Instalation:
1) In free mod: remove from mod Carrier Crew v4 folders with thats carriers and add this mod,
2) In UP3 - just add mod to #UP#

In Essex is working lift - just for eye candy.
Not modded british carriers - sorry.

I have not installed V4. But I see what you mean by old crew.

I have installed Carrier Crew for Korean War Carriers, but that install was an addition to those 2 carriers only, not the USS Essex ?

Will try removing that and see what happens.

Tried that, did not solve the problem.

Solved it, I recently installed ShipPack2, and within that there are 2 files for The Essex and the Intrepid which include the old Carrier Crew V4, simply got rid of them and the problem is fixed. 

Excellent mod Ranwers and thank you for pointing me in the right direction to sort it.

Great stuff.

There is one thing though:

Is there a way to stop the port side elevator? It's kinda neat but it's kinda distracting too!! Someone mentioned in the WIP section that someone would complain about it. Sorry, I'm it!!

I'm working on getting this to work on my USN Fleet Carriers and will work this right into my next release of USN Light Carriers. What I need to know is where to find the guys with the yellow shirts. I've found the red and blue but can't seem to find the yellow. Also, I'll need to make these specific to the carriers that had the Measure 21 Navy Blue Scheme. Maybe PM me with these solutions.

Have the same thing going on and have removed version 4 but, this mod Ranwers 00_deckplanes_test also seems to clash with his new mod will let you know fix as soon as I can figure it out.(UPDATE) there appears that there is no way to have both mods installed at the same time,unless Ranwers decides to integrate his deckplanes mod with his new mod here,we will have to settle for one or the other.

Thank you Ranwers for the prompt fix attempt. That slowed the elevator down but I'm sorry, I feel it still needs to pause full up for at least 10 seconds; 15 might be better. The full down could be less time.

Does anyone else feel this way or it just me?

[edit]: I just fiddled with the timing of 'lift1.txl' changing the entry from '10.0' to '150.0'. Strange things happened; the elevator disappeared sometimes and sometimes paused at the top for about 12 seconds while another elevator appeared under it moving down. Very preliminary testing and I'm out of time for now but I'm going to pursue this line of testing.

The only downside is now I have to deactivate my deckplanes_test mod in UP because the
old figures show. :(  Would it be possible to make a new version of that please that would

you dont use the lift at all, u can taxi over it but its just an animation. your plane wont go up and down with it.

That would still look funny... a plane moving up and down on an elevator without getting off ::)

I think you can see it on your own install online, unless maybe the server/game host has it as well, then possible those without it won't see it.

Seriously, is there a way to turn it off/remove a file to get it to stop moving (since it's just eye candy - taxiing over it does nothing)?

  Or remove most of the steam, but in a speculative way; move a few whisps to/for low pressure steam port/valve for a 'quick glance/visual' Wind Over the Deck Gusting/Heading for non catapult carriers - IJN/IJA carriers used such a system, or a possible reason for the 110degree-ish reawardly radiating multiple lines towards the bows.
  Possibly other nations had carrier types with some similar/other visual wind/gust aids for take off.

Simply, delete all lift related files from your installation. I did it and work perfectly.

hmmm...I tried searching "lift" and deleted all those, and it didn't work (meaning that if any of these files are deleted, the whole carrier doesn't show). Also tried deleting only the lift*.txl, didn't work. Also tried lift*.mat only, didn't work, and neither did lift*.msh only.

Which lift file(s) did you delete to eliminate the lift animation?

deleting all of the lift*.* also ends up removing the carrier itself :(

Iam:

If you have Carrier Crew v4 (CCv4) I have the fix for your dilemma. I know it works because I just went in and did it again to make sure of the order of operations.

Open the Carrier Crew v5 (CCv5) folder down to the 'ships' folders. Copy/paste 'USSIntrepidCV11' so you get a folder marked 'USSIntrepidCV11 - Copy'.

Go up the list and rename the folder 'USSEssexCV9' to something else like 'USSEssexCV9 - Original' - just in case things f**k up!

Go back down the list and rename 'USSIntrepidCV11 - Copy' to 'USSEssexCV9'.

Open this folder and delete the following files:
   skin1o.tga
   skin1o.tgb
   skin1p.tga
   skin1q.tga

Go into CCv4 to the 'ships' folders and open 'USSEssexCV9'.

Copy the following files:
   skin1o.tga
   skin1o.tgb
   skin1p.tga
   skin1q.tga

Close CCv4 and reopen CCv5 to the 'ships' folders.

Open 'USSEssexCV9' and paste the files you just copied.

Close everything and run the game.

This is what it took for me to get the elevator stopped. Everything you tried did the same for me - missing ship and all.

I noticed the animated LSO on the fantail.  Is there any chance of making the LSOs properly functional, possibly with radio calls?  That would be a HUGE immersion booster and something that's been lacking since we shipped PF in 2005.  I'll even provide LSO voice recordings if necessary.

Maybe if new radio calls are too much, he can start radioing and signalling when the player requests landing clearance.
The way he is currently programmed, he's telling the player, "High dip high dip bank right high dip high dip bank right!" Which means, "Nose down nose down (already dropped 50 ft) bank right (splash)"

Actually in the ancient game like CFS2 and Jane's F/A18 there is already visual signal for player to manipulate the real carrier land.However ,the landing sequence is really bad for IL2 ,both on-board or landbased. Probably that is because Russians in WWII seldom care about proper landing procedure, they just go up and down as they like,depending on their own skill rather than system :D

Can anyone else verify this problem I am having with Carrier Crew V5:

First of all, I am using Dark Blue World v1.6.  I wondered if this was it but everything else seems to work just fine.

There seems to be a problem with the CVL23 Princeton.  I have recently created a mission that uses several carriers.  All seem fine except during testing when I press "Shift+F2" to cycle through the friendly units and get to the Princeton, it's basically a black screen rather than a static camera type view of the carrier.  I switched a file from one of the other carriers until I found the culprit.  It's a file called "sailor1.msh".  I have no idea why but swapping it with the same named file from another escort type carrier eliminates the problem.

Please let me know if this is shared by others or if it's just my problem...  TIA

I just dropped the Carrier Crew 4 into my #DBW folder and nothing shows up on the carrier decks. Do I need to do more to install this? I also tried with Crew version 5 and had the same results...no crew on USN fleet carriers.

Here's hoping you unzipped the RAR file with 7zip before you put it in your mods folder.   ;)  You should be able to tell it's working by watching the opening track there should be Japanese crew and American crew on bought carries.

Hello, I did use 7 zip and placed the Carrier 4 Crew folder inside of the #DBW folder. Since the newest one is version 5 I also placed it inside the #DBW folder. Neither one works. DO they BOTH need to be in the #DBW folder at the same time?

I tried the movie...no crews are on deck. Any ideas? The Carrier Crew 5 has been placed inside the #DBW folder as that is the game I use. ( C:\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\#DBW ) HELP????

Wonderful mod! Now, I can blame my deck splattered landings on the LSO and his insane paddling.... ;D

For the Essex carriers, is there any way to ID/remove the 3 poor individuals standing right on the deck that I run over with my Hellcat every time I take off? I do feel sorry for them and would rather see them below decks than being decapitated.

I have an issue with this mod. Maybe it's just me but I need help. When in "View Objects" or FMB I will place down a US stock escort carrier and poof, my game freezes. It has done this for a while. 4.101m & 3.06 ModAct  :(

Need help installing this. Still useing 4.09 with UP 2.01. I'm familiar with JSGME and the proper folder structure for mods. No go with JSGME. Even made backup of "Ships" folder in 3do, and replaced with "Ships" folder in this mod. Still not seeing extra crew on deck. What gives?

In the "View Objects" of my DBW1.71, a lot of the CVLs+crewV5 cause an immediate freeze-crash as I try to view them;
closing my computer session is the only way to stop Il2 and regain control. Also see top of this page problem a year ago.

USSPrincetonCVL23 and about two/third of Plowshare's CVLs have the following mesh:

    -->  Sailor1.msh of 11/06/2011 5:11 AM 240kb; this is the source of the problem;

 I used Sailor1.msh of 07/06/2011 3:23 PM  195kb  as replacement, then crashes are gone for these ships in the object viewer.
NOTE the alternate msh will make it's crew appear in mid air on upper observation deck. So crew-mod's Hier.him of sister ship must be applied as well to locate crew properly.                   
Again, only USSPrincetonCVL23 has this file, in your basic v5 download.
But it was used by Plowshare in many of his CVLs, but not all. I hope you find this help full   8)

First of all, thanks a lot for your advice. Sadly, I have the same issues you mentioned with those japanese carriers, conflicts with Essex's crew so I had to remove it, and other newly added to HSFX7.

I hope somebody could fix that in the future, and add more carrier crews to the whole carrier package.

I have this mod installed with 4.12m and hsfx 7.0.3 and it works (placed in MODS folder not jsgme).  I like the placement of the drck crew.  Can the animation be stopped?  The port side elevator is continuously moving up and down as fast as a blinking light.  Also can you choose to have the LSO arms stationary or at least reduce the rate at which he moves his arms since  he looks like a signalman sending semiphore messages?   Does this mod also change the deck and ship skin?  Can the items I listed be "turned off" within the individual folders like you do with mods when you choose not to run one?  Thank you

What exactly is the fix?  I have a HSFX 7.0.3 installation and I have the same graphics problem with the USN CVL's.  No problems with the USN CV or CVE.  I do not have the problem in my VPMod installation.

In my game UP2.01 (of course) I have 2 CVL with crew : USS Princeton CVL23 & USS San Jacinto CVL30 !

I have all nine (9) USN CVL (mod) in my HSFX install.

This anomaly as depicted in PA_Jeronimo's image of CVL-30 occurs in my HSFX 7.0.3  installation.  This anomoly is not present in my vp-mod installation.

I will try your fix and let you know.
