Title: MissionPro Combo - fully revised for v4.12.2m [4.12]
Post by: benitomuso on September 09, 2014, 09:35:35 PM
Mission Pro Combo MOD
includes: Mission Pro, Q.M.B. Pro and F.M.B.+
Final Revision for v4.12.2m

Mission Pro Combo 4.12.2m:

Introduction: When 4.12 appeared, I was not in a MODding mood and to make it compatible (because previous version for v4.11 didn't work) I transfered the sources of the MissionPro to SAS~Storebror, who created a working version in record time to catch the launching of v4.12 of the game. But it wasn't ever fully revised. Now I took the time and I fixed several issues pointed out by some users:

-Bug with Multi Selection of Objects in Full Mission Builder.
-Hangup when entering Quick Missions if you changed between different packs installations (HSFX7, Pre-DBW2, ModAct 5.30... this is something very relevant with the TotalMODder Easy Pack for example).
-Several things in the map ordering.
-I adopted the criteria of Countries in Object Search in Full Mission Builder used by Team Daidalos. In fact, as previously they did, they took some code adaption I introduced, in a different way. So to be more convergent I took the class as implemented by them.
Full Mission Builder Plus+:
-Team Daidalos took the Mouse Wheel scroll in FMB and implemented it similar to me. Again: to standardize, I accepted their code which is a reversion of mine.

Full Mission Builder+ v4.12.2m reworked from the original classes. Now it orders the planes in the combobox for selection in the same way you have established for QMBPro (alphabetically or normal). It includes options for Single Missions, Campaigns and Net Missions.

QMBPro v4.12.2m a lot of different contents merged.
-Solved some problems present in the now corrected 4.101m code.
-The sort order for planes list is kept and switching between alphabetical or Standard you don't loose the planes selected.
-The main feature here is that YOU CAN USE ALL THE PREVIOUS QUICK MISSIONS!  My Mod is fully compatible with the old 8 flights QMB missions of 4.09m and previous versions while still being able to read flawlessly the 4.10m new 16 flights missions.
-I have included the folder Missions\Quick with all the previous QMB missions that were around in the forum arranged in individual folders as now are required to operate with 4.10m. In the case they were old missions with only 8 flights, you will see the next 8 as empty ones.
-The contents of "Mission" combobox are the actual names of the files present in the mission folder. So we are not limited anymore to the standard names: Airbase, Armor, Bridge, None, Scramble and Strike. You can have a DestroyCarrier set of missions i.e. and they will be listed. Nothing extra is required for it. Now the Target themselves are the current filenames of the missions in the corresponding mission folder.
-Changed behavior of stock 4.12.2m: when you select from the "Mission" combobox the one you want to use, it will display in Target the corresponding type, and if it is "None" eventually the Adv or Dis, etc.
-It has a couple of corrections in the internal code plus the suggestion of Malone for having a Combo to set the Countries for each flight.

Why a combo?  -Because there are some interdependencies between classes that didn't exist before and now require that all are homoegeneous. I took the time to debug everything from my previous Mission Related MODs and make them clear.

The QMB Pro now has a link to the F.M.B. too. It allows you to edit the Quick Mission that you are selecting:

(http://s13.postimg.cc/ocbrwwekn/2014_09_10_at_11_05_52.jpg) (http://postimg.cc/image/44yc4lh37/full/)

The Big ComboBoxes as the one of Planes or this one of Missions, are Auto-Limited now to not exceed the height of the Screen. It is a problem derived from the stock code that in the past we have solved by setting the size of the auto-expansión. Nothing of that is required anymore.

(http://s13.postimg.cc/z9d3lo1c7/2014_09_10_at_11_05_55.jpg) (http://postimg.cc/image/kdeke2pxf/full/)

Single Mission Pro v4.12.2m.
The Combo of the the Mission Pro allow us to change the conditions of missions, plus decide if the parachutes (a fps impacting feature) will be enabled or not. Now it remembers the last mission for Single Missions, Campaigns, Net Mission of every kind, etc. (this feature originally was only available for Single Missions and off-line campaigns).
Now you can invoke (only for Single Missions) the Full Mission Builder (F.M.B.) from the Single Mission Pro, and it opens the mission you were working on. This F.M.B. is based on FMBPlus, but the scrollwheel operation and some minor extra functions required to make it available for other modules (QMB and Briefing screens) were implemented:

Regarding this: some time ago I used to include a set of missions in the alternative folder, to make things easier for users. I can upload a set of them too. It would be up to the user if taken or not.

Pablo, found a tiny glitch with FMBs Load-Save Menus dimensions.

Yes, you will see that if you just give a small resize to it, the client will use all the available size.

In fact this is something noted by Kumpel, who pointed out the fact that the Save Dialog was too small and inconvenient for operating with big lists. So he guided me on how to increase its size. But I haven't found a way to auto-resize the client ListViews to be long enough. Typical methods for it don't work.

Hi Pablo,

just set up a new 4.12.2m with ModAct5.3 and your Mission Pro Combo and get a "Data File Corrupt" message all the time. I just installed your mod and the latest Engine Mod.
I have no idea, tried to set it up new and still the message. Can you help?

Thanks for an answer,

where do you get this error message? In QMB?

Delete .last.quick in /Quicks dir.
maybe it helps.

Yes, I got in in QMB. The reason was that I didn't activate a map - stupid me...
10 years of IL2 and still such stupid mistakes.

Thanks for the answer.

Dear Pablo,
Thank you for your amazing work - these just bring IL2 right up to date in 2014. I've just 2 questions - and before anyone says, I know they are probably very naive  :P
1. Exactly where do I put the pack of QMB missions I've downloaded from your first post and then how do I activate them?  I've tried every combination of Quicks etc. I've got all the maps but no missions to upload in QMB. Is there an .ini entry I have to make?
2. I note that you refer to 'scroll with mouse wheel to zoom' but that doesn't seem to apply to the minimap. In the stock minimap you can scale up or down by right (or left?) clicking. That obviously brings up the minimap menu in your mod. Is there any way to change the scale in the minimap in your mod?
Thanks for your help.
Mike

hi, curious. can mission be set up for carrier based missions for the jets and even prop driven. been land-based flying but wanted to know. if so, how do you set it up.Thx.
I shd clarify, is there a tab or button within this utility to made missions carrier based. I know there was a utility that could make carrier based missions and got it from mission4today but was never updated. forget the name.

similar to this which was never updated

Sounds good!
A question: possible to use with 412 The Next Level? Because the latter is already a heavy modded environment, with lot of new maps in FMB, etc. 8)

What does your error log say?
Does the map load in FMB and can you save a normal mission?

My stupidity again.  When I load this using JSGME it doesn't do anything.  If I use the one that came included with the SAS Modact (which says it was for 4.11.1 (I think), enabled through JSGME, that one does work.  What am I missing?  Are they the same?  Thank you.

In jsgme undo the mission pro then go to the sas folder and if mission pro still shows delete it.
Then go to the mission pro thread and dl the first one in line I believe it says mission pro for 412,2 final dl that then unzip and direct install to the sas folder not thru jsmge.
I have found out that it seems to work better that way by direct install.

Believe me, as painful as it is to admit it, I am, and you won't hurt my feelings at all by thinking it.  Thank you.  When I tried to install this latest, it just reverted me to the "original QMB", or rather the one that came with the game in the first place, if that makes any sense.  (see my first sentence).  But I trying through JSGME.  Anyhow, I am gonna try and do as you recommend and see what happens.  My main concern, as always, has been not to do something that will screw up my game.  I think you guys know how to fix things such as that, but me, no so much.  I can just start over with a complete and fresh reinstall, and all those mods are killers.  Thanks again.

To keep from reinstalling everything do a complete backup to a safe area. Like if your hd is big enough on your hd or a ext. hd. I have 4 6gig ext hd. for storage and backup yes they are all marked that way being old and gray hair will not forget what where and who is on it.

Just wanted to thank you again for your help.  What you suggested worked.  Then, an amazing thing happened.  I started the game and started QMB and I didn't have any maps.  Then I remembered reading something in the forum that said that if you don't have missions then you won't have maps either.  The first page here (first post) had a link to missions for QMB, so I downloaded them, put them in where I thought they went, and now it works.  Glory be!  I did something right.  And if you would permit me to ask one last question - I have a QMB folder under missions, but I also have a Quick folder.  What the heck is it?  What's it for?  Will I ever have need of it?  Guess that was three different questions, sorry.  Thank you again.

Bob,
The Quick folder is installed when you install the game and contains only the qmb missions for maps in the non modded 4.12.2 install.

If you keep a non modded copy, look in its Missions folder, the Quick folder there matches the one in your modded game.

I would not mess with it.

benitomuso,

Just for your information, I found that there is a difference between the install in this thread and the version of MissionProCombo you include with Total Modder Easy Pack.  The difference I found was that the version here works when trying to install TFM412 with Total Modder; the version you included with Easy Pack causes a crash in FMB when attempting to select any static object (aircraft, artillery, ships, etc).  Only in FMB.  I installed Pre DBW2 as well and that is not an issue with it... seems that it only affects TFM412, and I would imagine the upcoming Compressed Full Monty (CFM).

The specific differences between this install here is that it has 397 vs 394 files in Total Modder Easy Pack.  Easy Pack MissionProCombo is missing the following files:  3BA0EBD27A0BF1CC, C83DC122AC43C2E0 and F2B7D2A28A1E7DCC.

More details here:  https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,40015.msg495904.html#msg495904
... if you are interested.

Thank you for your great utilities.

while the missionpro combo pack is one of the most useful and well worked out mods available for il-2 at all (much praise here!) i was sad to find out that one feature of the old QMB was abandoned:

the random loading of numbered missions for a map. [example: having 3 different "BlueScrambleXX" missions]
i think this feature was perfect for people who wanted a quick (training) flight, but still wanted to be surprised.

for example i want to create 3-4 scramble missions for a map, where you have the enemy approach from a different direction and arrive at a different time, while the player is starting his aircraft for scramble in each numbered variant of the mission.

now with the modern missionpro QMB the player has to choose explicitly the one mission he wants to fly... so there will be no surprise, while with the old random loading method he could just choose "BlueScramble" and end up in any one of the 3-4 pre-built QMB missions!

i would not want to miss out on missionpro Combo ever again, but i just wanted to share my thoughts on this special matter anyway :)

best regards,

thanks for considering this. it is not an important matter, but maybe in the future you find time to look at it. i imagine it something like this and made a mock-up picture to present it better :

when you select "random" you will only see the mission type name without the numbered versions!
when turning "random" off you can choose freely any mission you want (like now).

cheers!

this was kind of an invisible feature. the QMB mission select file only showed the missions like "BlueScramble" or "BlueNoneA" (i am not sure if it showed 00 too, but it showed just ONE version of each mission type), so when you had more than one mission of the same type (numbered with 00,01,02,03 etc) it was loaded randomly when you selected fly.

this is mentioned in many tutorials for the QMB and QMB mission creation and on many postings at M4T and SAS.

i cannot provide any screenshots of the original QMB. i tried running stockgame and tried to disable missionprocombo in my #sas folder, but then i cant load the game at all. hehe.

edit: i found the posting where benitomuso mentioned removing the feature:

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,12224.msg128614.html#msg128614

again, this is not a big thing, i don't want to stir up any trouble or anything. i just wanted to mention, that i think this feature is very good and i miss it to enjoy randomized Scrambles or Dogfights in QMB.

cheers!

Hi,

Something that bothered me for some time... I got the targets back to their right location in the brief window by restoring the 4.12.2 stock GUIBriefing.class

I didn't notice any relevant changes or additions in the class included in MissionPro Combo for v4.12.2m so I assume it is safe to have it removed/replaced.

Either delete class 48804A2897F67F1A from your modded game so that IL-2 uses the stock class (preferred method) or place the fix proposed below above !!00_PAL-MissionProCombo-v4122 folder:

! ! ! Stock 4.12.2 GUIBriefing.class.zip

Cheers!

EDIT 19-May-2019: Note below update.

Mission Pro Combo PLUS v0.5

>>> Mission Pro Combo PLUS has now its own topic (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,62173.msg684490.html#msg684490)

B.A.T. users!

This mod is already built in BAT. If you have THE BLITZ v3.6.2 (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,61106.msg673087.html#msg673087) or later, you don't need to do anything else since you already have Mission Pro Combo PLUS v0.5.

Mission Pro Combo is a wonderful but complex mod that has been serving well for years. Codename/version "PLUS v0.5" is an initiative to improve multiplayer compatibility, fix some annoyances and enhance the Full Mission Builder experience. This update installs on top of the original download that can be found in the first post of this topic.

New FMB Controls window

I use the Full Mission Builder sparingly, and when I want to edit a mission I always have to browse the net to understand what key does what.

There are hundreds of well crafted tutorials and videos and thousands of topics about FMB and mission building. All refer to the exact set of keys and the common knowledge available is outstanding. Changing FMB keys is possible (I won't explain how) but counterproductive and hardly useful: when you change a key you render a tutorial inaccurate.

To improve the FMB experience I propose to have a window that displays the default FMB Control keys. Simple and useful.

I also took the chance to make the "Load Mission" and "Mission Description" windows larger by default to take advantage of modern high-res screens.

It was detected the Mission Description fields (Name/Short/Brief) can get mixed up upon loading several different missions. To (try to) solve the situation I reverted the offending class to stock 4.12.2.

I also added the "save" prompt to the Recent Missions menu. Up until now you could open a mission and lose all changes of the mission you were just editing.

The mod includes the briefing fix discussed right above this post. Allow me to quote myself:

It was detected some multiplayer modes can freeze the screen when loading campaigns. To prevent this from happening I restored a couple of stock NetServer classes.

Last, I took this chance to darken the red & blue font colors that can be seen in QMB and in the Briefings. The original colors were too bright to my liking.

DONWLOADS!

The mod installs of top of Mission Pro Combo for 4.12.2. Find Mission Pro Combo in the first post of this topic. Download the update below and drop the contents to your MODS/00_PAL-MissionProCombo-v4122 folder.

(Once again: BAT users should upgrade to THE BLITZ v3.6.2 (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,61106.msg673087.html#msg673087) or later).

Yet another bl**dy wonderful addition to the game! And this one fixes something that has been bothering me for a long time: that in order to get changes to briefings to "stick" you had to exit not only the FMB but the entire game, and start again. Just for that you should be given some kind of award!!!  :D :D :D

Hi Whistler I have a problem - with this installed my MAP button no longer works in my FMB I have to go to FILE > LOAD MAP> and view the whole list from there, but then I cannot exit the FMB because It wont allow me to click the EXIT button it just continues to show the map list whenever I click on the FILE button??? I have to a Ctrl Alt Del to exit the game. Using CUP btw.

Hi PO_MAK,

What is it that you did there my friend? Where was Mission Pro Combo before applying the update? Where did you install the update to? If unsure:

1) Download Mission Pro Combo
2) Download PLUS and move contents to 00_PAL-MissionProCombo-v4122
3) Rename 00_PAL-MissionProCombo-v4122 to !!00_PAL-MissionProCombo-v4122
4) Move !!00_PAL-MissionProCombo-v4122to your #MOD folders

That should do it.

Cheers,

Hi whistler i will try moving it up the mod tree. Installed as per usual into #WAW so theres maybe a conflict somewhere?
Update! I think my issue was i thought this replaced the old missionpro instead of being an update! Shoulda read the instructions better lol

Good day! I have a 4.12.2m + Modact 5.3 install. I installed QMBPro 4.12 + QMBPro Mission compilation. I’m noticing that many of the missions are not showing up in the map select menu. I’m assuming that the maps are missing. Are the maps accessible somewhere in the game? If yes, how do you activate them in QMBPro? If no, then are all the maps needed available? I appreciate the help!
