- Class file (D0EB893CC...) placed in the "B25J-FGun" folder
- The position bomber (Shift + F1) freezes the game (I have the same freezing problem for the position of bombardier in the B-24D!)
:-[
Post by: SAS~Riken on March 28, 2011, 06:11:48 AM
Being that this plane is based off the B-24D, I'll see what I can do to help out some of these problems and questions.

1.errors found in the log.lst.
I know of these problems, and I am currently looking into this one.

2.Class file (D0EB893CC...) placed in the "B25J-FGun" folder
There should not be any classfiles inside any cockpit folders

3.The position bomber (Shift + F1) freezes the game (I have the same freezing problem for the position of bombardier in the B-24D!)
I know of this problem, but it will not affect the game. simply cycle to another cockpit and you good to go. This problem is being looked at as well. The freeze up means that it cant find the bombsight.

4.The Memory could not be read message
You need to get either a larger processor, more RAM, or a better graphics card because you are running to many highly detailed items on your game at one time.

At this moment, I am trying to get things to a point where it will run as smoothly as the B-24J.

3.
I solved this problem by incorporating the code of the B-24JMod.
The position bomber working correctly now for the B-24D and GR.V! ;)

Thank you for your work !

Hi,

1st  - thank  you for this mod!
2nd - how do I install this in HSFX 5.0? I put it in the jsgme folder and activated, but to no avail, it doesnt appear in the list, where am I going wrong?
PS : I dont see a MODS folder in there, should I make one?

Thanks
Post by: Dinosbacsi on March 28, 2011, 12:28:55 PM
Do you added the air.ini line?
Post by: fabo28 on March 28, 2011, 01:28:00 PM
Did that, got CTD at 70% :(
Post by: woofiedog on March 28, 2011, 02:06:59 PM
fabo28... what setup are you using? If your using HSFX 5.0 & Hotfix 5.01... then add SAS "Modact" for HSFX 5 as this will give you a Mod file in your root IL-2. Make sure also to add the B-24 pit mod.

Yeah it was CY6_Skyraiders mod... I put the Liberator folder before the Skyraiders and I think that both mods work fine

Hi Docholiday
your great pic of the Lib & FW200 reminds me of an old chap I knew well, ~40 years ago.
He was a navigator on Sunderlands over the Atlantic, and told me this:
They were heading for home over the Bay of Biscay, after a long patrol, &  there they encountered  a Condor!
Like a couple of wary heavyweights, the two big aircraft circled each other at some distance.
Both fired off a few desultory shots, but neither was willing [or able?] to engage in a "dog-fight" !
I guess : -  fuel was getting low, and home was still a long way off.
So,eventually each of them just continued on its way.
Not a dramatic story at all - but one with a certain atmosphere...

The D model no longer crash if you look in bombsight, is it possible to fix this on this bird please. It is my favorite hobby to cripple ships with this
Post by: Kiosk on September 10, 2011, 04:39:40 PM
Thanks, this is a very nice variant of the airframe works well with CY's Command & Control mod, is there plans to put in a spot light ? ( landing light button ) for those night time strolls through submarine infested waters ?  ;D

- Note : you need the B-17 cockpit mod by ranwers to get 'er going.

I misplaced my pallete set so i just eyeballed the "blue bits" she came out with a slightly darker tint.

HOwdy,

Are there any updates for this MOD?  I have installed it, read the entire thread, @ UP3RC4 (which means Skyraiders are a part of the pack, so not sure how I can remedy that.).  IL-2 loads, and I can see the Liberator in the "Arming" section, I get all the loadouts, with rockets and all.  When I load the QMB mission, the mission loads at 100%, then IL-2 crashes...

Anyone experienced this?  I saw an earlier reply that mentioned cured some problems, but it did not have any links.

In anyway, if anyone knows what could be causing this (I have plenty of memory, and I don't have that many mods... other mods work very well)

Help me Obi One Kenobi... you are my only hope.

Hi everyone!!! but there is a solution for this bug???? (i've DBW 1.7 too)

I dont know why You have this bug ! In my DBW 1.7 all runs fine.

Th easyest solution would be to open the hier.him with  an Text.editor and delete the whole block for   radom.msh   (its on the end of the hier.him)

But now I learned to skin things and I plan to skin the radom and the winglets ib the future.

G'day , awesome plane thanks !
when I load plane and went to look at load out in QMB, I noticed there are no load out options, only default. any ideas ? I ran it in last latest DBW + DBW-up3 , still in 4.101. I haven't tried to place it in latest 5.3 act with IL2 latest updates yet.should I try the latest buttons ? or is that for only the latest  releases ? regards

this is your problem: ERROR: Can't open file '3DO/Cockpit/B-25J-AGun/Matt2D0o.mat'
this is why the cockpit don't load - you need to make sure you have the file, and that it is not damaged/corrupt.

The file 'Matt2D0o.mat' no. At the specified address only Matt3D0o. D:\Program Files\1C\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\#SAS\Liberator GR.V1.22\3do\Cockpit\B-25J-AGun\Matt3D0o.mat' has to see such a view:

[General]
tfDoubleSide 1
[LightParams]
Ambient 1.0
Diffuse 1.0
Specular 0.3

Shine 0.0
Attempts to rename the "3D0o" in "2D0o" had no success.
Downloaded several times - same result. In selecting a simple editor is no weapon, and NO-Cockpit.

Hi, I downloaded Liberator GR.V Version 1.2.2 for 4.12. But to file "Liberator GR.V Install" not available weapons_ru.
I want to write all loadout section in russian language.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone upload here weapons_ru for this wonderful plane.

THANKS!

hi guys - been catching up on my installs after being away for awhile, and i'm having problems with getting any loadouts to display, for any of my Liberators. B-24's are fine, fully modded loadouts working, but both my US and GB Liberators simply show a default option, with no others available.
i know they worked fine the last time i checked, so i'll have to do a bit of digging, to see what new weapons mod i might have added that's caused this.....?
oh, this is a modact 530/4122 game version... ;)

could you explain a little bit more?
you mean the B-24s all work but do not have loadout options?
and which fully modded loadouts do work?
for example on my WAW modded module, those new enhanced loadout options for the B-24 do not like any modded Libs and the new Lib from 4.13 for example;
but I can check my WAW module and see what I have in it Lib-wise because they all work plus their loadouts....this GR V is a mean beast :D
Title: Re: Liberator GR.V rocket armed completely new version 17.10.2012

okay, just note, my install is a Modact 530 one, not as yours, which sounds like a CUP install.
my B-24's all work correctly, with all loadouts.
however, my Liberators. both a GB one and a uS one, are displaying no loadouts, and i remember they used to have full loads, with rockets and many more. now they have nothing.
so some weapons mod must have interfered along the way since i last tested my Liberators, but i have no idea which....

edit - it's been a while since i did my own gif, let's hope this displays properly and explains better:  :D

sorry if it's a bit fast, lol - will slow things down next time....

hello!

just came back from a few test hops in both a standard WAW module and my modded one;
results: in standard WAW the Libs work as advertised, in my modded environment, I get the same problem as you have;
So it seems we will need to sort out a few things here...will report later in the afternoon; now it is out with the dogs, they are surrounding me already :D

catch you later then :)

EDIT: try the weapons pack from here:
http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,48763.0.html

it solved my problems on the spot-just make sure to load it before the aircraft mods you have;

if it helps, the mod with the B17 and B24 loadouts worked fine for me, with all the B17 and B24J-100 mod loadouts working fine.
However - the B24D loadouts mod does not work for me at all - game crashes on 20% loading.
that might have something to do with it, maybe they are related issues?
that B24D loadouts mod is only one classfile, which pre-exists in the original B24D mod without problem, but this new one causes 20% load crash...

Did you try the new 4.13 B-24 in its DBW version? Thats the one I use...and did you try if your Libs work on the ground?
Before the DBW version of the new 24 all my Libs fell on their belly when placed on the ground for takeoff...the DBW  version cured this..
Btw the J model mod from 4.13 misses two loadout options in my install..but i can live with that..

Malone, check your Hellcat III. and Grumman J2F super duck!
Why? I also have a similar problem than you, i remember that my GR.V had full loadout and lost all, Hellcat III. lost only its last loadot, and the Duck only have 2x100lbs, 2x250lbs and 2xMk53, but i have some times ago full loadout. I thing is common-the Mk.34 homing torpedo!!!
The Hellcat III. have this loadout option as the last one, the Grumman Ducks have this torps after the mentioned 3 loadouts. The GR.V have an homing torpedo loadout as first after the "default". I also trying free modding PB4Y2 Privaters, but also no loadout!
Whats happened? I have an idea. I am installed Vegas new weapons pack...Together with new Mig-21 pack, F-105, etc. And voila! This pack also contains Mk.34 files...so some hidden compatibility problem??? My game is 4.12.2 with 5.3 modact, basically a former TFM-412 with updates. So, i had F-16/18 with fully armed Duck(updated, TFM412 Duck originally an older variant) and GR.V-poor Liberators used as missile targets in training ;D

Malone, if you have FM-2GM in your 4.12.2 5.30 game, please check the HVAR missile positions...have a small empty space beetween missiles and pylons. Dont know, that is an old problem, or a new, because the mentioned weapons pack also contains an Wildcat HVAR pylon or similar named file...
So, what will happened, if someone will remove the Mk.34 related classfiles from GR.V? Its possible? Or, simply changing the weapons list, so, homing torpedo/mine related loadouts are the last? In this case, we got bombs and HVARs, but still no torps...(similar than Hellcat III.) in this case, the problem is clearly the weapons pack...
I am far from modding...Only some thinking! :)

Mopat, thanks for the suggestions - i'll try them out later today.
from the sound of it, i must have a similar issue as you, as i also have all the same mods you mention.
your thinking sounds spot on - i'll investigate further... :)

Malone, if you still have troubles with the loadouts; try the file from post #11 here:
http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,46777.0.html
this gave me the last two missing loadouts for the B-24J relook mod ..might be worth a try

thanks mate. tried those already, however - to no avail.... :(
something else is interfering, i reckon, just haven't figured out what yet....  :P

hehe that is really strange then :D
do you have any other weapons packs in your install?

lol, yes - it's not the first time i've modded myself into a strange scenario, and not having used this install in several months, i can't remember what i was last fiddling with, and what i might have changed since these loadouts last worked
i know i have two weapon related mods loading before the B-24 stuff, and that is Vega's new Weapons Pack 1.2 and the USMarine Aviation Pack...

ah I know this situation just too well...meanwhile I have introduced txt files into my install where I note stuff that I have changed to get something running and any observed side effects that creep up..otherwise I would have bitten my Warthog tons of times already when something that has previously worked does not want to cooperate any longer...

as I do not have those two packs you have mentioned, maybe the error lies somewhere there...maybe a classfile conflict? (I am no expert in java or classfile stuff though I have to say...)

okay, i'm getting closer to figuring out where the problem comes in - however, not any closer to figuring out how to solve it.
here's the story so far: i opened my old Mk34 homing torpedo folder, which was what i was using when all my Liberator loadouts still worked correctly, and compared the classes (just physically, by name, size and modification date, not the java, lol) and have found what i believe to be the cause of the problems.
in this folder there are 8 classfiles, all of which re-appear in the respective plane folders, as well as the weapons folder. the planes are the Liberators, Neptune P2V, PBY's - basically, all planes that use the Mk34 torp load.
of these 8 classfiles, all of them are identical in name, sizea and modification date, barring one - 7BCABC9A9F5B76C6
this class, in addition to appearing in all the above mentioned folders, also appears in two other weapon packs, including the weapon pack previously mentioned in this thread, called USA_GB, or such, which was specifically mentioned would solve the loadout issue in another Liberator thread.
now while the original size and mod date of this file is 1.31kb and 8/20/2008 respectively, the one from this weapons pack is 1.61kb and dated 4/6/2012.
in yet another weapons pack (the other one i mentioned earlier, not related specifically to Liberators) this file is 1.32kb in size as opposed to 1.31kb,  and mod date of 2/28/2011.
while browsing the forum during this time, i came to real;ise that the entire Liberator link and patch system in the forum, is a complete abortion of re-directs back and forth to other links.
this i will try and address in the new year, this lot seriously needs a clean-up and re-organising.
so, while i'm close knowing what's wrong, i'm not yet sure what to do about the state of these classes for the Lib weapons - the latest ones, specifically meant to stop the problem i'm having, simply don't do so.
so, do i use an older version of the same class, and mess up whatever features were done to the newer versions.
sheesh, it's an absolute bloody mess atm.....  :D

hmm, sounds reasonable..try to rem out the older instances of this classfile and try loading the pack containing the latest version of this classfile in front of any aircraft mods...
i do this with all my weapons packs...

so far, all weapons show up and seem to work-seem because I do not check each and every weapon in its intended role;
i just check if the loadouts show up and thats it...
in the case of the libs, all is fine now though...

okay, eventually figured it out - the problem wasn't the Mk34 torp, but the Mk24 FIDO loadout, which, it seems, is missing from the latest Weapons Pack.
loading the Mk24FIDO and Mk34 Homing Torp arms folder right on top of my mods list gives me all the Liberator loadouts back. :D
now, just to check what might be broken from the other Weapons pack, lol ...

hehe great that you succeeded :D
I tried to unify some of my nations specific weapons packs a long time ago (copying in stuff from several US folders into a single one for example) and that way got working packages with no weird side effects so far... (keeping fingers crossed)

it's missing from Vega's latest Weapons Pack, which was meant to be all-inclusive as far as modded weapons go - seems this one must've slipped through the cracks.
that said, Vega's pack has a Mk24_Flare - i wonder if that's not a different version of the same weapon?
either way, the relevant classfile is two years newer than the one in Vega's pack - 2013 compared to 2011, so that seems likely to be the better option.
well, i made that harder for myself than was necessary, but i got there in the end...  :D
