I've now posted a campaign, that is in a way a tribute to Checkyersix and his outstanding contributions to the IL-2 modding community, not least when it comes to simulating Nightfighting! It is a semi-historical, 8-mission static campaign, set in early 1944, and incorporating a number of his great Mods, not least his "Command and Control" mod, which I think is quite revolutionary when it comes to gameplay!

You can download it here: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&file=details&id=841
In this you are a German Night Fighter pilot, flying the Heinkel He-219 Uhu, facing ever stronger night attacks by the British RAF, including an increasing threat from enemy Nightfighters and Intruders. But you will also get better radar and electronic counter measures.

Most mission will involve finding and attacking big RAF bomber streams, on their way to or back from target (but avoid attacking them OVER the target, as you will probably be shot at by friendly AA artillery). But you will also be involved in other missions, like hunting for Allied mine layers, or intercepting high-altitude recce aircraft.

This campaign requires that you, besides Ultrapack 2.01, have the following MODS installed:
The Heinkel He-219 Uhu by Checkyersix and 101tfs

The Command and Control Mod by Checkyersix

The Happy Valley Map by Checkyersix and Asheshouse
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,3554.msg35627.html
The Halifax B Mk III by Ranwers and Charlie Chap
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,1071.0.html
The Avro Lancaster by Ranwers
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,4359.0.html
The Wellington Mk III by Ranwers.
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,2737.0.html
I also recommend that you use the Sniper Turret Gunner Fix, also by Checkyersix, to get a more realistic behavior from the bombers defensive MG gunners: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,13045.0.html.

There is a random element in this campaign, with the individual mission having small variations, for instance regarding weather, spoof raids and enemy night fighters presence. And in some missions you might actually be directed to a friendly aircraft, so be sure that you identify your target before attacking! In the later missions is it is also possible that you will have much more limited fuel – reflecting the increasing pressure that the Luftwaffe found itself under, not least logistically. So even if you replay the campaign, it will not be exactly the same. (All missions comes in three variants, the game picking one at random.)
Select a high starting rank, like Major. Regarding difficulty: select the "No Icons" and “No padlock” options! And also keep the map icons options "OFF"! This campaign is built for (and requires) Checkyersix's GREAT Command and Control MOD, which will, for the first time, make it possible to actually simulate real WW2 Night Fighter combat, with you receving directions both from a Ground Controller and from your own on-board Radar operator. And also experience some Electronic Warfare counter measures by the enemy.
A successful intercept depends on you following the directions. Just following the way-points on the map will not be enough.

Included in this campaign is 6 skins: made by Gumpy, Donaghy and VP Media. Thanks guys for your effort!

;D
-
check your six basically invented il2 nightfighting
-
Yes he did!
And Andytothed: please carry on with your own campaign! Two campaigns by two different people will never be the same!
-
true but the thing is I have trouble making campaigns but single missions are as easy as EATING pie ;D
wait did you say You tried my my trial mission!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????????
-
check your six basically invented il2 nightfighting
I really think he should change his title from "Ambassador" to "Patron Saint of NachtJager"
The more night fighter campaigns/missions the better!
-
Andy, no I haven't tried it, not yet.
All the best
/P
-
please do and let me know if it is good... or bad and what I can do too improve it.
as I said in the he-219 thread dont use schrage musik
plus I cant get the command and control mod to work :'(
also I second cwmv's request on cy6 s title
-
Thank you Poltava and thank to CY6 too ;)
-
oh good fixed it!
now how to set it up to create a campaign of my own relying on the command and control
also sorry I gotta tell this to you guys there is no longer a he-219 in my campaign :'(
I will probably make it a bf-110g4 or a me-410
-
Good luck!
The Command & Control mod is SUPER!!!!
-
just to make sure I wasnt being led on a wild goose chase (not that I dont trust the awesomeness that is CY6) I kept the path and icons on and you know what
command and control put me within 200 metres of the target after guiding me from 127km away
also I know this is almost blasphemous but I prefer the bf-110g4' it idoesnt stall and it is can cruise really slowly perfect for sitting directly under A bomber for ten minutes and then filling him up with schrage music :) it can also be very fast when you want it to be
now how do I put command and control in my own campaigns?
-
CY6 is why nightfighting is so much fun. :)
-
Wonderfull job, to all who contributed to this campaign. Its just perfect. How ever i do have a slite problem: I cant load the 5th mission. It says "Mission loading error:null". I would really like to see the rest of the campaign but now i cant proceed. tips?
-
Your missing something. Make sure you have all the planes outlined in the mission file. That's whats worked for me in the past.
-
sorry i didnt understant.
What file? in the FMB? and what should i be looking for?
-
Does this campaign work in 4.09, 4.10, and 4.10.1?
I can hardly wait to fly this. Nightfighters are my favorite.
Thanks,
binky9
-
Answered my own question.
-
I've got problems with UP3, but just using FMB, loading each mission and simply re-save, and it works GREATLY.
IMHO one of the best IL-2 experience.
Just one request: please do a 110G campaign with this mod!!!!
Thanks
-
Thanks!
Yes, CY6's C & C MOD is one of the five most important MOD's ever done, that's for sure!
And I hope to do a campaign for the Bf110 once I have a stable UP3 version running on my own rig :)
-
Ah yes my bread and butter (nightfighter) big question is will this only work in ultrapack as i am running in 4.09m HFSX, ive tried installing the uhu and get a 50% crash on loading the game, put hash marks in front of the uhu air config file and the game runs normal....please dont say it's for up only, that would be a crying shame. Gary
-
Please ignore above post, thanks to a quick hunt around i found Lthansohnerass who came to my rescue and thanks to his post, i now have the highbread He-219 V8 and the dam thing flies in 4.09m...after 2 days of pulling my hair out...many thanks

I've been flying this in DBW, and so far so good. It seems like everything needed is already there, so it's a perfect fit! Great missions, great fun.
-
Yes, all you need seems to be in DBW! DBW is great. Everything that us offliners need is there ;D And now I can do a Bf-110 Nightfighter campaign as well.
Was never really happy about the Bf 110 Berlin Nighfighter campaign I did earlier, as it wasn't proper nightfighting, and the really resource-hungry Berlin map is so resource-hungry, especially when there were a lot of fires on the ground, and searchlights in the sky.
Can we just get the Lancaster back, so... 8)

Can't wait! :)
PS: SN2b radar seems very better than SN2 or even fug218... I "modded" your campaign for my use with 110 and SN2 (that could be the right radar for the available G4), and it seems quite useless...

Hi all,
A real newbie question but I'm having a mare here. I'm trying to install checkyersix's commnad and control mod and cannot find my MODS folder. Do I dreate one or do I extract this into the jsgmemods folder?
also...
Where does the happy valley mapmod go?
finally (I hope)....
the link to the CY6 He-219 mods is dead, any ideas?
-
if there's no mods folder just create a new folder in the main directory and name it "MODS" (all caps)
-
Can this be played using the UP3?? I mean, does the radar mod work?
-
This campaign has now been updated!
(http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t286/Poltava/0000_update_he219-02_zpszyvyfscd.jpg) (http://s163.photobucket.com/user/Poltava/media/0000_update_he219-02_zpszyvyfscd.jpg.html)
It's a pretty big overhaul, mainly by implementing the latest version of the He 219 and adding the important Realistic Airfield Lights Mod by Sputnikshock. Plus some other small but important changes, like making the weather random and adding a Lorenz Blind Approach System to your airfield. (And you will also be guided by a Signal Flare when you approach your airfield!) The game version is still 4.10 (i.e. DBW 1.71), as the crucial C&C Mod is not very functional in 4.12.
You can download it here: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&file=details&id=711
I have been using the simple Nachtjagd Mod Pack as a basis for this update, as I will when updating all my old Nightfighting campaigns from now on.
More info on the Nachtjagd Mod Pack here: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&file=details&id=2143
Thanks for looking :)
-
Sorry mate but I think that the link is poniting to the Kammhuber campaign....
-
Oops! Thanks! Will fix it ASAP.
-
:)
-
I'm crashed upon start up, my wheels are up and uhu is askew on runway. Also my mission description is blank and the intro doesn't work either.
I've installed everything(required mods individually I didn't use the nacht pack) proper I think.
What part of the log do I post? Its really big.
Please help this campaign looks awesome.
And I just built a 1/32 scale Uhu so I'm stoked.

You have mods that clash, and knowing which ones is terribly hard and requires troubleshooting that takes a lot of time. There is a quick and simple solution: use the Nachtjagd Mod Pack instead!
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,46298.0.html
(And use is exactly as it says: apply it via JSGME over a vanilla DBW 4.10 install.

Thanks man.
I'll try both.
