Title: Polish planes add-on&upgrade
Post by: ls on March 17, 2015, 12:46:10 PM
So, I think it will be very nice to have all these Polish planes, which were already incorporated in TFM 4.12 and this upgrade (it works in my install of C.U.P.):

Major update to PZL P.11c by Kumpel:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,21041.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,21041.0.html)
It contains new 3D model, new cockpit and some extras (rain animation on the windshield).
Can be installed as 3D add-on to stock P.11c, or in own slot (this one variant seems to be better - cause You have extras: new FM, sounds for Bristol Mercury, raindrops on a windshield etc.).

PZL P.11g (released on March 25, 2015, tested in C.U.P.)
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,45391.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,45391.0.html)

Then PWS-10 (not only Polish scenarios, for example SCW too) by Loku:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,20453.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,20453.0.html)

PWS-26 by Loku:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,25198.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,25198.0.html)

ls

EDIT 2015-04-15: It was done - WAW part 8

"And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you."

Thank You once again Monty!!!

come first to my mind.

Also, the new 3d for the MiG-3 and its new cockpit would be very nice https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,13907.msg146408.html#msg146408 (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,13907.msg146408.html#msg146408) and https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,25749.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,25749.0.html).

For all planes, the possibility to use them without HiRez mod would be a real "plus".

I browsed through objects, vehicles and such and was wondering: why are the beautiful locomotives, wagons not included?
Or have I missed something somewhere?
The oldskool trains look hideous.

Mates, most of you don't care to read before post, do you?

When making suggestions, please help by including links.

See what we've got:

I think you're wrong.
We have a way less intrusive version available HERE (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,43248.0.html) which doesn't touch a whole bunch of base game classes and still serves the very same purpose, and the best is: It's really compatible with any base game version.

So that's a suggestion, huh?

Mates, take a second and put yourself into the CUP developers' shoes.
How on earth do you think they should have the 72-hour-days required to do all the footwork for you?
You want to have your favourite mod in CUP but adding a single link is too much already?
Seriously?
C'mon...

and:

2. Ryujo https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,13254.0.html

Dvor...if the ships are gio ships then leave out the class files...for gio creations CUP contains the necessary classfiles...adding again older ones will crash your game at 70%

Griffon_301, thanks for your advice. Without classfiles "Hosho" works without any questions.
I'm interested in MODs only a few last months. So, for me, like for every "child", every information about the world of mods is priceless!

You're welcome dvor :) that's what this community is here for.
and rest assured ... I crashed my CUP install several times while trying to add more ships.
the key is to backup the std folder before adding stuff.
that way you can easily revert back to a previous running version if anything goes wrong :)

I'll put in a proper 2c and say that I really enjoyed having infantry in HSFX, it brought in a whole new level of realism for me, I believe these are the mods:

New Infantry and Mortars (v 1.02): https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,9530.0.html

Infantry in combat: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,9154.0.html

and maybe even this one for the JTW but thats just another thing: http://freeil2modding.free-forum.net/1-vt1642.html

Having these added to C.U.P would be cool.

Hello Gents,

Maybe the B-25D and J Series could be completed with these :

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,37998.0.html

That would be great  ;)

And I forgot to mention the Triggers too, but I can't find any link to these.

Good Morning, I also would like to propose some fine mods for inclusion in CUP:

Spitfire Mk VIII Fb version, modified by Stefan SG at https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,43442.0.html
Gives us a more realistic Mk VIII with bomb loads and retracting tailwheel. (If this could be added to the default Mk VII's it would save some skinfolders as well.)

Spitfire MK XIV fr version, by SAS~GJE52 at https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,28910.0.html For me one of the nicest Spitfires ever made

Spitfire Pr Mk XIX, by ton414 at https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,18078.0.html To make the Pr variants complete.

Seafire Mk I, II, II 4xHispano, II Merlin 45 & II Merlin 5o, by SAS~CirX at https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,1663.0.html
To make the Seafire series complete, and perhaps Whiskey_Sierra's proposition could be implanted:
Mk.Ib with Merlin 45 or 46 , 3 blade propeller , with air filter;
F.Mk.IIc (2xH) with Merlin 45 or 46 , 3 blade propeller , with air filter;
L.MK.IIc (2xH) with Merlin 32 , 4 blade propeller , with or without air filter option;
L.MK.IIc (4xH) with Merlin 32 , 4 blade propeller , with or without air filter option;
L.Mk.IIc with Merlin 55M , 3 blade propeller without air filter.

I've noticed that all of Cyberolas repaints for his Eastern Front maps have been included in C.U.P. except for his Crimea map:

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,16373.0.html

and also omitted is tbauchot's update for Westfront40-44 maps

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,44070.0.html

Both installed and tested in my C.U.P. game version.

Mates, most of you don't care to read before post, do you?
When making suggestions, please help by including links.
...

following this I cleaned this thread and removed all requests
without links. "can't find it atm", "have no time" isn't a excuse.

btw: this isn't the thread to debate/request tech help etc. or
to request for any "new" mods .... for this start a thread in
the request section following the requests guideline.
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/board,175.0.html

Only add mods here wich are available! And please do not forget
to add the links to this mods. Thank you.  ;)

Also I go through the CUP threads and split and merge with this thread
posts wich suggests mods and have a link.

Blue exhaust flames beyond 96% throttle that were previously in Tiger 33's Ultimate Sound mod (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,3258.0.html).

I found this mod The one-stop solution 3do folder (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,30047.msg314212.html#msg314212) and surprisingly it works with no tinkering, I can copy-paste effects folder which takes only 459KB to the #WAW fodler, without meshes and it sill works just fine.
Few plans have flames displaced, copying meshes fixed flames displacement on those few planes but I cant help but wonder about conflicts.

In any case I am mentioning The one-stop solution 3do folder (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,30047.msg314212.html#msg314212) as well because it might help CUP dev team port flames mod.

I just started a separate thread for my adders.   Which includes "#WAW_4th adder v2"  I call the new thread ...

"JSGME Aircraft Additions to C.U.P. WAW Module-03 World at War"

You can find it at:

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,45858.msg512326.html#msg512326

This will make it much easier to keep track any changes I make to the "adders" and  I hope to get feedback regarding what should be in the 5th adder.

Thanks for your interest ... tooslow

in JTF some Aeros come with fixed/improved cockpit frame, but not all .. :-X
(the L139A, L159F, -G are OK, the L139C and L159A are not).

To fix it this (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,42916.msg489235.html#msg489235) mod should be dled and unzipped into #JTF:
and/or should make it into next CUP JTF patch.  ;)

Hi everybody !

Great (and Huge) stuff  :)

If you agree, I would recommand a map currently not part of the current release:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,8608.0.html

As you can see here:
This is an enhanced version of Maraz Central Mediterranean map.
The new airfields in Tunisia (nearer to each other) allow an easier use for dogfigfht.

Another wish: the A26 (B) should be part also of the WAW module , as this (beautiful) USAF bomber took part of the 2nd WW over Germany in 1945.

Hello all - I have one suggestion...this mod corrects the rotation of the stock Grumman Avenger propellers. I've got it installed as a standalone mod but I offer it up for consideration. Not smart enough to know whether it causes problems with C.U.P., but it seems to be ok.

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=42904.0

Not a high priority but figured it might fit in Part 10...or 11...

Ps - for the record I am NOT obsessed with the Avenger LOL...

Post by: Chupacabras84 on June 03, 2015, 04:17:49 PM
Suggest turning first post into a list of mods and their status.
Now there is only 4 pages so its easily manageable but later it might turn into a mess with requests of same mods getting repeated, requests for mods that are already been implemented and so on.
An easily digestible format:

Mod Suggested. (So people know what's already been suggested)
Mod Suggested but its not yet decided whether it will be included.
Mod Suggested and queued for implementation.
Mod been added to C.U.P.
Mod Suggested and rejected.

Next to each mod we can add a note in parenthesis, stuff like:
Requires too much work, Impossible to implement in IL2 engine, Goes against idea of a sim, mod considered a negative addition in opinion of majority of community and so on.

It should be divided into few categories so, people have easier time checking whether the mod they want to suggest already been suggested.
For example:

Aircraft:
Cockpits: (models and textures)
Maps:
Effects:
3D fixes:
Campaigns:
Misc: (Functionality/Balance)

An example of such list:

Aircraft:
PWS-10 (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,20453.0.html)
PWS-26 (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,25198.0.html)
RWD-10 (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,2637.0.html)
YakPack (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,4510.0.html)
B-26 with two Bordkanone BK 7,5 and jet engines (http://www.nyan.cat/) (Too much swag)

Maps:
Enhanced version of Maraz Central Mediterranean map (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,8608.0.html)
Retextured version of Channel map with my little pony as a main theme (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=You+cant+be+serious...)

3D fixes:
Fix_Buildings (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,45148.0.html)
Engine cowls and props (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,25142.0.html)

Effects:

I searched the forum and only came up with one reference for the F-105 and that was just as a footnote to the F-100 on its download post.
Considering its heavy use in Vietnam, the F-105D thunderchief would be big for JTW.
I didnt find any reference to anyone working on it here or anywhere else, so I dont know if one is in the works..
but that would be a great addition.

needs to be replaced)

It's been already requested I think, but the introduction of the D-521 prototype/franken in C.U.P. made me wonder about the original D.520 :

Just to let you know:  I have been through this thread again and it all looks good for the next updates.  Some was in testing, some have arrived already, but the final sweep should get everything else.  These are great suggestions, thank you.  We will make it happen.   ;D

Thank you especially for posting links and providing good explanations.  We are not lazy, but the workload for CUP is huge and clarity, with a little assistance, is very much appreciated.  After all, every one of us benefits, I want all the goodies too!

HUD Log moved to bottom right corner of the screen

I use it in my HSFX and no problems so far, could it work with CUP? It would be a nice mod if problems with VisualMod 9 or maybe it will be in the future pack adapted from 4.13 ...  :P

could it work with CUP?

why not trying it before requesting?  ;)
in this case I confirm: it works OK here,
no problems so far in all CUP modules.

Can I suggest the majority of the files already set up for JGSME by Tooslow, he has put a fair bit of work into testing and trying these mods for CUP. He has just released a new set for the last update.

I already have both these packs Gerax, I've been using Tooslow's adders since he released them, I just pointed out that he had re-done them again in line with the new WAW pack and placed a link to their page....

Even if I'm old from the site I was always modding my installation by myself....tested briefly CUP some months ago and loved the really good development potential!

After in the last days SAS give at this mod a greater evidence in the forum position I recognized is arrived the time for start to think in 'community' with this way of thought!

Downloaded and installed in less than 24 hours with very few , if not at all , issue and discovered a really impressive growth from the older installation pack I remember....

I can only say that I'm really happy to have done such upgrade and got this community mile stone!

About a couple of planes I love (I'm a inter wars enthusiast!) and that are missing , but I'm a bit unsure where they should be added (the time they belong is the Sino-Japanese war) as their fellows are between WAW and TGA....

....anyway here they are:

The B2M (the mod initially was related to the Hart but got the stand alone in reply 9)

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,47861.msg528548.html#msg528548

The B5N1 (the mod initially was a multi conversion of the B5N2 but got the stand alone in reply 5)

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,47120.msg523143.html#msg523143

Thanks a lot for the consideration of one of my first CUP posts and a HUGE THANKS for the great work you've done with this great mods collection!

Keep up the great work you're done!

Like Whiskey Sierra, I have a strong interest in  "China Incident" battles, and I'd like to suggest the addition of at least two more IJN aircraft to TGA. I've been given to understand that an early version of the Nell was already in service when D.510s were operational with the CAF, so:

https://www.mediafire.com/download/1p53id46361xjce/G3M2-11_type96bomber.7z

This, too, was a staple at the time:

Once again, with many thanks.   ;D

Hi, although its very difficult to keep ahead of Monty, I would like to repeat part of my April request here:

Spitfire MK XIV fr version, by SAS~GJE52 at https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,28910.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,28910.0.html) For me one of the nicest, if not the nicest Spitfires ever made
(I have added this one to every CUP install sofar without any problem.)

Spitfire Pr Mk XIX, by ton414 at https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,18078.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,18078.0.html) To make the Pr variants complete.

Seafire Mk I, II, II 4xHispano, II Merlin 45 & II Merlin 5o, by SAS~CirX at https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,1663.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,1663.0.html)
To make the Seafire series complete, and perhaps Whiskey_Sierra's proposition could be implanted:
Mk.Ib with Merlin 45 or 46, 3 blade propeller, with air filter;
F.Mk.IIc (2xH) with Merlin 45 or 46, 3 blade propeller, with air filter;
L.MK.IIc (2xH) with Merlin 32, 4 blade propeller, with or without air filter option;
L.MK.IIc (4xH) with Merlin 32, 4 blade propelle, with or without air filter option;
L.Mk.IIc with Merlin 55M, 3 blade propeller without air filter.

Hi Monty could you please add the following Arms packs?

Quote
For those who installed the previous release of the Fokker CX Hispano - it's always better to wipe the previous install (don't forget to wipe also the previous weapons_ru.properties entries) and install the new versions
These planes need the new Finnish and Dutch bombs installed to be flown correctly

_Arms_Finland (for those who have not yet installed them)

Edit by: SAS~Mission_bug.
Note: Also needed to make the ordnance appear on the Hispano aircraft is a weapons pack released with another aircraft.

It would be great to have the new/modded FM for the MB.152 already made into CUP:

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,46477.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,46477.0.html)

I've added it manually and it works. However, I get some strange sound issues with it (no external sound past a certain RPM threshold - must be due to the extended RPM range with the new FM).

Badly needed to fly any campaign with that plane IMHO (though there aren't many).

TGA is indeed becoming a very complete set. At the risk of redundancy, however, a number of aircraft, most but not all in Japanese service, need to be added in order to produce early China Incident missions:

A2N2
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,47411.0.html

A5M - The first air combat between modern monoplane fighters is said to have taken place over China in 1937. The opponents were the Claude and the Peashooter, the latter of which is already in TGA. The A5M is present in WAW as well as the stock sim, but it's not accessible in the TGA air.ini, and I can't find an SAS link to the type either on the website or in the CUP Manual V.7. This is as close as I could get in SAS:

For #WAW, I think this can be quite important :

some missing vehicles columns, mentioned here : https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,50387.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,50387.0.html).

Some of the concerned vehicles are missing in CUP, but links for them are also provided in the thread I mention. Tests have been made with several peoples, and it seems to work.

This would be very good for some old campaign compatibility, and would help a lot to adapt them for CUP !!!

Add the F7F Tigercat to the WAW module.

Motion thirded, and in addition, as a pair of contemporaneous opponents, it would be nice to have Kodama's

and J4M1

The Ki-98 appears as one of the WAW loading backgrounds, always a frustrating experience. The same painting was used for the cover art on Edwin Dyer's Secret Japanese Projects (Midland Publishing, 2009). I regret to say that I cannot remember the artist's name.

Over the past couple of days I read Raymond Cheung's Aces of the Republic of China Air Force (Osprey, 2015). As one result, I've reviewed the lists I've given in previous posts for aircraft which would be welcome additions to TGA in particular. I've also found an IJN type, produced by Giotto, which, like the Ki-10, would be appropriate for both TGA and WAW:

B2M carrier based bomber:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,47861.msg528548.html#msg528548

There are a few other Japanese types which would be nice to have, but I am restricting my wishlist to types which have already been modeled for Il-2.   8)

Hello fellow pilots!
Here is my humble request:
Would it be possible to add this Vietnam map retextured by Whitecat?

Here: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,35861.0.html

This map has some very greenish texture that other Vietnam maps don't have. I hope to see it into CUP someday.
Thanks in advance,

Black Sea map.

We have The Black Sea map by Dad in CUP. It is based on original Crimea and Kuban maps with number of improvements (as Cape Khersones airfield for example). Unfortunately this map still retain many errors of stock maps, including wrong Crimean toponyms.
New Black Sea map in 4.13 included - at last - correct toponyms.  And many other improvements as historical airfields near Sevastopol, etc. If I'm not mistaken this map was done (or based on) the work of modder yt2 from Aviaskins and introduced by Uzin here:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,14350.12.html
and discussed in more details there (in Russian):
http://forum.aviaskins.com/showthread.php?t=3971

My suggestion: to include this new Black Sea map (with any upgrades that may come) into new CUP edition.

IT TAKES A BIT AWAY FROM THE OTHERWISE GREAT nAVY AIRCRAFT & THE NICE AIRCRAFT CARRIERS & LAUNCHES FROM SAME... ;)

Modelling inaccuracy causes that. Check the shadows on Yorktown, Eagle or Ark Royal.

Solution is to lower the deck collision boxes a small amount.

Takes time to do though.

Bender_GUNFIRE_DAYNIGHT, An extremely nice looking mod
Those pics dont really show it but from the cockpit view low calibre fire looks awesome.
The only thing is, you need to downsize textures from 1024^ to something lower otherwise some heavy guns might produce a lag on low tier PC's.
