Title: Transport type "Liberty".
Post by: tvister on February 01, 2019, 02:54:14 PM
Good day! I present the beta version of the transport ship type "Liberty".
The original model from the game SH5. According to my information, the state of the model reflects the device of military transport, the first half of 1942. Night, running lights were added. It works steadily in version 4.12.2m SAS Mod 5.30.

Thanks:

Respectfully listen to all the comments.

I am very pleased with your praise. But please remember, this is not my model, I took it from the SH5 game. All thanks to the creators of this model. In addition, due to the peculiarities of texturing, the model and textures of the damage are affected.

Thanks a lot.

Liberty class was a legend. The last one I saw (decommissioned one) was berthed in Vladivostok at the end of 1980s.

I hope that wizards of BAT will notice and will include this model in the next expansion pack.

Awesome! My Grandfather spent his war on one of these in the Pacific. He had some wild stories. Glad to see it being added!!

I try to attach the running lights. The bow and stern are installed, the side, right (green) and left (red) are not obtained.

Parts of the shadow is blinking a little bit, here's why: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,12200.msg537621.html#msg537621
I also get a repeated console warning about clearing vBuffer. Press shift+tab when testing.

Alas shimmering shadows is a common problem of all my models. I'm sorry, but I do not know how to deal with it. :(

Model reference updated.
Changes:
1. Perekrasil hatches.
2. Fixed the shimmering shadow of the second mast. Thanks vpmedia and asheshouse.
3. Increased the burning time of running lights, from half past midnight to six in the morning.
4. In some places optimized mesh, removed double vertices.

Alas shimmering shadows is a common problem of all my models. I'm sorry, but I do not know how to deal with it. :(

To stop the flckering, before exporting the shadow meshes ensure that you apply the same single material texture to all of the shadow meshes. It does not matter what material you use provided all shadow meshes have the same one.

Nice model though.

Good day. Thank you all for your kind words. Please remember this is not my model. I just imported it into IL. Updated model loaded. But on the Aviaskins website, there was a discussion about the hatches. I want to change their texture and add some small details.
About the flicker of shadows. I work in Blender and when I create a shadow model, I delete the slot material altogether. Flicker can be caused by double peaks.

Cargo ships are really more useful in IL-2 than all those heavily protected capital ships. Not as impressive looking perhaps, but they did make a far larger part of naval vessels during WWII. So many thanks.

Thanks to our colleague from CAC WxTech, we managed to correct the classes to increase the burning time of the lights from 18.30 to 5.26.
If someone needs classes here, on the Aviaskins development pagehttp://forum.aviaskins.com/showthread.php?p=198287#post198287 (http://forum.aviaskins.com/showthread.php?p=198287#post198287) (I can't add the RAR archive here). Unzip the folder with the liberty to the substitute to agree.
P.S. That would be someone who explained how to implant a class of air defense searchlight in the class of the ship ...

NVM. An idiotic omission on my part lead to premature bleating... Seems to work in 4.09.

FYI, there is still a Liberty ship in operation that's berthed in Baltimore named the S.S. John Brown.  I've toured it once and know one of the 2nd mates.

Is there a way to replace the hsfx stock liberty ship with this one instead?
That one looks bad while this is a beatuiful port

Ps: It's a nice touch but ships in ww2 didn't use any lights and steamed in complete blackout with even the portholes covered
This is why ;D
