Shea, it's best to put them in your mods folder, if there's a problem you can just remove it.
put the prs file into a folder in Mods, folder structure like so:
IL2/Mods/(Whatever name you want here)/presets/sounds
put the wav samples into IL2/Mods/(same as the one above)/samples
that should do it. hope my explanation makes sense  ;D

Actually, Kryptonite works. Otherwise....god knows.

Jafa; any chance up upping the volume on the .303 external? I can do it in audacity, but it distorts the sound...
these sounds are great BTW :D

Ed , first up the spl in the presets for the spit its NOT the vickers one but the other , if your still not happy then ill seewhat I can do , im away at work until after the weekend so it will have to wait until Monday.

Ed, in the preset you will find the spll , I normally set it to between 115 and 120 for weapons , though it dose not change the volume it changes the loudness you hear it at certain distances , try upping it by increments of 3 and see what you think.

jafa's sounds are the best. as are his beautifully made videos (more please).

but can u give an idiot like me a VERY simple explanation of how to install these new gun sounds please?

they sound spot on. from my limited experience of hearing larger calibre weapons firing, it's normally more the sound of the bolt hitting metal than a bang that you hear. and if you were in a fast moving aircraft, i reckon that's all you'd hear. i think jafa has got closest here judging by the youtube vid.

Very simple, go to your main Il2 Sturmovik 14946 folder and either in your files folder you find a sounds and  a presets folder where you put the...sounds and the presets of the modded sounds in, either you find your MODS folder where you put your sounds folder in with your...sounds and your presets folder.

Create your own Presets , Samples folders put my new stuff in them and..............place in the Files folder system or Mods folder system , either will work....sorry , I didn't put a guide in cos SAS is sucha heavy modding comunity I just expect every one to know what to do ..... my apologies

this mod is over 4 years old, just in case you guys hadn't noticed. there have been so many game version changes since then, including many sound changes, it's literally guaranteed not to work on new versions, so no point in a new link.
probably better if i just pull this thread, actually.
