Title: New EastBalt map

As an overture to the sooncoming Wrzesien_1939 campaign, I would like to publish a  rebuilt by me the EastBalt map.
To facilitate the uploading of map I decided not to change the name of the map.
Although the map is completely redone (retextured, retowned, revillaged, new terrain, new ports and towns, new rural fields), it remains on the old version of Uzav_EastBalt.

In this case you need the original Uzins Uzav_EastBalt map and Poland_1939.

Of course with the consent of Uzin. He also gave me many advices about the details of the map. Thank you, Ivan
User manual - details in readme.txt


The next point is the award. The system of military awards and degrees in Polish aviation in the West or Russia is completely incompatible with that of September 1939.
That is why I created a new folder PY Poland (1939) with new badges, military ranks and icons for Poland 1939.
The instruction in readme.txt.
The first campaign for this map and PY folder is Desperate Days from Poltava, included in PY. Thanks a lot.
The campaign Wrzesien_1939 for this and other maps will appear soon

darky1958 - zrób proszę paczkę wszystkich tekstur, które siedzą w: uzin/Poland/summer i uzin/summer i są użyte w Twojej mapie. Nie mogę tego skompletować a chciałbym zobaczyć co tam knujesz  ;). Pozdrawiam.

Edit: potrzebne tekstury znalazłem w mapie Uzina - Map of Poland 1939. Mapa w końcu działa.

Czesc Kelso,
Fajnie ,ze udalo sie Tobie otworzyc te mape.
Kilka lat dlubalem przy tej mapce do polskiej kampanii i byc moze jest juz troche przestarzala.
Choc dla wielu chlopakow z forum i tak kampania polska to niewiele znaczacy epizod. Nie wiem czy kogos to interesuje. Nawet jestem w stanie to zrozumiec.
Narobilem sie z napisaniem i zlozeniem polskiej kampanii Wrzesien 1939 , ale nie wiem czy warto to publikowac.

Good idea! The original map was a bit bare at places (no criticism against Uzins great work) so this is Super!

I think this is one of the great things about modded IL-2 and the community: old mods are not left behind but improved upon. The game is constantly improving!  ]cheers[

Is this version on the map included in BAT 3.8?

It seems TOP attractive in Mission Builder, however I cant to fly due on lack of some objects.

I am sure that it is your responsibility to include _Tex and 3do you are using into the package. It is not sufficient only to show where the user can find it. Not everybody has the time to surf over the internet .
As you can see in the thread, there are several users who cannot find the items.

This is one of my favorite maps. :) Installed a lot ago and works successfully.
Old version of uzav_EastBalt map also works perfectly.

As to my issue with these missing objects

I have 4.12.2 version with VP Modpack and there in static.ini I did not find these objects enther. Neither in CSR map. So I do not know where these objects can be found, unfortunatelly. I would be happy if someone could help me to find these three objects only to have this beautiful map working

which 3do ans tectures you have used for installing Darkys version of the map?
I suppose that you succeeded in installing the map and saving there the missions.

Hello Ivan, I put the update into my 4.12 with SAS ModAct 5.30 setup, not much other than that I can help with sorry to say. ;)

I have been using this install for years to add anything new so I can see how it behaves, with this there seemed to be no issues as far as I can tell so far . :o

I have all my objects in their own folders outside of the Mapmods, there were not many to add in this case if memory serves, some indicate to have a 3do folder in there but I do not, just maps and textures.

I did not have a stand alone version of the EastBalt in my Mapmods so I was adding this new with no need to backup anything, textures added as you would any others, cannot remember if there was anything overwritten, I add so many things over the week it is a miracle this version of mine still runs.

I will download again just to follow the install steps again and report anything odd. ;)

Well, I tried to install Darko_EastBalt into my (almost clean) 4.12.2m SAS 5.30, without my Poland map installed there.
I have found that after addition of some small number of textures (obviously coming from Poland map) into _Tex folder, map opens in FMB.

I mean including the mission saving?
At what version of Il-2 ?

As for the last three objects,
I suspect they might be hidden somewhere in SFS files of some huge package.
I consider the SFS practice in the instance of map object to be unfortunate,
in spite of the meaning of some authors who called my opinion " nonsens".

Hi Uzin, The map installation was successful (I'm using VP Modpack), unfortunately I can't save the mission, I searched most packages with objects, but I didn't find what I was looking for.

are now available.
Exept buildings.House$]SEchurch10
But this buildings.House$]SEchurch10 is a problem not only of these uzav EastBalt maps, but of other maps as well. Some of those maps with such problem allow saving missions, some do not.
So, missions cannot be saved anyway.
Log shows these problems
INTERNAL ERROR: MeshObj: Can't load SIM 3do/Buildings/CSvsD1938/HangarKbely/live.sim
INTERNAL ERROR: Can't open file '3do/airfield_KDP/ConcretePlate1/Taxi_{-17}/mono.sim'
As to this airfield_KDP, I remember that someone shared these objects, but there is no folder named ConcretePlate1. The objects are available in my static.ini, but not physiically present.
I do not know where to find all missing objects, and what the log will show further if I find and install them.
Better to use Uzin's old less populated map than wasting so much time for looking missing objects. I do not remember any situation, which took me three weeks for rectifying problems with a map without success. I failed to find these objects in my 4.12.2 version with VP Modpack, though like in my 4.13.4 version all objects are available in 4.12.2 static.ini. Unfortunatelly, I failed to find a clue and cannot help with the successful result to share among users  :P

is well known typing mistake, the whole row may be at best replaced in inbuildings.txt file using Zutis actor management program:

Thank you very much, Piotrek1! This Airfield_KDP folder has finally solved my problem! Now missions can be saved. I would never find this folder myself, cause I wouldn't image which map I do not have in my game contained the same. Many thanks again!  :)

Also..the airfield on the Island HEL..has disappeared. To have a large farmhouse complex smack bang in the middle of where it once was. I'm reverting back to the older map for now.

 An observation I may: Is there anything that can be done to make the Hel peninsular more accurate? Especially around the coast line near Hel itself.
The inner coastline facing the mainland could be more straighter from the Naval port northwards, and the southern tip itself made more pointed.
The last stand in Poland deserves its place and recognition on this great map.

Well, its not so hard-
1. Open map folder . There you will see files map_c.tga and map_c.tga_table.
2. Using pgm Map_c_toolbox

   re-create file mymap_c.tga.
3. Using graphic editor like GIMP adjust the shape of Hel in that file.
4. Using the abovementioned pgm Map_c_toolbox
   re_create back files map_c.tga and map_c-tga_table.
5. Replace by those files the original ones  in map folder.

Well I had a go..managed to get an image in gimp..but it was in black and white, with land in white ..sea in black.
I managed to expand up the Hel bit by scaling it up to 800%, however it is so blocky and alianised I couldn't make any headway on shaping it. Yes, I must read instructions I guess. A lot of buttons and bells to press or ring..

You are on the right way: mymap_c.tga is black and white.
You must continue iteratively:
make adjustion of mymap_c.tga, , restore map_c.tga and map_c.tga_table, observe in the map the effect and go back to mymap_tga adjustment.
There could be some smoothing effect in the map visible.
Continue until satisfied.

There is an instrument in GIMP - select the region on mymap_c.tga
you want and apply the gaussian filtering to it. Iteratively again.

Ok..I'll read those tutorials. Not knowing what tool I  should use, I used the eraser tool to shave off and shape the coastline.
Guess I'm not saving or restoring the mymap_c.tga correctly.
